Sunday Chart Predictions
Poor Sufjan looks like he'll just miss out on Top 20 :(

Sunday Chart Predictions
Rap can be fantastic if done properly (OutKast, Kanye, Jay-Z, Nas to name a few). But sadly, the horrible type of rap that tends to better in the charts tends to be by vastly inferior artists and as such, some awful awful songs (Flo Rida, Pitbull etc). Fantastic to see Ronson #1, hope he holds on all week!

next weeks number one album
Poor xx, in an ideal world, they'd climb to #1. But I'll be amazed if Linkin Park don't have the #1 in the bag, despite Catalyst underperforming.

Oh, which Kanye song is charting? Is it Power?
- Cee Lo Green - F**k You!

Sunday Chart Predictions
The Olly song is absolutely appalling, so I'd quite like Katy to do it! Can't see it happening though :(

Sufjan Stevens // The Age of Adz
Extremely excited for this :o

OF MONTREAL FALSE PRIEST
Heimdalsgate is my favourite too! Although I love the whole Hissing Fauna album. The earlier stuff is very twee, but its okay on the whole, and Satanic panic is great. The newie isn't bad actually, some dodgy moments as always, but an improvement on Skeletal Lamping.

Kanye West 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy'
I like that, but I think I prefer Power. This album is going to be AMAZING.

Kanye West 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy'
New name: Dark Twisted Fantasy. I like very much!

Kanye West 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy'
According to Pitchfork, "Good Ass Job" is no longer the title, and there's a new single coming, either "Lost In The World" or "All Of The Lights". The Yorke / Reznor inspired lyrics sound very interesting too. Maybe Power is now just a hype single, albeit a fantastic one? Can't wait for this album, so excited for it, his previous 4 have all been masterpieces.

Robyn - Body Talk
I can't find this anywhere :(. If it is better than Part 1, then I'm massively looking forward to it though!

Linkin Park - A Thousand Suns - September 14th
Don't mind The Catalyst actually, new album could be interesting. Hybrid Theory was one of the first albums I ever bought, so they'll always be somewhat special to me!

Ne-Yo 'Libra Scale' | Sept '10
My thoughts EXACTLY. Nothing on Closer.
-
Big Boi 'Sir Lucious Left Foot'
Possibly the best album since Late Registration? Certainly since Tha Carter III
-
Kele - The Boxer - 21st June (Kele from Bloc Party solo)
So disappointed in this, hope its not the beginning of a decline for the main band. On The Lam is OK, the rest is all just a bit meh.

Arcade Fire 'The Suburbs' | 02-08-10
Love it already, especially Sprawl II, We Used To Wait and The Suburbs. Obviously no Funeral, but I think some people are being a bit unfair on Neon Bible. It wasn't THAT bad, it was just never going to be as good as its predecessor. Strings, as always, are amazing from Mr Pallett

Mercury Prize 2010
I hope Mumford & Sons don't win. For me, their really overrated and remind me too much of a (bad) Fleet Foxes. Its not even that I don't like them, I enjoy the singles, but the album is a bit samey. Dizzee is a surprise, its easily his worst (most commercial) album, even if it is still better than 90% of the rap genre at the moment. Paul Weller is a surprise too, but other than that, they do seem to be playing it rather safe. The xx / Marling for the win, please.

Albums that did click years after you first heard them
Funeral by Arcade Fire never really clicked for me until about a year after having it, similarly with Purple Rain. Again, I never fully got EMG when I first bought it either, since my first experience with the Manics was Holy Bible (which in itself was a grower), but now love it.

Sunday Chart Predictions
So glad Arcade Fire look like theyre getting #1, although given they went so close last time, I think I'll wait until Sunday before I congratulate them. The Ne-Yo song I'm very surprised at doing so well. To me, its just a massively inferior rip-off of Lady GaGa's "Monster".

Sunday Chart Predictions
This has to be easily one of the worst #1s of all time. Sincerely hope (ideally) Gaga or Plan B can climb to #1, but I unfortunately don't see that happening. :(

Will this ever be beaten?
Isn't Coldplay's next album supposed to be their last? I think I read somewhere they would release it this year then retire. If so, that could be enough to beat it? Most likely not though. Otherwise I (sadly) don't see that record being broken anytime soon. Oh, actually maybe a Take That / Robbie reunion album? The 2 TT albums since their comeback have had huge one week sales, maybe the reunion would be enough to push it over the 700k mark.

Who's overdue a #1 single?
Agree with a lot of people saying Muse, Bloc Party, Killers, Amy Winehouse etc. I'd also say Radiohead definitely deserve a #1, and possibly Vampire Weekend in the future. And you never know, one year The Pogues might finally get there too.

Sunday Chart Predictions
I'm actually disappointed Florence is heading to #1, I love the album but seeing VW there would be so much better. Still the best top 2 albums I can remember for a long long time.

iTunes Chart: January 2010
Dire top 2, if Florence could somehow climb it would be fantastic. Though I'm surprised by its sudden popularity. Similarly in the albums, could they finally get the #1 MJ denied her in the summer? :o
