Congrats Jade! While I like 'A Neverending Dream', it was quite hard to rank it as I still hear it every now and then on the radio, it was a big hit here, defnitely not a long-forgotten one. For me, 'Ignis' remains to be your far superior winner, but this was a well-deserved win too (and it was time). I was wondering why you didn't submit the song with the great video, then I found out that it's in potato quality on YouTube. Shame. For me, it's quite the opposite, I could've made a great top 10 out of the last 12 songs :lol: (I didn't, btw) Fantastic semi, 19 songs were point-worthy and I had 13 songs in the 'must point'-zone... I rarely hype Asian entries, but I'll throw some well-deserved hype towards Greenfroze and Lotunia, both entries are fab! xx

Well, I always start listening from the end :kink: BUT I haven't listened to the New Lexico entry yet, so it still has 100% potential to be a gem, too. I'm really happy with the last third (that's what I listened to so far), basically everything is point-worthy + Cor Lupus sounds like one that could win (again, this is based on around 10 out of 62 songs), just throwing it out there to mess with Cody's head, really :lol: (but it is a great entry and should do very well). Oh, I feel the same. Well, I'm a fan of 'IDGAF', it was one I already knew before. 'A Neverending Dream' was a huge fave too, of course + there are some others I'm familiar with (Bhangra, Aquafina and Tartford). Don't be fooled by the video of 'Direkt Bock' - although it is most likely the best video of the year that contains at least 39 10/10 moments, the song itself is fantastic, too (but might need a second listen, it is not as instant as 'Nachbarn' was).

The song is trash in a good way, but the references in the video... god. It really shouldn't have been that hard to find things that are related to 1999. (Nokia's 3310 came out in the end of 2000, Nirvana's Nevermind came out in '91 (!) Madonna's Bedtime Stories in '94, then TLC, Janet Jackson, Björk... all of them years before '99.
