  1. Am pleasantly surprised by just how good Disco is! I've no idea who will win, I'm just pleased to have an album that is so joyful, it is just what I needed at the moment.
  2. Kylie would need to be ahead in the first midweek if she is to win, I would imagine. Little mix likely to make gains through streaming. Will be interesting to see how the weeks promo helps Kylie.
  3. Kylie doubled her sales from the first midweek with Golden from 24k to 48k.
  4. Yeah Kylie has just announced a special edition double LP of 4,000 copies. I've brought it as the sound quality of double LPs is better than singles (plus it contains the 4 bonus tracks)
  5. Kylie confirmed for a radio 2 performance, Graham Norton and the One Show during release week, so she has some good promo slots lined up.
  6. I was very confident Kylie would win comfortably, but now I'm much less so. I actually think the majority of the public are even aware of Kylies singles or the albums release, her and her label really need to pull their finger out. A global livestream is going to be for fans only, and Graham Norton is a great slot, but it's not enough. I would expect her to perform at some stage of the week on the one show, but not sure she will get the coveted strictly slot due to Graham. But we shall see. I'm predicting 50k openings for both of them, roughly.
  7. I think Kylie should manage the no1. She really does need to get off her arse and promote though, even a performance on the one show ala Steps would be better than nowt. 'Magic' is definitely a song which can help sell an album, but it's not much use if people haven't heard it. I appreciate as a cancer survivor she has to be doubly careful during this pandemic, but I hope she can get herself out there a bit.
  8. Looks like only 1 cassette version so far from Kylie. Plenty of time to add more though.
  9. That is actually a REALLY intriguing chart battle. I think I'll wait until Kylies 2nd single before I decide who will win.
  10. Fleur East performing her song on this morning now. It's pretty catchy, can't help thinking it would have been good for Eurovision.
  11. 5. Take That 5/10 4. Greatest Showman 6/10 3. Muse 8/10 2. The 1975 8/10 1. Kylie 9/10 Those are the only 5 on the list that I've brougnt.
  12. I think there's been some fantastic albums this year - let's eat grandma, first aid kit, Kylie Minogue, Courtney Barnett, Kacey Musgraves, Robyn.....there's a lot of stuff I'll be listening too in years to come. Clearly the industry has some issues in getting people to buy physical products and I'm not sure how that will be overcome. Same with Dvds- I'm about to chuck most of mine out.
  13. They were on Graham Norton last night.
  14. Considering the performance was shown after 11pm, Kylie and Jacks 'music's too sad without you' has shot up very nicely. Can see this being the track from her album to do very well in the long run, it's a lovely song. They've still a performance on Michael McIntyre show which will rate a lot higher on the 24th.
  15. Although I'm definitely a Kylie fan, I'm also pretty straight forward - I absolutely hated 'Kiss Me Once', there's barely a half decent song on that album. This feels different, 'dancing' is lyrically really nice and the song, whilst taking a few lostens, is ingrained in my head. I do think it will have at least some appeal outside of her fanbase, and she hasn't had a song like that since 'all the lovers'.
  16. Am surprised that the Sam Smith song seems to be so well received here - i think it's dreadful. Using the saint / sinner / winner lyric in the 2nd verse, which has been done to death before is just utterly lazy writing.
  17. Gosh that Taylor Swift song is dreadful. Verses decent but such a generic, lazy chrous which has been done before (meghan trainor 'me too'). Trash.
  18. Hang on - I thought Steps had said yesterday that they were perfecting the dance routing for the new single in time for SNT? Can't believe they are performing 'tragedy' what a mistake.
  19. I can't stand Ed, but have literally just heard that song and I think it's by far the best thing he's ever done.
  20. Bruno Mars at 36 and Kylie at 96? That just doesn't make sense at all.
  21. After winning last years betting, and actually making a killing by cashing out on justin bieber at just the right time, I have staked my cash on clean bandit - got 20/1 on Thursday. Was going to put a small secondary bet on Mariah, but it's just not going to happen. And I think this year the 2 big charity singles will cancel each other out. I'm very confident clean bandit will get this with ease.
  22. I agree - i think it's a very mediocre song. Her fans are falling over themselves to praise it, naturally, but I don't think it's strong enough to garner decent radio support. I expect it to fall rapidly on itunes.
  23. Was Louisa an obvious winner? I thought there were a few with a shout particularly the first few weeks. The only winner who was the only contender from week 1 that I can remember is sam bailey, she seemed to be featured every week on gogglebox as well. Even Leona didn't appear as contender until a few weeks in iirc
  24. Over on Amazon digital, the NHS choir is no1 and no2 (and no1 in digital albums). Justin Bieber is no5 and no58.
  25. To be fair, the NHS campaign hasn't been about stopping the cuts (although I'm sure they all believe in this) but more to highlight a show of support for the NHS and it's staff.
