  1. After today you could be forgiven for thinking Atkinson was a closet Chelsea fan.
  2. Retrospective bans for diving would put a stop to Young / Bale etc doing this. Second weekend in a row the refs have essentially killed off a game by buying his dive.

The Chelsea fans really have not done themselves proud at all, the silence was impeccably observed at Old Trafford earlier today, so well done United / Villa fans. As for the football, after Mata's "goal" I will be shocked if the media don't now fully pick up on the issue of poor officiating decisions / technology and force the issue with the FA. It is becoming an absolute shambles that a sport as rich as football is not using all the technology available to it. Look at rugby video replays for tries, Hawkeye in tennis, its obvious that it WORKS and would make the referees job so much easier. But as long as the FA / UEFA are happy to charge Wenger £40,000 and hit him with a 3 match ban for questioning the referee after the Milan match, whereas Porto get away with a £20,000 for racist chanting, then I doubt anything truly constructive will ever happen.

Well done Nico Rosberg, deserved victory for him this weekend and very pleased he finally managed to get that maiden win. Would have been a more interesting last couple of laps had Button's pitstop not gone awry though, not that today had some of the closest wheel to wheel action I've seen in any race for many years. Schumacher also unlucky, I reckon he was a shoe-in for a podium otherwise.

I think its a pretty good use of the sample, and the synths in the background especially during the outro are GLORIOUS. Besides, Daft Punk essentially did the exact same thing to Cola Bottle Baby. Also, "Theraflu" has thankfully been renamed "Way Too Cold", the original name was woeful.
  7. This could well be absolutely epic.

I am very late to the party on this one, SHAME ON ME, but it is all kinds of wonderful
  9. ^ I'd pretty much agree with that, except switch WHU and Brum.
  10. Reading all but promoted after tonight's win, and if Southampton play as they do then they should have absolutely no problem keeping West Ham at arms length. Hopefully either Blackpool or Brighton go up through the playoffs and not a snoozefest team like Middlesbrough, Cardiff, Birmingham.
  11. I think Wigan should have enough about them to survive, anytime I glanced at the United match on Wednesday it seemed to be waves of blue shirts pouring forward every time. Hopefully their recent good form hits a brick wall on Monday though. Wolves are gone, QPR I still think will go down and then one of Bolton or Blackburn.
  12. I actually didn't realise this was a proper album, and just assumed it was going to be a rehash of Pink Friday, although I am sure I am not the only one to have made that mistake. Come On A Cone and Beez are my highlights, but I still can't decide what to make of Roman Holiday, its a bit of a mess. Definitely better than Pink Friday, I think Did It On Em would sit lovely on this album.
  13. Monday 9th April Everton vs. Sunderland 15:00 1-1 Newcastle vs. Bolton 15:00 3-0 Tottenham vs. Norwich 15:00 2-0 Aston Villa vs. Stoke 17:30 1-1 Fulham vs. Chelsea 20:00 1-2 Tuesday 10th April Blackburn vs. Liverpool 20:00 2-2 Wednesday 11th April Man City vs. West Brom 19:45 2-1 Wigan vs. Man Utd 19:45 0-3 Wolves vs. Arsenal 19:45 0-3 QPR vs. Swansea 20:00 0-2
  14. I knew this result would be all about Man City "imploding" and not about the fact that Arsenal were absolutely fantastic today. The scoreline could and should have easily been about 3-0 and it wouldn't have flattered them. Vermaelen clearing off the line for them, RVP hitting the post twice, Walcott hitting the post etc etc. I am amazed Balotelli didn't get sent off earlier for the horrible challenge on Song, and even more surprised Mancini left him on long enough to get the second yellow. Just imagine if we had fit full backs all season, I think we would have been just short of United, but certainly able to challenge for second place :( QPR were very unfortunate with the red card / penalty, but they seemed happier to play today as an exercise in limiting the damage to their goal difference with 10 men behind the ball rather than go for a goal, and for that reason (and because Hughes is in charge) I'd love to see them go down.
  15. Blackburn vs. Man Utd 1-4
  16. Aston Villa vs. Chelsea 15:00 1-1 Everton vs. Norwich 15:00 2-0 Fulham vs. West Brom 15:00 2-1 Man City vs. Sunderland 15:00 1-0 QPR vs. Arsenal 15:00 0-4 Wigan vs. Stoke 15:00 1-1 Wolves vs. Bolton 15:00 0-1 Sunday 1st April Newcastle vs. Liverpool 13:30 3-2 Tottenham vs. Swansea 16:00 3-1
  17. Stiliyan Petrov has been diagnosed with Acute Leukamia. I have no idea whether it is AML or ALL or what stage his disease is at, but he may only have a few weeks left if it is bad. I hope everything is okay for him :(
  18. Liverpool have now lost, what, 5 of their last 6 matches? For a "big club" that's completely shambolic, and I think if it was anyone other than Dalglish at the helm, they'd be out on their ear by now. Bought terribly, playing terribly, though that's probably because they were "tired" in midweek. Sadly for Liverpool, nobody would have the balls to sack The King, though I think a return for Rafa (or even bring in AVB) would be worthwhile.

After today I will be astounded if Perez isn't in a red car in China. Stunning drive, got the decisions correct bar coming in same lap as Alonso, which if he did he would surely have won the race at a canter, but going on the hard tyres was a great call. His inexperience did show somewhat when he spun behind Alonso at the end. At least he should have plenty of more opportunities to push for victory in the future. I have always tried to defend Massa, but he was frankly embarrassing today. Another lap or 2 on the race and he'd have been lapped. Unlucky for Jenson, but once again he seemed to have edged Hamilton in terms of race pace, obviously though they were miles apart on the track. Its good to see Red Bull are not going to waltz away this year again, it actually seems like this season could be as unpredictable as 2010.

An old mate of mine from school will be on this tonight, he should hopefully go through! Jessie J is predictably awful.
  21. Teenage Dream is an atrocious album bar E.T. and Firework. Part of Me is also all kinds of awful, I still can't quite fathom how she is so successful with such average/poor songs, especially in America. ANYWAY I don't think its right to compare Marina to the Perry, they'll never command the same level of attention, sadly.

Federer beats Isner in the final of Indian Wells to draw level with Nadal on 19 Masters Titles. He is also moving ever closer to taking back the #2 spot from Rafa. I'd love him to keep this run of form going and possibly even get the last 2 weeks at #1 he needs to surpass Sampras.
  24. She is just so beautiful. Primadonna is great.
  25. The album is stunning, not as immediate as Teen Dream and maybe lacks a song on a par with "Norway", but still lovely stuff all round.
