Sounds about right. They're the only girls in the world. Cough.

Weekly Sales (Albums)
Exactly. I see people a lot commenting how "if they'd have released it this week" or "if they'd have released it this quatre" it would have got to #1 etc etc. That's simply not the case. Just because for example 21,000 people baught (for example) All Fired Up one week and it got to #2, if it were to be released the week after it would not get 21,000. Could get more, could get less. Every week = different trading climate. However comparing 4th quatre sales to 2nd quatre sales can't be done as you have the Christmas effect taking place through the magority of the 4th quatre - there are no Christmas shoppers in the 2nd quatre.

I wasn't taking a jab at you Lee by the way. I just fail to understand consumer habbits. I'm trying to compare the reduction of a piece of music to a reduction of an item of clothing in my head. A customer will buy a reduced piece of clothing because they liked it bit would'nt want to buy it at full price. Whereas with music you can't apply that theory to this because with music at 99p, if you don't like it you don't buy it. And if you were to buy it at a reduced price then it would be buying it for the sake of it. That's my view.

'30 Days' (1st Single Discussion Thread) (Part 2)
I don't get this theory of if they droped the price it would climb into the Top 5. Beacuse surely, if someone liked the sound of it they'd pay 99p for it. If they don't like it I don't think they'd buy it for 79p for the sake of it. It worked with Notorious on a small scale, but that only got it back Top 30 didn't it?

'30 Days' (1st Single Discussion Thread) (Part 2)
Can't believe they're still at #2!   (picks up jaw) No way in hell is it going to last, but it is just a massive sign of how strong the fan-base is. I think we'll all agree if we were all asked a month ago how this was going to do, some would have said "Top 20" and some would have said "Just scape Top 10". And today it's sitting at #2 on the Chart Update. Amazing stuff. Next time they'll need to do more signings. They can make more profit off a CD single than a download. Fact. And if they're not capping the number of people who are at signings, you're talking possibly up to 1000 per signing going by the Glasgow event yesterday. Next week will be very interesting. The promotion on Friday and Saturday will more likely benefit them more next week, and now they've been bumped up to A-List on Radio 1 that is fantastic, considering they're at #33 on Airplay and #31 on TV Airplay as of 13th May. They're settings their sights on around #7 this week probabbly. It'll drop right down to #5 or #6 tomorrow as there's only 1300 sales separating the Top 5 at the moment. They're #9 on iTunes now as well.

'30 Days' (1st Single Discussion Thread) (Part 2)
To be honest, I think this single was a bit of a test in a way. It still shows that they have a solid fanbase and that their singles will sell just from a few radio appearances and mag spreads. It's going to out-peak and out-sell My Heart Takes Over so there shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks again for all the feedback guys! The Last Call mix is one of my favorites, really strikes a chord. I'll be honest, I don't know much else regarding the next single. But personally I can't wait for the next one! :yahoo:

They loved the Last Call mix! Perhaps  It just didn't quite come together. However I may revisit it now I have some time on my hands this week. The mastering is completely off so it'll be working from square 1 again.

Their management have been fantastic. Met up with them, and they wanted me to copmlete the mix. Unfortunately it was too late to include in the Remix EP - fingers crossed for future stuff though. Really do apreciate all of your comments!

You usually find when the EP falls, the single rises.

Not entirely sure. Depends how their scheduele goes with the US I'm guessing.

'30 Days' (1st Single Discussion Thread) (Part 2)
It is supposed to be their best yet. Unfortunately it's not the material they've done with Xenomania though.

'30 Days' (1st Single Discussion Thread) (Part 2)
Considering this is the first single to be released under the revised Midweek chart, I'd say on Wednesday it'll be at #5 or #6. I'm surprised that it's done as well as it has done with little airplay! The tv promo hasn't really kicked in yet either. #8 on iTunes, and #1 in the iTunes Albums chart. Not bad going!

Living For The Weekend - Fifth Album Discussion Thread
What they'll be planning on doing, is releasing their newer music internationally at the same time. It makes a lot more sense. That way hopefully when they've built up their profile in the US (all going well) they'll be able to simultaniously release the LP in the UK and the US.

'30 Days' (1st Single Discussion Thread) (Part 1)
Yes. It's just a way of the label guarenteeing a sale before it's actually available.

'30 Days' (1st Single Discussion Thread) (Part 1)
They've done the same thing with the magority of their single releases. Instead of the mailer on a Saturday, they release a bumber edition or a 'release special' on a Sunday to co-inside with the release of the single instead, which makes more sense. Gahh, I've accidently edited Lee's post instead of posting a new one  . Sorry Lee! Edit: Corrected!

'30 Days' (1st Single Discussion Thread) (Part 1)
The only way the 'Top 10 Effect' will work is if a large number of consumers actually think the product is worth buying. If they think it's shit compared to the rest of the Top 10, the likelyness of them purchasing is it pretty slim. Best example I can think of, those numerous Christmas #1 campaigns to block XFactor. They weren't in the Top 10 because they had a Top 10 Effect, nor did they sell a large amount in the end because it was Top 10.

LivePopBars are not as accurate anymore. iTunes changed their system so now it rounds up/down to the nearest 5%. That wasn't what I was getting at. iTunes operates the same in every country. It's the consumers buying habbits that make it 'different'.

I don't get how Irish and UK iTunes are different?
