Wow, you made me quite nervous

Wow, voting in Semi 2 will be brutal :o

I'm really happy that 'Hootsforce' made it + loads of my faves, the next stage will be great just based on these Qs alone! :cheer:

Yeah, I figured that Kent might be the lowest scoring DNQ (without deduction), really happy for 'Day & Age' though!

Uh, so 10 DNQs are out, 5 are in... that's not that bad.

Many-many great Qs so far! It will be interesting to see how the DNQs did here...

'Double Dutch' is one of my faves at the moment, it just 'felt right' to switch to Keys N Krates instead of my original entry. It's not THAT instant, so it might profit from skipping the semi stage and go straight to the final. But yeah, now sending Keys N Krates as an AQ quickly became a tradition, so I'll definitely dive into their discography when I win again in 2049.

Great theme, I'll look around! :cheer:

As I'm a sucker for behind the scenes info, here's one bit for You Lovelies: I did the random.org-ing yesterday in the morning, still including Cadelicia and Scherzland (if Oliver reconfirmed, then there would've been 32 songs in both semis with only one AQ, Land of DW). Scherzland was originally in Semi 1 (25) while Cadelicia was in Semi 2 (14) (Yes, random.org was nice to me, no cheating!). It will be interesting to see how Scherzland's votes in Semi 2 will change the results + who will be the lucky 20th in Semi 1 to take Scherzland's place (assuming that they would've Qd... something that we won't know for sure now :o ) edit: Thanks a lot for the Spotify duties Dan! :cheer:

Welcome to the Semis! Yes, you made it! :cheer: Get comfy and check out the fresh and crispy rules: 1) Vote only in your own semi, the AQs, Land of DW and Scherzland will vote in both 2) You must vote for your 10 fave entries using the Eurovision system (12/ 10/ 08/ 07/ 06/ 05/ 04/ 03/ 02/ 01/) 3) You (still) cannot vote for yourself 4) Non-voters will be subject to a 33% deduction 5) Late votes will be accepted at the discretion of the host (I will accept (not too) late votes - HOWEVER, votes submitted after 15th January (Friday) 23:59 GMT will be subject to a 15% deduction) Please send your votes to me via PM. until 15th January 23:59 GMT (or some hours later, if you like living dangerously). Now, the fun part begins! First, let's see your lovely AQs: AQ1: Land of DW _dKUpYlJdAk AQ2: Scherzland EcmQmKPADf8 And now... Only 2+ hours left to confirm! :cheer:

Voted for QF2 (why start at the beginning, right?), will 'work on' QF1 this weekend.

It's veto time! Dream Beats & Christie - Wasn't My Fault 15/22 - The Dream Beats have been entered twice (XXXIV, XLVIII), finishing 3rd in the latter. 12+3 - Featured on Popjustice, Scandipop, SPIN and a few other minor pop blogs. For its time, I would say this was moderate coverage, where that stands now, is up for debate. 7? - Has been vetoed twice before in LXXXVIII and then again in XCVI. - Features in 2 personal charts, none of which are BJSC participants. Chairlift - Amanaemonesia 22 - entered three times in the past (XII, XLVIII and LXXXII), finishing 13th, 28th and 11th respectively. 3+7 - Taken from their 2012 album, Something, the same album as I Belong In Your Arms. - featured on The Guardian, IndieWifre, HappyMag, StereoGum, MTV, Line Of Best Fit, Indie Shuffle, Rookie Mag. Album reviewed on Pitchfork, BBC Music, AV Club, Consequence of Sound, Drowned In Sound, along with many of the publications named for the song. Would file under 'substantial media coverage' 12 - thread for the album received 12 replies in the Indie forum. - appeared in 1 personal chart, a BJSC participant (Doctor Blind) - band member Caroline Polachek has since gained further notoriety and was vetoed this contest with 'So Hot You're Hurting My Feelings'.

WATCHLIST: Entered both 129 and 130: Greenfroze Republic of Adonia Sandénia Trifoski Entered 129: Buzzjack Mountain Palmyra Pupok Ramrynia Taahino Unovia + it's time for some other countries to return too, you had your break, it's enough now!

Another VETO! :o

Reconfirmed  Choosing an AQ is harrrd... switched to a current fave in the end. I have no idea how this will do, but I can't have a lot less than 45 points in the final, can I. (It is definitely a more inspired entry, yay me.)

3 more vetoes Ladies and Gents! :o Daði Freyr and ÁSDÍS - Feel The Love 12 - Daði Freyr had a UK #34 hit last year with 'Think About Things' (the prospective Icelandic 2020 Eurovision entry) - song briefly charted on Icelandic Spotify on its release this month (peaked at #78) - appeared in 1 personal chart (not a BJSC participant) - has a thread with 3 replies in the Eurovision forum - covered by Scandipop, NME and probably just about every Eurovision-related blog; greater than usual coverage for a Eurovision adjacent artist so would consider this to be 'substantial coverage' (especially as this is a fresh single from an artist who quite likely would have won Eurovision 2020 had it gone ahead and is already confirmed to be returning for Eurovision 2021) 12 Caroline Polachek - So Hot You're Hurting My Feelings (A. G. Cook Remix) 29.75 - Caroline Polachek DNQed (as featured artist) in BJSC 13 and DNQed in BJSC 117 3 - A. G. Cook came 16th (as remixer) in BJSC 59 and 1st in BJSC 66 0.75+4 - remix appeared in 1 personal chart (sender's own); original song in 2019/20 appeared in 16 personal charts, 9 of which are current BJSC participants (AH Gold, Bré, danG, dhwe, Doctor Blind, Jafet, Jupiter, Klumzee, SevenSeize), reaching a peak of #17 on the Multichart and charting for 9 weeks 10 - remix covered on Pitchfork, NME, The Line of Best Fit, Clash Music etc. in addition to substantial coverage for the original version in 2019 12 - original song also nearly achieved auto-qualifier status in the most recent Record of the Decade in the chart forum (#36 for 2019) - Caroline Polachek has also achieved previous success both in BJSC and commercially as a member of Chairlift Jayda G - Both Of Us 17 - appeared in 4 personal charts, 2 of which are current BJSC participants (danG, Doctor Blind) - was C-Listed by Radio 1 in August 2020, also A-Listed on 6Music 5 - song has a thread with 6 replies in the Dance forum - song is currently nominated for a Grammy for Best Dance Recording, also got fairly substantial blog coverage last year (Pitchfork, NME etc.) 12

We have another veto! :o King Princess - Only Time Makes It Human 19 - appears on Rolling Stone, The Line Of Best Fit, NME, DIYMag, Consequence Of Sound, Stereogum, ABC, Gay Times (EOY article), Yahoo, Billboard (EOY article), would class as substantial exposure. 12 - In the last 24 months the song has charted in the Top 40 of New Zealand, at #33 7 - appeared in 1 personal chart, none who participate in BJSC. Btw Ladies, you have only a bit more than 2 days to submit your entries and some ESSENTIAL countries are still missing! Yes, I mean YOU! (And some new ones. I want new countries too.) Keep 'em coming! :cheer:
