album is awesome a real music fan's album if you know what i mean

i think this decade has been just as strong as any other decade. mainstream pop music has been very exciting, with artists such as beyonce, lady gaga and rihanna stepping into the larger than life pop idol shoes once filled by the likes of prince, madonna and michael jackson - whilst the 90's pop scene was dominated largely by boy/girl next door archetypes (think britney, backstreet boys), this decade has seen the rise of some real figures in modern music. whilst not everyone may like kanye west, that's the point - dividing opinion makes for far more interesting popstars - think along th lines of someone like morrissey.

good to see, back in the day bands would literally churn out classics year after year (bowie, beatles) so there's nothing stopping this being a good album.

yeah but when someone like Ian Mackaye talks about not liking corporations I can take it more seriously than Tom "I released non-political music udner a mjaor with Audioslave but trust me I really hate corporations!" Morello.

i'm pretty neutral in regards to them, i kinda like their singles especially "beat again" but i have no desire to go and listen to their album or anything

yeah i like how delicate this album is, would be cool to see live just to see what it would be like - very chilled.

How about having their music in video games and films? I don't know if that's their decision however, so don't get angry if I'm wrong. It just seems to me they preach about hating capitalism then do everything that non-political bands do. They're as much a part of the "machine" as the next band really...

Care to explain? Climbing on the stage equipment is "sticking it to the man" in the same way Kanye West interrupting Taylor Swift is.

why did audioslave sign to a major then? they weren't political, but surely the RATM guys, believing so strongly in their politics, would have declined to work on a major?

How can you reconcile their communist beliefs with their existence on a major label, and doing other things like going to the MTV Awards? I think their music is fairly good (nothing amazing most of the time) but can anyone take their lyrics seriously through this blatant hypocrisy?

Sex Pistols and PiL fair enough, but he should just keep his opinions to himself, especially seeing as Radiohead aren't that different in spirit to PiL anyway...
