  1. Well notice how there has been no further media coverage about partygate since the Ukraine crisis. It will be interesting to see what happens if Johnson is fined as expected. I think the public are still angry and the cost of living crisis is set to spiral with further rises in petrol and energy so his problems haven’t gone away.
  2. This is a very nasty situation and will inevitably escalate if Putin doesn’t get what he wants. I am not sure what the short term answer is but at least both sides are talking.
  3. West coast is really good. I loved human album so looking forward to a follow up!

According to Amazon, the physical release has been delayed until 22nd April now. I don’t understand the logic of this at all. I was planning to buy the CD tomorrow.
  5. I think quite a few organisations will still be asking people to self-isolate if they test positive. I am a tutor for a major training company and they are sticking by the policy and I’m sure the NHS will. It doesn’t make any sense and neither does abolishing free testing.
  6. The situation is extremely concerning but unfortunately Putin is a major threat to any peace, stability or democracy in this world. He lives by his own rules of violence and intimidation. I read in the Guardian today that Trump has referred to him as a ‘genius’ for moving troops into eastern Ukraine.
  7. 10 Aphrodite 10 Closer 8 Cupid boy 8 Everything Is Beautiful 7 Mighty rivers 7 Too much 7 Go hard or ho home 6 Can’t beat the feeling 6 Heartstrings 6 Looking for an angel 6 Illusion
  8. Those track lists for the reissued CDs are slightly disappointing. No remixes and mainly just the B sides but better than nothing I guess.
  9. I saw a post on Facebook yesterday reporting that the first four albums are being reissued on CD and cassette by the same company who did the vinyl. No tracklist yet or release date.
  10. Energy costs may increase further if there is a war in Ukraine.
  11. So the bishop of Liverpool is the latest person to step forward to publicly criticise Johnson and his government, in relation to his slur on Sir Keir Starmer. I hope more people continue to come forward and it’s good that not just political opponents are doing this.
  12. That and the legal requirement to self-isolate being removed is really bad. Infection levels are still relatively high and all the Tories appear bothered about is the cost rather than health and welfare of the nation.
  13. I hope they don’t do swing. I really liked wonderland!
  14. Just out of interest, why did Australia get exclusive b sides and is this the first time this has happened? I have a feeling it’s not. Isn’t glad to be alive OZ only?
  15. Brexit is far from done. It’s a complete mess. There are still loads of on going issues and red tape which are causing major headaches for business. In addition, if Johnson tries to go back on the Northern Ireland agreement then we could be left facing sanctions from the EU.

This for me was the most exciting new thing announced yesterday!
  17. John Mayor is the latest to criticise the Johnson government. Good for him and this proves it’s far from over!
  18. Well it’s her best song since chained to the rhythm so still hoping it can reach the T40.
  19. I can understand the move back to offices but dropping the legal requirement to self-isolate is crazy. Cases are still relatively high and this is a very infectious disease which is highly transmittable. What about people who are vulnerable? It’s way to early and again not following the science.
  20. There are a lot of parallels between Johnson’s government and Trump which are quite concerning. The smear on Starmer was grossly inaccurate and unfair and has resulted in violence, just like Trumps behaviour before he left office. The way MPs behave does have a direct impact on the general public and if you have people who are not good role models in power then that tends to rub off on the general public.
  21. There is speculation that more MPs are planning to submit letters but some are waiting for the police investigation to end. Either way - it’s incredibly damaging and undermining for him to have several of his own MPs declare they no longer have any confidence in him. I can’t see the situation improving and the Tories will be affected badly at the local elections which will impact too.
  22. Well the number of letters for a vote of no confidence is increasing and hopefully they will reach the number required at some point. He deffo isn’t out of the water yet and I suspect it’s just a matter of time before more MPs go against him.

JLS are far better singers than One Direction and with the right type of tracks, they could be really good. 1D were very manufactured and bland as hell.
  24. I agree with you that a lot more could be done to address the energy crisis. It is infuriating that both Shell and BP have now announced record profits and rewards to their shareholders when some families will have to make a dire choice between heating or food. However, as pointed out the wholesale price of gas has climbed significantly on an international scale. Unfortunately, the U.K. relies heavily on gas rather than other alternatives, so we are likely to be more effected than some countries. The measures given by the Tories to help consumers are completely inadequate and market reform is necessary alongside a windfall tax on energy company profits.
  25. The current cost of living crisis isn’t solely related to Brexit or the Tory government though. The energy crisis is affecting many other countries due to the steep rise in the cost of wholesale gas. My parents live in Cyprus and their energy bills have also rocketed. It’s true that some food prices have risen due to Brexit but we have also experienced a pandemic which has impacted on the supply and demand of certain goods causing inflationary pressures. However, I certainly think the government should be doing a lot more to address the issues including stopping energy companies from raking in massive profits at a time when consumers face difficult choices and the NI rise is totally unnecessary and will add to the problems many people are facing.
