iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 18th August 2013
How I detest the phrase "...deserves to be #1". I believe everyone who worked really hard DESERVES something, don't they!

Songs that were cover versions (but you never knew)
I have just found out that "Touch Me (All Night Long)" by Cathy Dennis from 1991 was a cover version. I've recently watched "A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge" from 1985 and heard the above song performed by Fonda Rae. (#49 single in 1984) Fonda Rae - Touch Me

The Story of NOW
Another programme with poor researching. The guy from Westlife said "we didn't go to #1 with our album because of Now compilation" Oh really? 1988 brought a separate compilation chart. I didn't know Westlife existed then??!! Liar! There were comments about Madonna not wanting a song on any of Now LPs. Maybe she was on a different label that didn't allow this to happen. And more lies on Madonna: True Blue did go to #1, however when I watched the programme, everyone seemed to behave as if 'NOW' kept it from the top spot?! Poor!

Songs you hate by bands you love...
Madonna and all Evita songs. Can't stand them. Anything from U2 from 2002 up until now. Michael Jackson - anything since 1997+ awful awful

Roxette
I went to see them twice last year and the year before on their World Tour. They were fab! Amazing atmosphere. My favourite song is "Dangerous". A proper pop tune!

Classic Songs that never went Top 10
I think the biggest of the biggest has to be Bryan Adams - Summer Of '69. #42 in 1985. "Run To You" got to #11 the same year.

Songs released at the 'wrong' time.
I totally disagree with you. I think that song in 1977 sounded of its time when it was released. It was quite innovative of Jean Michel Jarre. I can't see it released in the 2000s. And #4 is not bad as most people who are interested in music know that song anyway.

I'd rather see her crowned as "fastest plummeting album of the year". Did it actually sell 100k?

Predict: will.i.am. & Britney Spears - "Scream & Shout"
Awful song. Such a no song. Britney looks like plastic Madonna who is over 20 years older.

End of Chart Stats
That's terrible news. I've used chartstats for around 4 years! Looks like OCC cannot offer anything decent at the moment...

Top 10 Biggest Selling Female Singles Artists
Single sales means nothing compared to album sales. Singles are to promote the album... And besides Madonna was selling at the price of £1.99 + 12inch singles £3.99. Rihanna is now selling at the price of £0.59...

Really like the new Rolling Stones song :music: I wish rock music was present in the charts more often!
