Back then I spent my days watching MTV Europe, VH1, MCM Top, VIVA, and pretty much every music channel I could find on cable. I grew obsessed with Pop music and I was religiously watched the Portuguese Album Top 30 every Sunday, it was only natural I would start my own Top 30. Originally titled The Platinium Chart, yes misspelt and everything - although I did correct it within a few weeks, it even spawned a 3 volume compilation mixtape and quite a few yearly awards ceremonies - we'll get to those later in the year. I've rescued the charts from my mother's house this last Christmas and I felt like it would be a good addition to this little corner of Buzzjack. More facts and little details will show up over the course of the weeks, including peaks into the above-mentioned compilations and awards ceremonies.

Reconfirmed as someone else got to my original choice first. :kink:

Confirmed!

What a crap heat from the previews so far. Echoing everyone else by saying I'm not excited at all. Still, here's an attempt at prefix DTF: Drängarna & Mohombi AC: Faith & Anis Don Demina 5th: Mariette 6th: Amanda 7th: Albin Drängarna are clearly winning this Heat.

I thought I peaked this past year! Shame Gatekeeper Julie flopped or Vülkyria could've been in the EOY Top 10. Still, a successful year!

Rome 2021 Oh well...

F*** me, 'Andromeda' is a TUNE and a HALF. Biggest song I've heard for Eurovision since 'Euphoria'. They simply HAVE to choose Elodie.

I was going to echo the sentiment that it's a shame the other dolls don't have any lines, but then I remembered that I made zero effort to listen to any of their solo output so I can't be mad that Nicole has all the lines in this song. And rightly so, it's a BOP and a half and it takes me back to the days of "When I Grow Up" but with both feet firmly in 2020.

Well, just to turn the tide i'm still really loving this.

It's Dua Lipa's third week overall after leading the pack on Christmas Week. Lizzo remains at #3 after a very successful re-release campaign for "Juice". It is her second Top 3 single in the country. In at #4, Becky Hill scores her third single as a lead artist to hit the Vülkyrian charts, her tenth if counting her collaborations with DJs Oliver Heldens, Watermät, MK, Jonas Blue, Weiss, Sigala and Meduza. She has two #1s under her name ("Overdrive" with Oliver Heldens, and "Wish U Well" with Sigala) but none as a lead artist. Previous single "Losing", reached the Top 15. From the Charlie’s Angels soundtrack, "Eyes Off You" by M-22, completes the Top 5 this week by dropping one position. Climbing into the Top 10 this week are two dance collaborations by Jax Jones & Tove Lo, and Franky Wah & Jessie Ware. “Jacques” is the lead single from the Snacks (Supersized) album – released in late November 2019 to coincide with the second single release from Tove Lo’s own album Sunshine Kitty. “Time After Time” is the second Franky Wah Top 40 hit, after Buzzjack Song Contest winner “Hide”, but his first Top 10 hit single. They both reach new peaks at #8 and #10, respectively. A new entry at #9, “24 Hours”, is Georgia’s second Top 10 single after #1 hit “Started Out”. Previous singles “About Work The Dancefloor” and “Never Let You Go” both reached the Top 20. There are three other New Entries further down the chart: Tom Ferry returns to the charts after his massive #1 single “Off My Mind” with Lisa Ajax represented the country in BJSC. “Own The Night” enters at #15. Unknown project CYNEMA have a hit with “Radio Love” entering at #24; and BBC Sound of 2020 winner Celeste enters at #35 with “Stop This Flame”. Official ●● Playlist

She takes over Dua Lipa once more, who slips to #2. The two tracks were head-to-head all week long but a few more copies meant a return to #1 for Eilish. After performing on VLK1's Toppen av Poppen: Nyårsdag Special, Eilish also experiences a surge of renewed interest in worldwide hit "bad guy". The track had originally peaked just outside the Top 40 but re-enters this week at a new peak of #31, no doubt aided by the slow New Year's sales and discounts available on popular download sites. Also taking advantage of a slow week was Lizzo. Her label Warner Music Vülkyria struck bronze by re-releasing the track onto the radio and having Lizzo promote it in the country during this first week of 2020. "Juice" thus enters straight at #3, when a year ago it didn't crack the Top 75 upon its original release. At #10 is "Like This". The multi-week #1 took Vülkyrian dancefloors by storm this past year and gave Sofi Tukker their second biggest hit in the country, only surpassed in sales by "Drinkee", their Buzzjack Song Contest debut. Our third and last New Entry this week is "God is a Dancer" by Tiësto and Mabel. Another dancefloor anthem that puts together one of the most respected DJs with the biggest seller of 2019. As radios begin to give the song more daytime plays, the sky is the limit for the duo. Official ●● Playlist

It's good to be back! Will put more effort into it now, hopefully it'll last longer than my previous two (three?) attempts! Have a look at that Coldplay remix, it's nothing groundbreaking but it spruces some more life into the song. I'm seemingly a sucker for these types of remixes, Hold My Girl and Someone You Loved also received similar treatment. And also Ven Pa Ca has been an absolute anthem these past few months. Even my boyfriend keeps singing it around the house so thanks for sharing that one! ;)

Dua Lipa sees the New Year in at Number 1 with "Don't Start Now", the first single of her soon-to-be-released sophomore album. It's her second week at the top after winning the race to become Vülkyria's Christmas Number 1 of 2019. Billie Eilish nabbed the top spot the following week and drops to #2 again with "everything i wanted", which has now become bigger in the country than worldwide smash "Bad Boy". "Sweat" rounds off this week's Top 3, SONIKKU and LIZ's Buzzjack Song Contest bid that took the Vülkyrian charts by storm. Belgian newcomer Angèle enters the Top 5 on only her second week, while former #1 "So Blue" by Sondr drops to #9, the dancefloor hit that shamelessly samples that Eiffel 65 hit from 1999. Jonas Brothers and Niall Horan both take advantage of the slower week of the year and enter the chart at numbers 12 and 13, respectively. Both songs are their only second hits in the Vülkyrian charts after "Sucker" and "Slow Hands" graced the lower ends in 2019 and 2017. Former Fifth Harmony band members Ally Brooke and Camilla Cabello follow at numbers 15 and 16, both rising slowly but surely. Albanian Eurovision hopeful Elvana Gjata debuts at #22 with ethnopop stomper "Me tana", which will sadly not grace the European stage in May. Swedish star Agnes follows her at #24 with her second solo entry in the chart, "I Trance", the double A-side which together with "Nothing Can Compare" - this week at #8 - serves as the second single of her latest EP. First single "Limelight" was one of the biggest tracks of 2019 in Vülkyria with a total of 390,000 sales. Another one of the biggest tracks of the past year slides out of the Top 30 to #33. "Gatekeeper Julie" failed to impress Buzzjack audiences and did not qualify to the Final of BJSC 120 but it was at the top spot here four consecutive weeks, amassing a total of 340,000 sales during the last year. Both these songs pale in comparison to Mabel's "Don't Call Me Up" which is undoubtedly the biggest track of 2019 with sales of 660,000. At #36 is our last new entry of the week. "Adore You" gives Harry Styles his first hit, he's only the second former One Direction band member to crack the Vülkyrian charts, after Niall Horan who already claimed two hits. Dropping off the chart and being left behind in 2019 were "Bad To You", the collaboration between Ariana Grande, Normani and Nicki Minaj for the Charlie's Angels movie soundtrack - this marks the first time the chart does not include any songs in which Grande is the leading artist since "No Tears Left To Cry"; unlikely hit "Break Up Bye Bye" by the cast of RuPaul's Drag Race UK; and "Every Day's Like Christmas" by Kylie Minogue which became a seasonal hit in Vülkyria after being used in a popular advert but lost the coveted Christmas Number 1 title to Dua Lipa settling for #4. Its total sales are now up to a festive 130,000.
