  1. I don’t think no9 is too bad but it’s likely to drop quickly unless there is promotion. Whether it will eventually outsell golden will depend on further promotion.
  2. Agree, fully. I don’t think it’s anything special at all.
  3. I’d be surprised if it wasn’t T10 in the initial midweeks given current low sales climate but I can see why it’s not higher. The 5 disc set is quite expensive and relatively little new content.
  4. Just read on say hey that reissue is struggling and may sneak in at no10 on albums in first midweeks.
  5. Not many physical copies had been sold in HMV. It’s a shame but not totally unexpected tbh.
  6. Where do people think this will re-enter next week? I’m predicting around 6/7.
  7. https://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/a...he-moon__34427/ Confirmed sales 204k
  8. The CD single didn’t really include anything new. A remix or bonus track would have been nice!
  9. I liked a second to midnight. Kiss of life has grown on me but none of the new tracks are as strong as most of the tracks on the original album.
  10. I don’t like the new artwork neither for the album. The first version was better!
  11. I’ve just heard this. It’s ok but probably the weakest out of the three new songs.
  12. Without any proper promotion, the impact will be marginal sadly.
  13. Delighted to see Abba heading for over 200k this week. A magnificent achievement for their first new album in 40 years. I think people are really over estimating Adele’s first week sales but we’ll see. She will sell more than Sheeran but don’t think she’ll do as well as Abba (well I hope not)! The market has considerably changed since her last album release and while I’m sure it will do well, I doubt it will come anywhere close to the dizzy heights of her last album sales or the previous album. Look at how much Ed Sheeran’s album sales have dropped off this week and don’t think anybody expected that and he’s had two successful singles out before his album.
  14. In what way do you think the disco era feels bigger? I’d say the other way round to be honest at the moment. I mean, dancing was actually a T40 hit but nothing has really impacted from Disco though. It’s all been a bit muted due to impact of covid.
  15. Abba should easily clear 200k. Question is will it remain the biggest first week sale of the year? Well Adele is the only likely challenger so we’ll see but I’d put my money on Abba.
  16. Sales are very low right now so I’d be surprised if it doesn’t renter in the T10.
  17. Number 1 next week will either be Ed Sheeran or Abba but Sheeran’s sales have dropped far quicker than I expected this week. Highest new entry will be Taylor Swift. Kylie & Little Mix will be T10.
  18. I doubt it to be honest.
  19. We don’t even know what ABBA’s first week sales will be yet and already people are calling it a flop. Crazy! It’s still got one of the biggest ever preorders!
  20. I think a lot of people thought she would do much more than 200k with her new single in the first week. I’d be very surprised if she shifts 300k of her album though. The market has shrunk considerably since 25 and I’ve heard there has been lots of issues with her vinyl production. Abba had the record for largest pre-orders too. Will be interesting to see what happens anyway!
  21. I’ve bought the Abba album and it’s good.
  22. There’s no way Adele will shift 500k in the first week. Her sales will be no way near that amount. The market has shrunk considerably since her last album. She might shift 200k in the first week but possibly not even that much. I think the singles performance is an indication of how the album might do. Apart from the first week, the single has dropped in sales sharply in comparison to bad habits, which sold consistency well over a much longer period.
  23. Is this a download only release or will there be a physical cd? Quite like the new song but two new tracks is pretty stingy.
  24. A lot of people were predicting Ed Sheeran to sell huge numbers in his first week and although he has still done well, he hasn’t sold anywhere near as many copies as many predicted. People also predicted Adele would be number one for ages and yet this week she is barely clinging to the top spot of the singles chart. Adele neither will sell anything like she has with her previous albums but will still do okay. In fact, I have a feeling she could sell less than Ed overall.
  25. I agree with you that Abba is very likely to have the biggest first week sale of the year. It may not sell as well overalll as Ed or Adele but Abba have a broad appeal and I wouldn’t under-estimate them in terms of their longer term potential with this new album.
