I feel a lot better about a bottom 5 finish in the final than a DNQ - I guess it's really up to the (current-ish) success rate of a country, if someone constantly finishes in the top 20, then a DNQ once or twice per year is less painful than bombing in the final. Most of the less successful countries (ones with many DNQs under their belt) would rather take the bottom 5 in the final, I guess. Not to mention that DNQs in the 'other' semi tend to get forgotten, at least everyone will listen to your song for sure if you make the final and there's a chance that it'll have some more fans (although nowadays I do make an effort to listen to the other semi's DNQs as well, it's definitely worth it).

I'm still not sure which potential to send (I think I'll let my heart win even if it's a flop), but I'm definitely hyped for a Summericia contest!

Last time was fairly interesting because I got a country that I didn't know too much about, but I managed to find 4-5 solid potentials in the end. This time I got a country that I know fairly well, their back catalogue is AMAZING, interesting and diverse, I'm pretty sure that I'll find like 30 potentials :dance: I already feel like a winner (although I'll bomb for sure), can't wait to start digging! (Btw. I KNOW that searching for some artists and youtubing songs without this contest is not strictly forbidden, but normally I'm lazy to do this, so I'm happy that I'm a bit "forced" this time).

I'm really happy that I managed to Q with 'Ederlezi' (my 2nd Hungarian Q after Paddy And The Rats - one of my goals for 2018 achieved B-) ) Most of my faves are through too, I lost only Buzzjack Mountain from my votes + most likely I would've pointed Niceland from the other semi (although I still haven't heard the second part of semi 2, I'll keep listening this weekend).

Yeah, the graphics are fantastic! Hyped for the semi results, hope most of my faves are through (and I wouldn't mind if I'm through too, of course).

Great hosting Jade, loved the recap video, always helps remembering the less memorable entries. Congrats Leww, not entirely my thing (I'd love a 4-minute version without the slow parts), but definitely stood out from the bunch! It's good to see that Ari Ari lived up to its hype, I'll revisit it for sure and I'll check out the band too. I'd take 4th any day (well, 5th, but a deduction is a deduction), I thought 'For You, And Your Denial' will be about 15th at best. It is one I listened to quite a lot back then (it is from 2011), I'm happy that many of you enjoyed it.
