Someone on say hey who is apparently in the know has said the album reissue is finished and has already gone to production. Hopefully we will hear something fairly soon !

I hate the Tories with a passion but despite all the pain caused by years of austerity, greenfell and the abysmal way they have handled the pandemic, I still can’t see Labour being elected. Johnson and his colleagues only got in with such a big majority due to Brexit and come the next election they will certainly lose seats. However, the problem is we don’t have a credible alternative right now. Firstly, Keir Starmer is a nice guy but he is the wrong man for the job. He is weak and ineffective. Secondly, Labour lacks a clear vision of what they actually stand for. Thirdly, the party is so divided and need to come together and unite. Fourthly, the voting system and changes in electoral boundaries has been designed in such a way to benefit the Tories. It is clear from the polls that Labour have made little progress so far. We badly need a change of government in this country but unless Labour can elect a stronger leader, come up with some clear and credible policies and start to reconnect with the general public then sadly we are stuck with this abysmal right wing government.

He is by far the best artist to have come out of reality music. His new album is brilliant too. However, his biggest hit is also one of his worst in my opinion.

I don’t think people should be forced to take the jab but we are living in a difficult situation with a highly contagious virus. People should deffo be encouraged to have the jab and if they don’t want it then it’s their choice but at the same time, they should be prepared to accept that they might not be able to go abroad or attend large events. That unfortunately is the consequence of their decision making to not have a jab which is likely to protect them and others from being seriously ill and putting a strain on our health care system.

What are people’s thoughts about vaccine passports to enable access to nightclubs etc? I think it’s a good idea. Hopefully it will encourage particularly younger people to get the vaccine. The younger population has less risk of serious illness but nonetheless they can still pass it on to someone vulnerable. I personally wouldn’t want to go to a nightclub or busy pub right now anyway but for those who do then I think people should do their bit by getting vaccinated.

The guardian has an interesting article about the vaccine rollout. 6 EU countries have now overtaken the U.K. in terms of numbers vaccinated and there has been a massive decline here in new people being jabbed.

I managed to get a test today in Liverpool but had an interesting conversation with staff there. Last week, I went to two different sites where I’ve previously been tested but they were closed. Staff told me today that all the other major testing sites in Liverpool have been closed as they are reducing testing. staff also acknowledged that the current site is difficult to locate in terms of its location and not advertised well on the internet so many people wouldn’t know it exists and they are getting people coming for testing from a wide geographical area within Merseyside due to many other sites closing. I don’t know what’s happening in other areas but clearly if testing is being reduced nationwide then the figures paint a very misleading picture about the true level of infections.

I agree about breathe. Quite a few singles from the Decon era are underrated.

I’ve been into Liverpool city centre today to try and get a covid test. Two places where I usually get a test have been closed. I don’t know what’s going on in other places but it appears there is less testing and therefore reported case numbers will be lower. I think the government may be trying to manipulate the figures which paints a misleading picture!

Not as strong as some of their other stuff. It’s ok though and nice to hear new music from them!

That’s incorrect, as stated above - lots of school staff and pupils are not being tested due to schools being closed and schools were where there was a hybrid of infections.

Cases are down yes but there may be a number of reasons for that. It’s summer holidays and less testing is one. The euros was obviously a big factor too but also the hot weather has meant people are spending more time outdoors where the risks are lower. I suspect case numbers will increase again soon due to the impact of easing restrictions but today’s deaths are 131 and hospital admissions are just under 6000 so they both have gone up a lot!

I thought we might have had an announcement by now but given Kylie is in Oz and possibly under lockdown then I wonder if that might delay things?!?

There wasn’t any screens ever at my gym but you could only use every other machine but now all machines are available, hence why I cancelled my membership while case infections are high.

I’ve read some research from the states which suggests working out in the gym is a medium risk activity and it recommended social distancing and masks to reduce risk. I just don’t like the idea of being in a confined space say on the treadmill and someone potentially stood right next to me who could be asymptomatic. Most of the people who go my gym are quite young so unlikely to be fully vaccinated. I’ll exercise outside for now!

Like the clips I’ve heard from the album but disappointed that ‘space’ isn’t included. It’s my favourite track of hers!

I really liked infinite things. Probably my favourite album so far. I’m sad it didn’t perform well commercially but I suspect some of that is related to her age now and lack of support via radio. I would have supported a reissue but looks like she is moving on.
