But why would they assign the physical sales to the b-side.. rather than the a-side? (.. which is the one everyone is buying) It just seems like the OCC make their job difficult for themselves.

I don't know why the OCC make life hard for themselves. Surely if 'Ladykiller' is purchased with the single EP then the sales should just automatically be added to All Fired Up, not chart seperately. However, if 'Ladykiller' is being purchased seperately (ie not with the bundle) then that charts seperately? Their cover of 'I Need A Dollar' which was only available to pre-order (in a bundle) was also in the midweeks in the Top 40 somewhere - does that mean 'I Need A Dollar' was representing the sales for the pre-order bundle? They make life difficult for themselves :unsure:

All of the acts appearing on Red or Black are all Syco related, apart from Pixie Lott and Jessie J. No suprise there..

Forgot to mention that Turn Myself In might not make the album (according to a fan who spoke to Vanessa), and their next single has been written and produced by Lucas Secon, which we have down as the track which features Travie McCoy. The girls have also said it's not another "dancey" track.

^^ There's a 12k gap now between #2 and #3. They also have 2 of their b-sides in the Top 40 which I wrekkon too is about 5k in sales which are yet to combined with All Fired Up. Which is an estimated gap of 17k. Maroon 5 have only just over-taken them, and their lead on The Saturdays is still small (4%) compared The Sats lead of 25% on Sunday night. I don't think Maroon 5 will close that gap of '17k'.

The sales from Ladykiller and I Need A Dollar will be added to All Fired Up in tomorrows update. I Need A Dollar was only available to download as a pre-order only - am I right in saying it could not be downloaded seperately (I think I am) as It was a pre-order bundle? Therefore OCC have messed up somehow by including it in todays update. I'm expecting Ladykiller to be combined with All Fired Up too. It's happened before quite a few times this year, one case that sticks out the most for me was Calvin Harris's b-side to Bounce, 'Awooga'. They should get their best first week opening sales with All Fired Up, I'm hoping around 70-80k which will be good for them as they're percieved as this front-loaded act (which they have been, but the sales have been so much stronger compared to other first week sales). I'm not that fussed on this getting to #1, even if for half an hour it did seem like it was going to. A Top 3 with some very healthy sales (ala Ego and Up) will do fine for this. They need the dollar for promotion and PR for their next single and album.

I read it, I understood it. If you'd have read mine then you would understand that those other versions in the chart will also contibute to their current position, so they're probabbly still at #2. Falling yes, but they still have other versions to prop them up.

Again, The Sats have like 5 versions of the track in the iTunes chart.

That wasn't from PopJustice, it was coppied on there from Twitter, somewhere. Anyhoo it's already been confirmed that 'Ladykiller' and 'I Need A Dollar' will be combined anyway now. That's a great start for Pixie and The Saturdays for their sales! Wasn't expecting The Sats to start on 40k! So we're possibly looking at around 70-80k come Sunday if they don't go into free-fall? That would be their biggest first week sales to date, after Just Can't Get Enough did 60-something-k and Missing You did 50-something-k.

So iTunes have a tendency to list artists alphabetically? So it's not a human error then.. I think I worked it out correctly. I applied Spiideys theory to it where you divide the previous update by the current update then -100% which should give you the a % of how much it's climbed/fallen.

The label inputs the data into iTunes though surely? iTunes don't do it on the labels behalf.. as far as I'm aware

Her label will have set it like that though. iTunes don't program it in for them.

Which is also applicable to all 3 artists in this battle. All have EPs in the iTunes album chart and have various versions of the tracks floating around in the Top 500 etc. It sounds like they knew they were in the wrong all along and feared that they'd be completely sued or what not in court so resolved it mutually instead. Givng Avicii lead on the track though pretty much confirms there were communiction breakdowns (Leona tweeting that they'd done nothing wrong etc etc etc) which lead to SyCo believing they had the rights to the instrumental or what not. Maybe this was planned all along? It could have well been because if SyCo knew they had a case to fight and believed they were in the right they would have taken it to court - however beacuse they resolved it mutually and gave Aivii lead it makes me wonder whether it was a big publicity stunt. Didn't get them very far though did it (.. so far)!

I don't think they would have let Avicii take the lead on Leona's single if SyCo were in the right. They were clearly in the wrong which has damaged this singles reputation.

^^ I expect The Saturdays to be #1 in the mids tomorrow too, marginally. It happened with Missing You last year and All Fired Up is in a similar situation. The Sats are also doing another interview/webchat thing at 7pm on Wednesday on Capital FM.

I agree that the % are open to interpretation which I was trying to explain yesterday. As the #1s popularity increases everything else under it decreases giving the impression their popularity is dipping when it might be, it might not be though. There's no clarification at all, and I think the only thing that we can be connfident about is the gap between each position, not its %.

It will be interesting to see the sales at the end of the week. If The Sats can do over 70k I'll be impressed. The most they've sold on an opeing week was 60k for their #2 with Just Can't Get Enough back in 2009.

If that was the case (their 2nd album didn't sell more than 80k) then 2ys ago you would have been right, but they're still here. And if their last 'album' (EP, whatever) can sell 180k on 5 new tracks and the other 6 tracks featuring on their previous album, they should technically sell more than 200k. It's like at the start of the week people were like "The Satudays will struggle for Top 10". You only have to look at their previous releases to see how blind statements like that are.

Oh this again, the 'make or break' album. :lol: Which was also funnily their last album.. and the album before that.. Like Lee said they're hardly irrelevant. I think you must be getting them confused with the Sugababes.
