Hey babe - I think Gabriella was very lucky to hit #1 - there was no real top spot contender and she happened to be just there so she got it. I do think 'Golden' is his best single and then 'Watermelon Sugar' and then 'Adore You' but this one is very quirky and fun so it's doing rather well. Lana has benefitted from a week when I got 'Born To Die' on vinyl. It really reconnected me with her sound and made her reentry. Not expecting her to reach any dizzy heights though... Haha, I love how fiercely you love 'Lucid' but it's had an EXCELLENT run here - ten weeks on and two at the top, it's only naturally she's making her way down now. It's someone off of the Popjustice Forums that set up the label specifically to press all those fabulous 2000s to early 2010s Pop records we all love. I hope it's a big success for them as I'd love Girls Aloud's catalogue to be pressed too sometime in the future!

haha let's see how Gabrielle does this week - I never know who'll top it until I sort all the songs out with the preference revealer. Even Georgia still has a chance! Get 'Into You' on rotation NOW!! It's a great bop, Mel C is on top form. Haha Gaga hasn't released anything past the 911 video so I'm elevating Replay to single status as it's my favourite on the album - I tend to extend an album's campaign way past the point the artist stops haha. 'Lucid' should just about stabilise for now haha, I can't see it dropping much further but let's see! Thanks xx

I LOVE Ross Quinn, one of my favourite BJSC discoveries in a while. I really like "Listen!!!" though, it's still got those 80s vibes, just new wave-y or so. I'm quite enjoying what they're doing now. I finally listened to 'Star Maps', it's ok - it definitely feels like they've evolved since, but I rather enjoyed Sanctuary! 'Lucid' seems to have peaked for me - dropped a bit more now oops! Yeah I've held back on Fever - she had Levitating just off its peak and Prisoner had just come on, I didn't want to saturate it with Dua's songs. Then the remix with Kylie so I held it back a while haha - proper into it now though, love the video as well! 'Easy' is good yeah, but also peaked I feel - plus I do think the album version is far superior - it might stabilise and stop dropping soon though! :D

Heya love, i still have to listen to Star Maps - promise i will!! :lol: Absolutely adore Slow Dancing - can't believe they're churning out a new single already though! Georgia really making you proud this last chart haha! Loving Gabrielle Aplin's track - first of hers I properly enjoyed apart from a remix about 6 years ago ha! 'Easy' and 'Lucid' are still on high rotation but getting replaced by other tracks quickly haha. I still love them though, in spite of the drop. Same for 'Levitating' and 'Golden', although I'm a little bit more tired of these two oops! Harry's new single is a joy though! Smith & Thell's new one is nice, a bit of an odd choice to launch their album with though when they've had much stronger singles in 'Goliath' and even 'Year of The Young'! I've only got the Picture Disc which sounds fairly decent. Can't comment on the other versions as I don't have them but traditionally Picture Discs have lower quality sound. Don't think there's any plans to re-release the vinyl in a sleeve - some fans have made their own from an online service which is probably your best bet!

Guess I'll just tack Replay onto my regular playlist and make it a single myself (same for Sour Candy in a couple months. I'll be damn if I don't carry this campaign into 2022 by myself tickets for my zoom one-man chromatica ball available soon)

I've only really listened to one other of her singles - yet to give her album a spin but I'm loving 'LUCID', it's very Chromatica. 'Regardless' is a BOP - thrilled to have Rudimental back on my charts. I'm loving this new Oliver Heldens track - might be my favourite of his since 'Gecko', although 'Break This Habit' was also very good.

If Gaga would've released it as a single it would've been a worldwide radio hit right now, but I'm really enjoying Rina's take on it. I expect good things from her this year. Yeah Gwen suffered at the hands of all the Xmas songs but I'm loving her little "return" - love the video too! 'Easy' has been a fun ride - the original version was a massive grower, and this remix seems to be the same. I wasn't too fond of Kacey's vocals on it but now it's the only way the song goes in my head ha! - In a Dream remains a BOP and I wish he'd made a video for it! I think my next Troye add will probably be STUD tho :kink: Georgia is back in full swing - loving her take on it, really beautiful version of RUTH. You should give Roosevelt a try! I bumped into his previous single on New Music Friday and I've been loving it! With Millie Turner, Phantoms and Sarah Close I haven't listened to any other tracks by them apart from these ones, still have to explore but I'll keep your suggestions close! xx

A whole twenty years have passed since my very first chart. Those very early days when MTV, VH1, VIVA and a whole bunch of international music channels were my bible, shaped not only my musical tastes but also my own journey as a person. It was love at first sight with Kylie Minogue's career, Britney filled the vacancy the Spice Girls left a few years prior, while Janet taught me to appreciate history and legacy. A quick detour to University expanded my musical horizons to the world of indie and alt-rock but moving to the UK in 2010 reconnected me to the Pop sensibilities of the UK Singles Chart which I had so often listed to on the Portuguese radio years before. Cheryl Cole (and an immersive dive into Girls Aloud's back-catalogue) and Saturday nights spent watching artists such as Ellie Goulding, Melanie C and Nicola Roberts at G-A-Y settled me firmly in the LGBT community and a few misadventures with Eurovision were inescapably soundtracked by Loreen's Euphoria. Deep House was all the rage and dark times might have ventured ahead but Ariana Grande taught me to focus on myself and she saw me through to these last few years with a renewed love for music of all kinds and nationalities, with my ever-present Kylie fittingly book-ending these two fabulous decades with a healthy dose of Disco. My charts have had many a title ("The Platinum Chart", "Vülker's UK Top 40", "Vülkentopplistan" and "Vülkyria's Official Top 40" - to name a few) but now I shift focus to the music itself.
