I just read Pitchfork's Sunday review of Spice Girls' Spice where they address that it was pretty crucial that the album was ready before they launched with Wannabe so that they could focus on making the group known immediately. I think that approach would've worked the best for Jade's debut solo era too: finish the album and launch with a bang with the existing LM fanbase. AOMD first with the album pre-order announcement and the album out after two months with the second focus track.
Timing-wise:
AOMD late 2024Album announcement in January 2025
The album out in March 2025

I've said it before but at least in the 'sales' era you would have artists performing on every TV show possible, doing magazines, interviews, CD signings etc desperately pushing their single into the top ten. Nowadays you can do everything in your power to promote your song but if it isn't on a Spotify playlist then it's doomed.
So unfair and so boring to witness as well.
This is the key word lol
Anyway, in streaming age everything is available all the time so songs and artists really need to stand out. The latest Sam Fender song is hardly on any playlists but top ten on streaming platforms. I still think it's a game of how large and dedicated fanbase an artist has. The difference between today and 20 years ago that the small fanbase takes an artist to top 100 instead of top 10/20. Lisa Scott-Lee went top 20 with only 11k people or so buying the record. 11k people streaming Plastic Box takes it absolutely nowhere.
If there are only 500k Jade fans GLOBALLY, it's very tough for her to get hits. But not having hits is not the end of it all. Marina is still recording and getting top ten albums despite not having bothered UK top 40 on singles chart in 7 years. I can see Jade going that route which would be absolutely fine in the long run. -

1 hour ago, Bjork said: Lol at people pretending they all Knew Pink Pony in 2020, 3 people knew it before last year lol at least its an anthem and a great song so dont mind how long it stays unlike the Ordinary anti-anthem
Wonder when people rediscovered Summer of 69, cos Nobody cared when it originally came out in the 80s, the UK were bizarrely slow in appreciating Bryan until 91
Reckless went triple platinum, but he wasn't a big single seller in the 80s.
