On Your Radar (4th Studio Album Discussion)
The HMV pre-order chart for Nov 21st has all 6 listings for On Your Radar, 4 of them Top 10 I believe.

Maybe radios aren't playing this cos it's a bit shit? It's hardly their best offering. With the next single, when it starts charting due to video rotation, if radios like it, they'll play it. Look at Work, that stalled at #22 but didn't have a problem getting support again with all later singles.

On Your Radar (4th Studio Album Discussion)
Now you've come to mention it, i was completely oblivious to the fact their not promoting the album! I guess as fans we know anyway, but to the puplic no one is going to know! They probabbly know they'll cash in more from the tour rather than the album. They need a decent selling arena tour under their belts after 2 sell out theatre tours. Another gold album can wait in their books, they have 3 of them that have surpassed that.

How much will 'On Your Radar' sell in it's first week?
I completely agree. They're quite faceless in a way. The lack of exposure they get is down to that, because like i've just mentioned in another thread, they're not at the height where the UK wants to read about them, like they'd read about a Cheryl and Ashley split. The positive side to that however is that their personal lives are kept out of it all, but they need to be splashed over the tabloids. I think the public are familia with Mollie and Frankie (maybe Una, she's getting a bit more attention due to her pregnancy), but they don't know Rochelle and Vanessa (their sleeves for 'On Your Radar' are the ones that are least popular on HMV) which backs my claims up. Rochelle's the mother hen of the group, and Vanessa's the party animal, that's pretty much all to them.

On Your Radar (4th Studio Album Discussion)
I can see where you're coming from.. but they have personality - some members just ooze personality. It's just not as 'scandalous' as you put it compared to Girls Aloud. I think the press have been reasonably kind to Vanessa despite her liking to go out and get hammered, compared to Sarah Harding. There was quite a brutal battering from the press and McFly fans with the whole Dougie and Frankie split - but that's quite forgettable now compared to Cheryl and Ashley The girls have the 'material' shall we say to be splashed all over the press though.. Una pregnant, "I'm not leaving" Frankie's 'mysterious' absence And quite a few more, but the press just don't roll with it as much. They haven't got to the height where the UK wants to know about them, which is a shame because I know everyone wants to marry Mollie because she's the posh one who has a cracking personality. She is the persona of the group.

How much will 'On Your Radar' sell in it's first week?
The main problem is that we're in a declining albums market. The good bit of a news is that they're releasing it in a busy high sales period. The bad news is they could get washed up pretty quickly in the Christmas rush. So many pro's and con's. For example this album could spend 10wks Top 40 and only sell around 150k. A few years ago you'd be looking at much higher figure.

On Your Radar (4th Studio Album Discussion)
You've just listed all the reasons why they couldn't be more different artists. Singles under-perform for artists all the time, it doesn't mean their album goes the same way most the time. I can see what you mean, but Pixie Lott is hardly the fairest and comparable artist. I don't see why comparisons are made between solo artists and groups altogether..

On Your Radar Reviews.
It's a 'better' review of the one Pop Justice gave 'Wordshaker' that once. An iTunes star rating. Pfft. The review is pants though.

On Your Radar (4th Studio Album Discussion)
The only 'link' they have with each other is that she supported them on the Work tour, and that they both sing pop. Have any of you actually heard Pixie's album? It's dire. On Your Radar is far superior. I'm a fan of both of them, but On Your Radar is better than Young, Foolish, Floppy. Has it not come across that's why she's debuted in the midweeks so low?.. Because her album isn't that good?..

And just a reminder, these positions are not official. Just an 'indication' from ukairplaychart.co.uk I imagine. call yourself a fan? It all seems a bit much just because the single is going to miss the Top 10.. -_- 3 days into It's release and it's already been branded a flop? Unless your mystic meg and can see into the future, at the moment it's not a flop, nor is it a roaring success. Time will tell.

On Your Radar (4th Studio Album Discussion)
Why are you comparing The Sats to Pixie? She's not significant here. That performance of Faster is brilliant! Rochelle's vocals where flawless  . She needs to be the lead singer. There is no way in hell Vanessa would be able to do what Roch did there. And to add to that, I can't believe that Vanessa couldn't even 'pull off' Frankie's chorus; Not that I'm saying Frankie could do it better (we wont know untill she actually performs with them again) but it's getting very boring to hear Vanessa do all of her higher range in falsetto. Not that she can use it any other way however.. The dancers where a great addition and it really added to their stage presence. It also gives us a nice flavour of what's to come from the tour too.

#9 isn't too bad, but it's not going to stay Top 10 until Sunday unless the promo they have at the end of the week gives it a good push. They did work with Labrinth for one track on the album. It was recording during the Headlines tour but never made the final cut unfortunately.

And me, only just got round to doing it! Bought the physical CD of My Heart Takes Over too, not impressed they've doubled the price of the CD though on HMV. Oh well, it is free delivery after all.

iTunes Chart: November 2011 (II)
Finally! Their labels can see now that you can't just record a pile of shit and expect it sell just because of their name and brand.

With On Your Radar you've got to put into consideration that when they where laying the foundations for Notorious to be the first single, they where still recording the album; Half of the tracks didn't even exist when they released Notorious. So for example 'The Way You Watch Me' couldn't have been released first as it wasn't even finished then. You also have take into consideration that if Wordshaker hadn't of flopped, we wouldn't of had a 'Headlines' type of 'EP' release. It would have most likely been another full-length album with much more choice for single number 3. The only things I would have done different is.. Never of released 'Work' / OR waited 4 months untill releasing the follow-up single from WordshakerReleased 'Ego' as the 1st single from Wordshaker around November 2009The second offering from 'Wordshaker' should have been 'One Shot', maybe followed by 'Forever Is Over' to close the era offNot jumping on the 'on air/on sale' bandwaggon - it killed off Notorious, one of their best singles. The follow up singles may have had more of a chance of being more succesful this way.

My Heart Takes Over (3rd Single Discussion Thread)
Combined it's been at #13 since yesterday afternoon. The only thing that's changed is that one version is selling more than the other, making it look like it's moving up the chart, when in fact it probably hasn't.

They have 2 versions top 100 too?

My Heart Takes Over (3rd Single Discussion Thread)
Because after Notorious radios just lost interest and they don't see what we see (the fans), they just see a single dropping the down the chart and brand them as a flop so why would they want to play their music when they can play more succesful music that is actually in the chart?

My Heart Takes Over (3rd Single Discussion Thread)
They've got a much better chance if that's the case. The X Factor is just a breeding ground for Syco and X Factor related artists. It will be a refreshing change when 'The Voice' comes along. It's tireseome seeing the exact same artists perform every single year..

My Heart Takes Over (3rd Single Discussion Thread)
New peak of #11 on Video Airplay. No sign of it in the Radio Airplay. Deary me! There's no point in having a 'big promotion performance' if not even radios are reluctant to play your music, no matter where you perform.

Considering it's ratings are pretty low I doubt it :(

My Heart Takes Over (3rd Single Discussion Thread)
This is a really disappointing start. Combined they're about #15, which will be a shock to them since they're so used to being Top 10. But when you think about it.. They've done only one televised performance (Alan Carr)It's only Top 30 on Video AirplayRadio have neglected them; It's not even entered the Airplay Top 50

On Your Radar (4th Studio Album Discussion)
It had nothing to do with the track as such, but more as the single if that makes sense. They failed at closing off the Chasing Lights era; the public where still buying Chasing Lights, which at times was charting and selling more than Wordshaker. The 2 month gap between Work and Forever Is Over was too short, and it didn't help that Work and Forever Is Over where at complete opposite ends of the spectrum. They went from a colorful-coordinated image, to a more sexy image complete with PVC (Work) to mature pop-rock (Forever Is Over). Their images couldn't have changed faster if they tried. I think it was a massive balls up that Jayne was trying to sex them up (she said in a flip around 'Work' time that we where going to see more of "sexy Saturdays"). She changed their image too fast.
