This. I personally think a lot of the criticism aimed at her is from people who (wrongly) don’t believe her reasons for leaving the band match with her actions. She should be called out absolutely, but people are taking pleasure in the dragging and it’s uncomfortable.

I don’t really think this is for me either, which is disappointing as I was so looking forward to the release.

Let’s be honest though, if she had come out and said that you’d still be in the thread talking about awful it was that she dared to do that… i think she means that she can schedule things on her terms and she has an element of control in her life, whilst she was in Little Mix everything was done for her without any real consideration for whether she wanted to do it or not.

How do we know that the others didn’t do that to Jesy though? There seems to be a Jesy v the girls narrative that’s been created because she left, on more than a musical level and it’s just weird that everyone is so keen to paint Jesy as the villain yet all throughout her tenure in Little Mix she was applauded and had to be protected at all costs. I feel like she has been honest about what’s gone on over the years, which is something we all loved about her in the first place was it not? Regardless, even if she has cut them off she is within her rights to do that. If those people remind her of a traumatic time in jer life then maybe she does just need time to heal? Maybe the girls already know this and they have an understanding. We really don’t know anything in relation to the circumstances surrounding their split, but I don’t think Jesy should be made to do something or keep up appearances for the sake of her image because that’s what got her here in the first place

At the same time though, people seem to be really enjoying sticking the boot in at any point and so it becomes boring when people just keep reiterating the same thing (you said yourself that you were repeating yourself in your previous post). I don’t really understand your initial point either, what has her mental health issues and reasons for leaving got to do with the grills and the Nicki collab?

I definitely don’t think it’s worse than it was a few years ago, the last year of anything has been less OTT than ever. There was a time when characters were literally getting killed every other week with zero after math. Saying that I don’t think it’s very good either. There’s a new producer (her episodes have been on screen since the end of June, I think) who previously oversaw the show when it was genuinely at it’s all time lowest in 2009.

I love Cheryl so this is not hate, but people are going to bring the assault charge up because it emphasises how ridiculous the system is. She is absolutely entitled to move on, but people have a right to be mad that someone (and let’s remember she was an adult, not a child) who assaulted a black woman is then able to front a podcast on R&B music when there are more appropriate artists who could do so, on the BBC of all platforms. As I mentioned before they have a remit to promote diversity and representation as much as possible which is definitely not the case here. The narrative you’ve mentioned at the bottom does indeed make little sense, but it’s not the point most people are trying to make.

missing you is my absolute fav from these girls & it makes me sad when people hate it! i thought it was quite unique at the time and frankies first verse was so good.
