I understand your point but sales are just one factor of a song being a hit... If the sales climate is healthy, a song can achieve 3 million downloads without being a hit that everyone will remember.
There have been songs that were never released as commercial singles at the time but are still career-defining hits. (Nelly's Dilemma for example)
GYC will probably remain bigger airplay success than WMYB but which one will be better remembered? Too early to tell.

If not just them, I'm looking forward to the Beach House album.
Orbital's Wonky has been a pleasant surprise.
I think new indie acts are not very interesting at the moment.. maybe it's just me getting old.
Although I'm glad that Of Monsters and Men + Alabama Shakes have made a commercial breakthrough.

Tuned in to listen online... Half of the time they're talking about the dvd videos they're bravely using... So THIS is RADIO in 2012 then?
I get that Jason Mraz's video is full of clichés but so are the presenters :D
