Review the Chart Show Host (BBC)
Interesting thread!! Here are my thoughts and views... Alan Freeman: Only listened to Alan's comentary on a few old POTP's but i liked the way he hosted the show. Tom Browne: Another presenter whose style of hosting i liked as well, again by just listening to some old chart shows. Simon Bates: I thought Simon was very professional in his delivery of the chart show. Tony Blackburn: I have always had a soft spot for Tony and i do enjoy his POTP's shows on a saturday afternoon on BBC Radio 2.He's as cheesey and corny as they come but he is one of my favourite chart show hosts. Tommy Vance: Tommy was at the helm when i first started listening to the chart shows and i always thought he was extremely informative and did enjoy listening to his shows despite the mistakes. Richard Skinner Another presenter i didn't mind listening to Bruno Brookes: Now i did like Bruno's style of delivery even the SHOUTING bit lol. When the chart announcement moved to a sunday i did enjoy his excitement as the new chart was 'still being compiled',even though like Dave had said in an earlier post,it had already been known since 1pm that day lol Mark Goodier: I liked his earlier stint at presenting the chart show Wes Butters: I'd stopped listening to the chart show by this time as i was losing interest in the charts. JK: Joel: Lol,luckily i never listened to these two. Fearne Cotton: Reggie Yates: Jeeeeez, where do i start with these two jokers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was the period i'd got seriously back into the charts and listening to these two was like listening to a children's programme.BOTH extremely childish, unprofessional and BOTH loved the sound of their own voice!!!! If one was off and the other was presenting alone,it was a tad bearable but not much lol. When Reggie hosted as the solo presenter,i'm not sure wether on one occasion it was Radio 1's big weekend or something but he was interviewing Jason Derulo and Jason actually said something like 'You are listening to Jason Derulo on 'The Reggie Yates Show''. Now that comment to me summed up what i'd always thought of Reggie,he thought he was the 'star' ,it was his show and the chart show was of lesser importance!! His constant mistakes, personal opinions (especially his hatred of 'Glee'),man crush on Michael Buble nearly every week etc...proved just to much for me to bear so i just stopped listening to the chart show when he was presenting. Jameela Jamil: When Jameela was anounced as the next chart show presenter, some of the comments i'd read didn't seem promising but i decided to tune in and give her a listen. I have to say,i do like Jameela's presenting.I have had a few lol moments with some of the comments she comes out and she does seem to know her stuff. It's not often i miss the chart show now.I still wish they would drop the competitions and inane banter but overall she is a MASSIVE improvement on Reggie.

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 23rd June 2013
I will find it interesting to know exactly how many copies of 'I Love It' by Remix Junkies and also by Remix Chix were downloaded (especially as i *think* both versions reached the Top 20 on iTunes before being deleted) and see how many sales the Icona Pop version have 'lost' with the release date not being brought forward sooner due to the popularity of the fake versions. Hopefully the sales from Remix Junkies and Remix Chix (plus the other fake versions and also the Glee version) will get a mention in the MW report when it gets released.

R1 average listener now 32
What i dislike about Radio 1 is there is far too much talking and not enough music being played and certain presenters that love hearing the sound of their own voice.Guilty of that is Chris Moyles,Fern Cotton and Reggie Yates.I stopped listening to the chart show with Reggie over a year ago as he's simply unprofessional and childish. There was a time when Reggie was chatting to Jason Derulo on the chart show and Jason actually called it the Reggie Yates show!!

Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit for Xmas #1?
I would be happy to support a campaign to get Wham!'s Last Christmas to Number 1.I've always loved this song and never tire of hearing this over the christmas period.Only other christmas song i'd support to finally get to Number 1 is Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas Is You, another song i adore :)

New owner, New publication date - a message to MW readers
With reading the messages regarding the subscriptions being removed from subscriptions.co.uk I have just rang intent media now to check my subscription details are still correct, which thankfully they are.As i pay quarterly by direct debit,i asked if that was still ok to continue and the reply was yes.

What was the worst No.1 ever?
Apart from the current number 1,'Swagger Jagger',i also hate 'Praise You', 'Amarillo','Walk this Way' (horrendous Sugababes/Girls Aloud monstrosity),500 Miles (another horrendous comic relief effort lol) I like the Proclaimers on their own singing this but hate the comic relief version with a passion!!.I may as well add the Islands In The Stream song as well to my hate list (Vanessa,Bryn,Tom Jones) I tend to hate most Comic Relief efforts lol

Discussion time: Why are you a chartfreak
Well,my obsession with the charts started in June 1983.I was thumbing through the Daily Mirror and spotted the top 30,and for some unknown reason,it was like a thunderbolt had hit me and i just became hooked on the charts.I started then listening to the charts on radio 1 and cutting the charts out of the paper until i discovered Record Mirror, and the rest as they say is history! lol. When Record Mirror ceased publication,i started subscribing to Music Week which i still do today :) I am 44 and still love and collecting the charts with a passion :) :)
