This is absolutely what I mean by performative outrage, because surely you really don’t think Jesy laughing at Nicki making those accents is indefensible? You can patronise people for having a different opinion from you but I’m not going to buy into the level of hysteria on the internet just because it’s making noise.

It’s mad how Leighanne does this but it’s brushed off as being naive (which is a fair opinion to make) but Jesy literally laughs for 2 seconds out of a one hour video and she is the devil incarnate.

No, sitting there saying nothing is literally sitting there saying nothing. Nicki is a spontaneous, unpredictable person (to put it lightly) so why would Jesy know she was going to go off about Leigh personally? She clearly had stuff she wanted to say about the matter.

You can acknowledge Jesy’s wrongdoing without taking it to the max though, surely? I don’t mean you particularly but just in general, people are calling her horrible, vile etc because she laughed at Nicki going off on one, at someone being called a clown - I’ve literally seen more rude posts on here..

I understand and I know people will probably hate me for this but why would she? Rightly or wrongly shit has gone on between them and they’re in a bad place, as far as she knows Leigh’s been bitching about her calling her horrible etc to random influencers online. I just can’t wait for Adele to release next week so this can all go away :’)

Watching those videos make me sad because she is still Jesy from Little Mix. Behind the excessive fake tan and whatnot she is literally still the funny, unpredictable girl that made her my favourite member back in 2011. I just hope she can get a handle on this and honestly just get a grip, while she still can.

But this wasn’t an ploy by this influencer, as someone who watched the live it was literally his off the cuff response to the people in his comments dragging him for supporting Jesy. it isn’t that he started the live to come for Leigh specifically.

But we’re not talking about years ago though, Jesy has maintained a consistent aesthetic for years which has never really been called out on a large scale until she left the band. She’s had people call her out on occasion but to me it has been exacerbated ever since she left the band. The lines are now blurring and we’re mixing he said she said gossip with the actual serious topic of racism which makes me question how genuine the outrage on some peoples part has been. Jesy has already left the band (and we know it was not under the best circumstances) at the time Leigh dropped her documentary so is it that surprising that she didn’t big it up?

To be honest I was referring to this forum more than anything, I just find it jarring to hear everyone slate her yet this time last year they adored her - I just had a wee look at the forum history and couldn’t find any concerns from fans, not even when the subject of racism was brought up in reference to Leigh’s Instagram post last year yet now Jesy is being dragged to the high heavens at every opportunity. I appreciate that she should be held accountable for how she’s behaved and have always said that, so I’m not just a blind stan but a lot of the (in my opinion) performative outrage is uncomfortable to read.

She looks the exact same there as she does now, so I can’t help but wonder why wasn’t rushing to cancel her for blackfishing whilst she was still in the band? She was arguably the most popular member at this point with her documentary etc and Rita and Ariana were being called out too so it’s not like people didn’t know about it. I get the whole Boyz thing and video has exacerbated the situation but people were gunning her before the announcement, and I personally feel like a lot of it is because they resent her for leaving the band and starting a solo career.

This definitely feels like we’re moving past holding Jesy accountable for black fishing, into vilifying her for everything without having a balanced understanding of what actually went on. I can’t say I’m here for that really.

I will say that I can understand Leigh is upset and Jesy has shown little regard for her feelings with everything that’s gone on But knowing Jesy’s history etc, willingly (whether joking or not) actively wanting someone to add hate at a time where she is being battered by the media is very very cold, to me. I understand people will say that she deserves it and that on the face of it, Leigh has done nothing wrong etc, and I get that but I can’t help how that made me feel in all honesty.

NoHun on Instagram just showed a DM from Leighanne spilling the tea, apparently Jesy cut them off and she’s a ‘horrible person’ eeek. She replied to his ‘should i make a dance video to Boyz’ and she said ‘no do a video about her being a blackfish instead’

I think tbf, this is a bit of a reach - a promotional tour tends to be the same questions asked at you so she isn’t going to give different answers to the same questions really? Why can she not have had negative experiences which led her to leave the band (let’s remember she literally attempted suicide whilst in the band) but not have good memories and love for her former colleagues? Like yes, she’s blackfishing and she’s being held accountable for that rightfully but her feelings about her time in LM are absolutely valid.

it makes me a bit sad listening to that interview hearing Jesy say nice things about LM when they have (rightly or wrongly) washed their hands of her.
