Should Charity/X Factor Winners physical singles be scrapped
Whether the track is good or not is highly subjective. I for one think it's a great song. But like many others I haven't bought the single as I am waiting for the album. I think as long as there is a market for it, although a small one, they should continue selling physical singles. Would be a sad day when the physical CDs die out although I can see that day is approaching. There is something special about owning a physical copy :)

Sunday Chart Predictions
This is not quite true, the new collection also includes "I Know Him So Well" and "You'll Be Sorry" which were not on the 'Gold' album. In return "Baby Don't Dance", "Only In My Dreams" and "Words Are Not Enough" have been omitted from this CXD but was available on the 'Gold' collection. Another selling point is that on the new collection the singles have been put in chronological order as they were released whilst on 'Gold' they were in non particular order. The only selling point for the 1-CD version would be that it has a different cover, which looks a lot nicer than the CD/DVD version.

Artists long overdue a Greatest Hits?
She has had far more singles than you are insinuating, certainly enough to fill a greatest hits cd, especially seeing as her 2000 collection wasn't really a proper GH.

Artists long overdue a Greatest Hits?
I would say: Alicia Keys Avril Lavigne Beyonce Coldplay Des'ree Jewel (she has released 9 studio albums and still no greatest hits to date...) Jennifer Lopez Jessica Simpson Kate Bush (a second greatest hits album is long overdue...) Keane Kelly Clarkson Melanie C Rihanna Shakira Take That (I think a greatest hits part 2 is due soon...)

Should there be a limit on how long songs can chart for?
When it comes to the albums charts they got rid of the rules after Michael Jackson's increase in album sales after his death, allowing his old albums to chart and also allowin Amy Winehouse to chart again after her death. However on the singles chart it's a different story... If a track has been on the chart for over 20 weeks and has dropped below the Top 50 it is no longer eligible to chart. Also if a song is older than 18 months it can not re-enter the chart unless it has been re-issued/re-released by the record company.

New Release Schedule: Monday 26 September
I would imagine it's worldwide, all her singles have been up until now...

Sunday Chart Predictions
That is a shame. I think the track could easily have gone top 10 with the right kind of promotion. Anyone know what is happening to their album now? Will it still be released?
-
Sunday Chart Predictions
That is almost correct. It wasn't limited though to only having a CD single out to chart, it could be a cassette single or a vinyl single (any physical format). From December 5, 1998 the rules changed as you mentioned and any track could chart (except recurrents - old tracks - that are still not eligible to chart).
