  1. Fascination was created for Girls Aloud primarily - then they got given all the Disney rejects (Miley Cyrus etc). It's no wonder they went out of business and had to merge back with Polydor.
  2. Completely agree with this. It's down to their management. Yes they get some of it right (OK I can't think of an example right now) but the magority I sware they just pick out of a hat. "When shall we release it... *picks out of the hat* MAY! When shall we promote it... *picks out of the hat* END OF JUNE! Shall we get you on Britains Got Tallent... *picks out of hat* NO!" They got it so right at the beginning (and I think that was down to Jayne), but I'll agree that she contributed to the balls-up of Wordshaker which lead to them parting ways.. only to join forces with their administrated label. They seemed to be clinging on to safe routes by going with Fascination Management and not 'shopping round' for a new team which they should have done. 3(4) albums in and they're still at the point where they're just "sailing along with the air" as you put it. It's so flustrating because the foundation is there, they're just not been pushed, and I think their team are relying on their 'celeb status' way too much.. no matter how many times Marvin appears in a flip video it wont sell your record. Notorious better do a u-turn soon when it picks up radio and video play properly or else this will be a complete laughing stock.
  3. #23 in the mids.. ouch. However, I've just been looking at artists above them and this is how it looks MIDWEEK - ARTIST/TRACK - ITUNES POSITION NOW #15 - Lady Gaga / Judas - #27 & #39 #17 - Lady Gaga / Born This Way - #23 #21 - Lady Gaga / Edge of Glory - #28 #22 - Adele / Rolling In The Deep - #24 The Sats are currently at #19 and everone above them in the mids is below them on iTunes. I think Notorious could climb a few places before the week is out. We'll get a better picture when we can see the full top 40 tomorrow in the Chart Update.
  4. No studio = no album = no promotion

    5th place out of 10 singles that sells 30k on opening for #8 is great. Just as a rough guideline, here are 2011 sales margins.. 30k - Top 10 placement 20k - Top 20 placement 10k - Top 40 placement Compare them with their singles from 2008 especially and compare them to how they may have charted in 2011.. Top 10 Just Can’t Get Enough – 64,785 (2) (2009) Top 10 Missing You – 57,157 (3) (2010) Top 10 Forever Is Over – 38,846 (2) (2009) Top 10 Higher – 32,499 (10) (2010) Top 10 Notorious - 30,273 (8) (2011) Top 15 Issues - 28,719 (4) (2009) Top 20 Ego – 26,959 (9) (2009) Top 20 Up - 26,593 (5) (2008) Top 40 If This Is Love - 14,990 (8) (2008) Top 40 Work – 14,902 (22) (2009)
  6. I think their popularity peak has been 39.9% on iTunes.
  7. Interesting!!
  8. Sugababes aren't signed to Polydor? The Sats really need to get out of Fascination Management. They really don't seem to push for The Sats half the time - and considering The Sats are the only (?) client of Fasc.Management they're not doing a great job in pushing Notorious so far.
  9. Yet another blow to the campaign. However, when someone anounced the line-up on Twitter they didn't mention them... And then... He even quoted 'Sugababes' haha.
  10. Sorry, my mistake.. 41 - 18 on Video play this week. Not Top 50 in the Airplay chart. (I'm actually pleased it's not in the Airplay chart, because If it was at #18 this week they should have had more stability on iTunes)
  11. #8 is good for a track that was released on air/on sale, especialy for a debut (considering most on air/on sale tracks peak weeks after the release), and may I add that they're the only British group in the Top 10. Hopefully this can stay Top 20 next week. 41 - 18 on Airplay this week. Not Top 50 in the Video chart.

Thanks for the info. I guess with sales being so low in the album charts, anything out-side of the Top 40 is going to have very close sales margins between positions? Hopefully it should re-enter the Top 100 this week with any luck.
  13. Dosen't that apply to any artist though? Not every artist is connected with BGT. I said 'mystery' simply because they seem to far too relaxed about Notorious in the chart this week dropping down the mids. Then they said that they have some promo coming up that they can't talk about yet - just speculating it's about BGT; And if it is, there's a strong chance they could appear on it next week as there are 5 shows. This is a forum after all, can't just not discuss something because they haven't been connected with the show. Fingers crossed! :)
  14. May 31 On Set With The Saturdays - MTV Hits from 6:30pm to 7:00pm June 05 The Saturdays: Headlines Live - Channel 4 from 11:25am to 12:00pm (And regarding the Britains Got Talent promo slot mystery, they'll be results shows with "special guest performing live on stage" on May 30th, 31st, June 1st, 2nd and 3rd)
  15. I honestly don't think it's made/will make any difference Lee. Sats have still been ahead of Beyonce all week on iTunes and in the mids so it would of hardly made any difference.
  16. I'm torn on this campaign. A half of me says, yes this was OA/OS, launched on one performance and debuted a few days before hand, Top 10 placing, fair enough. Then the half of me thinks just one or two more performances this week could have secured them a good few weeks in the Top 20 at least.
  17. Sales are always low mid-week which is why the Thurs mid-week sales were only 2k (like I've said 3 times now).
  18. Notoriously disastrous
  19. All this sales stuff and chart positions is starting to get a little tedious now. Whatever happens happens. Their management shouldn't really have taken a holiday on release week. They never learn. They let Girls Aloud have a holiday during The Loving Kind promo didn't they? They don't learn from their mistakes do they.
  20. Lowest sales come from Tuesday-Thursday so todays midweek reflected yesturdays 2k sales. It'll be Top 10 regardles. However it's doing far better than Missing You in the respect that it's not plummiting. I remember Missing You climbed to #2 then fell to #6 a few days after.
  21. Just finished this mix today. mJ8jLSafSos What do you think?
  22. I wouldn't pay that much attention to the figures going down because that 'Mr Saxobeats' popularity is increasing which means everything else under it will go down naturally. But yes, The Sats are decreasing the most. They need some promo a.s.a.p next week. They'll be safe for the Top 10 this week though, hopefully.
  23. 5 Alexandra Stan Mr Saxobeat (UK Radio Edit) 0.392473 6 Chris Brown Beautiful People (feat. Benny Benassi) [Main Version] 0.346300 7 Snoop Dogg & David Guetta Sweat (Snoop Dogg vs. David Guetta) [Remix] 0.337234 8 The Saturdays Notorious 0.331014 9 Swedish House Mafia Save the World (Radio Mix) 0.293907 #6, #7 and #8 are so close! The Sats are at an advantage here because it's not like they're #8 and the pop bar is magorly smaller than the one above - they're really all the same which means it could be neck and neck if it carries on like this. It's not just Notorious thta's going down either, it's #6, #7, #8 and #9 becuase of 'Mr Saxobeat' overtaking. If it stays like this untill Saturday when they're on Koko Pop, they might still be in with a chance of #5 or #6.
  24. Mid-week (Tues-Thurs) sales are always the lowest I wouldn't worry. It's weekend sales that are the most important.
  25. I expect it to fall to #9 some time today as the pop.bars are so close. Glad it's still #5 in the mids though. I'm guessing anywhere between #5 and #7 come Sunday.
