I picked option 2, but I think the proper approach would be: everything that has a video (not the lyrics video) and/or is promoting the album (such us pre-album sneak peaks should be considered as singles and should be counted towards the singles chart, everything else should strengthen the poor albums sales. And I would also count 1 stream/track/user/week regardless the number of plays of the track per week. And I would count full plays only, skipped songs should be excluded (the current 30 seconds rule is bit ridiculous).

I'm the opposite, I hate this unstandard-sized paper case. I also don't like the fact that ANTI doesn't contain her singles released last year :(

Btw this global initiative also means that all the new music will be released everywhere on the same day?! No delayed releases in the UK anymore? It would make sense, but if everything stays as it is now, the whole initiative makes no sense.

Thank god I don't live in the UK (I would be way too pissed). With some exceptions (mostly UK acts do that) we have everything on same day when it becomes available somewhere.

Haha, same here :) And back then it was really hard to get the charts in full (at least for me), and was almost impossible to get the archive. Currently I save everything in the database on my NAS/Mac :)

Well, I also don't understand that in digital era why are not songs/singles available at same time in every digital store of the world. It makes me crazy that I need to wait weeks (ok, here in continental Europe it happens quite rarely, but still) and I feel that I'm forced to download songs from torrent ;) I really don't care about radio and other promotions (the songs' release date should be independent from any promotion). If a song picks up, it will be a hit anyway regardless its release date.

:blink: My top 2 played songs have more then 2000 plays each, and there are quite a lot of songs with 1000+ plays in my iTunes library.

If I really like a song, it definitely gets played more then 15 times a day! (it must be about 20-50 plays a day, but it really depends on a song, my mood, my work, etc.) The current example is "Prayer In C" which got played 157 times over the last week (Mo-Fr).

Nowadays I buy CDs of deluxe editions for packaging and extra only to keep my collection complete. I don't even put the CDs into the player but shelves. I'd say I prefer digipacks (paper case with plastic tray) with a slipcase if possible. They are much nicer than the full plastic covers, but vulnerable as well. As I don't move/touch them, I don't care ;)

Well, the German method is more fair IMO. There are still lots of CD singles being released in DE/AT which have more weight on the chart.

You can. In my country nobody cares about the clean version, they play the explicit and without warning as this is the official version. You can hear all the nice words as they are in the songs, and nobody cares about it.

I will never understand the reason of skipping songs because of their explicit lyrics. I'm sure it's a UK thing.

Almost correct. HSS chart is not a physical only chart. Digital singles bundles count toward to this chart as well.
