I've studied Malaria as part of my masters so i do know a thing or two about it. Millions of people contract it are very ill and then recover. My housemate is from Uganada and comes accross Malaria quite often and she even said she couldn't believe the fuss.

She did not nearly die, the media blew it all out of proportion. Malaria is a disease that affects millions of people in Africa and you don't hear about them 24/7.

I think it will be Cheryl but Rihanna is a better artist and has a cracker of a song. Wouldn't be suprised if Rihanna was #1 the following week.

Isn't Rihanna on X factor aswell though?

I think its been because record companies have delayed releasing songs or increased the length between when songs go into airplay so people go and download in the first week cos they know the release date. I think once a song is on the radio/TV it should be available to download. The chart would be much more interesting.

If the US singles marker was based purely on sales American idol winners would do a lot better, they just don't get the airplay now they need to get a hit on the singles chart

Do people not realise that the auto-tunethis was just to create a buzz about the show as it has just started? They knew what they were doing. And it worked, and now people are still talking cos of the crazy Mercy lady. Its all about getting viewrs. The thing about x facotr is it boost sales in general, even though artists who get to perform on it get a big boost so does a lot of the chart as sales in general go up. I stopped watching half way through the live shows last year cos of the crap that was Jedward. That was the point wher i knew this programme is a joke but i have been sucked in again this year.
