Fleur East performing her song on this morning now. It's pretty catchy, can't help thinking it would have been good for Eurovision.

YTD T40 Albums (with estimated sales)
I think there's been some fantastic albums this year - let's eat grandma, first aid kit, Kylie Minogue, Courtney Barnett, Kacey Musgraves, Robyn.....there's a lot of stuff I'll be listening too in years to come. Clearly the industry has some issues in getting people to buy physical products and I'm not sure how that will be overcome. Same with Dvds- I'm about to chuck most of mine out.

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 9th November 2018
Considering the performance was shown after 11pm, Kylie and Jacks 'music's too sad without you' has shot up very nicely. Can see this being the track from her album to do very well in the long run, it's a lovely song. They've still a performance on Michael McIntyre show which will rate a lot higher on the 24th.

Poor start for Sheridan Smith, though not surprised. The material sounded dreadful on her show last night and sadly, she has become quite annoying.

I think 'the greatest showman reimagined' although sounds awful to my ears, has the potential to be a massive seller. It's not released for another 5 weeks but I can see it spending a lot of weeks at the no1 position.

Any Kylie update? Hoping sales starting going up a bit now her UK tour has started.

I think MNEK is really talented, but I can't help thinking there's a lot of issues going on which essentially boil down to him being incredibly difficult to market. It's a shame but are the general UK public ready for a black, gay pop star? Are black people ready for a black, gay pop star? I really hate writing that, but I don't think they are.

Those Years and Years album sales are way lower than I expected. It's not a patch on their debut though.

Apparently there are 2500 vinyl copies, with 1000 of them to be in stock tomorrow. I think 2500 is enough for top 40 atm?

Kylie sold 24k day 1 (which would have included all the fan bundle preorders) and sold another 7k yesterday, so it is clearly stretching beyond her fanbase. Deservedly so, it's a fantastic album.

Although I'm definitely a Kylie fan, I'm also pretty straight forward - I absolutely hated 'Kiss Me Once', there's barely a half decent song on that album. This feels different, 'dancing' is lyrically really nice and the song, whilst taking a few lostens, is ingrained in my head. I do think it will have at least some appeal outside of her fanbase, and she hasn't had a song like that since 'all the lovers'.

He wasn't as 'known' then. I am not saying i don't like him, but the impression I get is a lot of people have been turned off from him recently.

The problem with Sam is, unlike Adele or Ed Sheeran, he has a strong unlikeability factor for a lot of people, and I think that puts some people off. Certainly I was expecting at least 150k first week for him as a minimum.

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 6th October 2017
Am surprised that the Sam Smith song seems to be so well received here - i think it's dreadful. Using the saint / sinner / winner lyric in the 2nd verse, which has been done to death before is just utterly lazy writing.

Gosh that Taylor Swift song is dreadful. Verses decent but such a generic, lazy chrous which has been done before (meghan trainor 'me too'). Trash.

Will Joseph Cook seems to be one of those gay singers who the gay press cream themselves over (see that Bright Light idiot for a prime example) yet noone buys because the material is woefully substandard.

I think that given the amount of gigs Rat Boy have done, all the NME covers, no15 was a little disappointing given the low sales. Not awful, but i expected it to sell 10 thousand 1st week.

So happy to see the Sherlocks in the top 5, great album. I thought it might perform as disappointingly as Ratboy, but it should just about stay top 10.
