Tottenham vs Arsenal
Arsenal will do it, they have a stronger team, and considering our first choice back 4 hasn't started together ONCE this season, I'd say the criticism of our defence is a bit unfair, especially considering Santos and Mertesacker are still bedding in to PL. I think Arsenal will be 3rd this season, which I would gladly have taken at the start of the season.

Champions League / Europa League 2011-2012
I expect Arsenal, Chelsea, Milan and Barca to book their place in the second round. I can actually see Barca finishing second in their group and getting one of the English teams (probably us) in the next round. :o

Massa and Hamilton AGAIN. Don't think either was to blame this time though. I loved Lewis admitting they haven't spoken in AGES though

One of Liverpool's big problems is a lack of playing time for Gerrard, his experience while bedding in Henderson and Adam I think would have prevented you throwing away some of the points you have. I'm interested to see how Newcastle end up doing, I don't think for a second they'll get top 4, but top 6/7 isn't beyond the realms of possibility.

Luckiest #1's?
Empty Souls is great and I actually really liked that Ashanti song back in the day. Would have been much better as the 1000th #1. I think if downloads were allowed back then (were they?) then Elvis may not have managed to beat her or Steve, but might have done enough over the Manics still.

Premier League / Football League Thread 2011-12
I know everyone goes on about keeping RVP fit (glass-ankles!) and how our season would fall apart without him... but can you imagine a major injury to Suarez or Rooney? I think their respective sides would also find goals a bit harder to come by. Gervinho and Walcott are stepping up to the plate nicely, Ramsey is beginning to look the player he was becoming pre-Shawcross, and Park scores a very Henry-esque finish in the CC, will be interesting to see how he develops. Also, I'd give Mertesacker the benefit of a full season before judging him, he's a vastly experienced German international, it'll just take him some time to bed in, look at Koscielny, he's really stepped up this year. Sure, even look at Vidic's start at United before he bedded in! Santos is a bit stop-gap until Gibbs can recover / mature. Chelsea just need to get used to AVB's style of play and they will be fine (and maybe a new CB wouldn't help - JT past it and Luiz is just a rocket). As for 2nd, 3rd and 4th I think it will be Chelsea and Arsenal fighting it out with Man Utd, with Liverpool 5th and Tottenham 6th. I just feel that the experience of Arsenal and Chelsea of being consistently there will tell over the season, while United's midfield is so average that they could slip back and get caught by the pack. Citeh sadly look just too strong at this stage :( Oh, and I watched the Barcelona match tonight, and Messi hadn't scored in his previous 3 appearances, so his goal tally for the year finally dipped below a 1:1 average. A quick hat-trick later and he made it like 72 in 71. MINDBLOWING.

The Drugs Don't Work is miles better than BS. Aside from it, most of Urban Hymns leaves me massively underwhelmed.

Formula 1 // 2011 season
I agree about the accident, and the fact he hasn't broken 100 points yet this season speaks volumes. Also, I constantly feel sorry for Heidfeld, that man just can never catch a break. I still can't believe Renault replaced him with Senna (!!?) this season. Another bore victory for Seb tomorrow, waltzing away from the pack, while the real action happens for 2-5 is on the cards I think. MSC should be the man to watch tomorrow for best value for entertainment.

I am in shock, but delighted! :o RVP has 28 in 27 this year. He *should* be in for a shout for player of the year, that record is comparable with Messi / Ronaldo, and he's playing in a supposedly "struggling" team. Phenomenal.

Luckiest #1's?
I'd agree with The Joker, poor Groove Is In The Heart robbed by a ridiculous rule :( Also, didn't Timbaland beat that appalling Kate Nash song by like 7 copies or something ridiculous back in 07? Not necessarily lucky, but I can't see what makes it any less "lucky" than say, Orson during low sales or Example.

I hope Terry gets the book thrown at him. Sleeping with your team mates wife, and now this incident, I am mystified as to how Capello and AVB can continue to back him so publicly? The man is scum (and I think he gets away with a bit more than he should on the pitch), and a terrible example to set as both club captain and national captain. Ideally, he'd be hit with a massive ban and stripped of both captaincies. It'll be interesting to see the reaction he gets against Arsenal tomorrow, hopefully a combination of this situation and David Luiz having an ability to self-destruct that would make our defenders jealous will result in a cheeky Arsenal win! Still though, wouldn't be surprised if Chelsea bossed it and won comfortably :(

Formula 1 // 2011 season
I think a combination of Alonso being Ferrari's darling and Hamilton's fondness for Massa's rear wing has contributed to his poor form / low points tally really. As much as I was a Massa fan back in 08, I think it's time for him to move on and have someone with a stronger personality come in for him. I highly doubt he'll ever win another race. Would LOVE Jenson at Ferrari, but don't see it happening due to the new conract he just signed, so ideally a fit again Kubica seems the most logical choice, especially if Renault want to continue the Senna / Petrov combination. A part of me would love Schumacher to go back to Ferrari, to really pit himself against Alonso again and to ultimately prove if he still has it or not. Hamilton has also now officially split with Nicole Scherzinger, no doubt this will be used as the excuse for his abysmal performances. He's had more incidents than Liuzzi this year, and that's an impressive achievement. If it were any other of the drivers at the top teams having so many incidents etc I doubt they'd still have a seat. ANOTHER penalty in India for ignoring yellow flags? Hopefully next year McLaren and Ferrari improve so Jenson and Fernando can challenge Vettel a bit more.

Korn - Narcissistic Cannibal
Korn were my favourite band when I was growing up, and up until 2002 I thought they were really were untouchable (har har). After that, I think they lost their way a bit, but this sounds pretty great. May actually investigate the new album!

I don't have a problem with the instrumentals throughout, but agree that editing it down does make it somewhat more... sumptuous. Such a good album.
