  1. The ambient remix is beautiful. Adds so much more emotion to the track.
  2. ^^ What I just wrote up there. When they where with Jayne, and Fascination actually existed, it was up to Jayne to organize the promotion etc, and their team at the label would have co-worked with her to come up with a marketing strategy, so no, Adam was not directly involved with their schedule as such. I find the promo blitz they did with Missing You completely biased as they where filming '24/7' at the time, so they had to look busy. There's no point in filming the 'UK's biggest girl group' just perform on Daybreak and do nothing else.
  3. When their singles kept getting canceled after Ego (Here Standing, and One Shot) and their promotion was cut It was no surprise they left Jayne. You also gotta keep in mind she was also with The Wanted at this point so she was dividing her time with them. I'm not saying Jayne did a piss poor job because they where actually handled very well, and as a result, the only major girl group that has broke into the UK market successfully since Girls Aloud. However, the girls had only been on the scene for a year and I think with their lack of experience with the industry (maybe) they switched management a bit prematurely. They where going through a rough patch with Wordshaker under-performing which they probably couldn't understand why (at the time) so they probably just blamed it on their management thus 'firing' her. Jayne has done wonders for The Wanted, however it's known fact that boy bands are much easier to market. There's a much bigger audience for them, so whoever was going to manage The Wanted where going to have an easier time than 'managing' a girl group, like The Saturdays. It was a bit unfortunate that The Wanted's management got a few contacts and had them play their records on repeat on Capital FM and where able to do deals to get them on the X Factor. But like I said, I doubt they would have been able to do the same for The Saturdays as it's a different scenario (talking about target audience etc). The Saturdays where fortunate (or un-fortunate, depends what way you look at it) enough to be in a position where their sub-label Fascination was being divided back into it's parent label Polydor due to financial difficulty. Fascination then seized to exist on the music-selling side so Polydor gave Fascination's founding member Adam a chance to venture into management, and Fascination Management was born. As The Sats where leaving Jayne's group, Fascination Management had just came round so they signed with them I suppose for the familiarity and the years of experience Adam and his team have under their belt. I'm guessing it was very new to them all so these 'bad decisions' we always talk about I'm sure at the time probably weren't, but perhaps ill-advised. You would not know how fast decisions and plans can be changed in the music industry. They pulled it back together for the Headlines release; Got a radio airplay #1, the reality series '24/7', Headlines selling 2-3x more than their previous effort and two consistent selling singles, not to forget the chance to tour again which was a sell-out. I don't think we can really blame on air/on sale for the demise of their 'popularity' (shall we say for now) as on air/on sale has worked for them before with the likes of their post-album singles 'Issues', 'Ego' and 'Higher'. It felt like they gini-pigged the schedule for 'Notorious' as the promotion seemed to be drafted out in an inconsistent way, which eventually meant radios stopping playing it because it fell down the chart, which is why radio's are even more reluctant than ever to play them now due to that slight blip. 'My Heart Takes Over' and 'On Your Radar' will just test how strong a group they are, and just how far their label and management are willing to go for them. They've put a lot of money into this LP which is exactly what they should have done with Wordshaker. Just some of my thoughts, I hope you guys see what I see. :)
  4. At the end of the day, the high sales period is starting, so it does'nt really matter where it charts as long as it sells. Look at Headlines last year, it sold something 8k for #11 and then on Christmas week it sold 8k at #50 something. As long as it stays top 40 untill the end of the year, that would be good for them. They've picked the wrong time to tour unfortunately, it's going to prevent them from promoting the record. Tours do not sell albums. Fans go to the tour who will already own the album (possible multi coppies too) so why would they want to buy it again? The next single will be out Jan/Feb time i'd imagine.
  5. Amen! I can see where your all coming from but they're hardly in a position where they can pick and choose where they want to perform. Let alone turn certain shows down...
  6. They're still performing on the Xtrafactor though. At least that's something.
  7. LOL. They do like to keep it in the family..
  8. Amazing!
  9. Another issue is that it would be another single of a different genre. Notorious - Pop/Dance All Fired Up - Dance My Heart Takes Over - Ballad The Way You Watch Me - Pop Rock There's no familarity with the tracks to match the album, if that makes sence. The Way You Watch Me sticks out like a sore thumb from that list because it sounds completely different. You know what happened when they went from 'Work' to 'Forever Is Over' within the space of 2 months...
  10. The next single wont be released untill January probabbly, to capitalize on the heavy singles sales. They need to stay clear on anything 'All Fired Up' sounding, unfortunately scuppering the changes of the amazing 'Get Ready, Get Set' being released. They need a hit, and another dance influenced single will just not work in their favour unfortunately. 'All Fired Up' and 'Notoroius' confirm that. If I where to draw up a shortlist for the next single, it should be between 'Faster', 'The Way You Watch Me', 'Do What You Want With Me' and 'Last Call'. I want to say 'White Lies' too. 'The Way You Watch Me' should be kept for 5th single if there's going to be one. It's just too summery for January. Either 'Faster', 'Do What You Want With Me' and 'Last Call' are the three tracks they should be looking at.
  11. It's not been made clear if it's the Xfactor charity single, or the C.I.N single which Gary has put together himself.
  12. Keep in mind that Chasing Lights, Wordshaker and Headlines all sold around 20-23k in their first week/at their sales peak, and they where all coming off the back off more successful singles. Chasing Lights had Up and Issues to carry that era through, whilst Wordshaker bombed despite the on-going success of Ego. Then they had the ITV2 series for (Missing You and) Headlines as well as the Radio #1 with Missing You. On Your Radar is coming off the back of two underwhelming selling singles with a clear lack of radio support. Chances are the 'casual listener' isn't going to purchase it for one reason or another.
  13. What I find funny about this, is that they've ditched The Sats (who will sing the majority of the track live) for a performance by the Xfactor finalists which will no-doubtingly be mimed. (If of course this is all true) What? They've had two singles from this LP so far that have sold just over 170k. It's not great, especially when you compare that with some of the other artists that have been on there (excluding Pro.Green).
  14. Re-opened! Please read the Edit in the first post if you voted before 07/11/11. I look round a lot of forums, and one of the most common comments about this LP is that it doesn't "sound like them". The sales for Notorious and All Fired Up where both underwhelming, perhaps due to this very issue. However, because The Saturdays aren't mutli-platinum album sellers (you get the picture, etc) you'd think their 'come and go' audience wouldn't have an issue with this. 'Faster' seems like the obvious choice in that respect because it reminds me a bit of Ego, and the production is reminiscent of their previous material. However personally, my favourites from this album are 'Do What You Want With Me' and 'Get Ready, Get Set'.
  15. I always knew that the charity track would be performed but was laughed off for saying so. Gary Barlow produced the whole thing and you know how the xfactor like to 'keep it in the family'. However if they where in the original lineup then thays good news for them.
  16. The iTunes clips are amazing. Best album yet by far.
  17. I think I'll put that list on BuzzJack too soon, I think it'll be really helpful!
  18. Mmm it's good but right at the bottm of the pile for me.
  19. Exactly, it makes it such a more interesting vocal arrangement. However, the notes she's hitting for the line "do what you want with me" aren't really in her range to do it in her chest voice now, so live I think she's gonna sound a bit of a mess. Of course in the studio and what not they can tweak it. Similar situation with My Heart Takes Over, she appears to do the big notes and adlibs at ease on the record, but the performance they did on the Oxford Lights the other day she did most of it in falsetto because she just simply can't do it without straining her voice. If she can't pull it off in front of an audience then don't record it that way. It'd boost the morale of their performances that's for sure. I can't imagine how it feels to have recorded such a strong vocal, then to go out and perform it live in falsetto. It's gonna knock your confidence big time. It feels like their 'team' aren't really accommodating her vocal issue and they're just plodding along putting the vocal issue on the back burner and carrying on as usual.
  20. Do What You Want With Me is my favorite clip. It's completely fresh and it's got something very Saturdays about the vocals, with exciting production. The only thing that bugs me is that this track is just made for a huge belter of a chorus (I'm looking at you Vanessa) but since her skills are a bit urm limited now, they've just layered her falsetto vocal to make it sound really full. But still this makes it more interesting.
  21. You can blame Notorious for the tumble of their radio support. Not specifically that single, but how they released it (on air/ on sale) and the promo schedule they did based around that bizzare single campaign is the reason why they're not supported much. Their résumé lately isn't looking great. And it's not like they've just sat around and done nothing about it either. At least they went on a weeks (2wks?) radio tour for My Heart Takes Over, and not even that got the stations playing it! Bizzare.
  22. I'd rather the support is there for them when or after it's released so it's not too front loaded to be honest.
  23. I find that funny because I actually thought they where better vocally on their first tour. Vanessa carried everything and her voice was really powerful. However, on the Headlines tour her voice had deteriorated so there was no room for error and no-one could hide behind her no more. Of course the second someone hit a bum note it stuck out like a sore thumb because it felt like there was no 'lead' singer of the group no more = no amazing adlibs to make up for the bum notes. And I think that even more now. It's great that they all have opportunity to sing, but they need an amazing lead singer. I'm not being horrible or negative but it's well known pop group formula, and it shouldn't really be tampered with.
