I am a “40 odd year old mum” and would buy from HMV!! Probably a vinyl though as I don’t have anywhere to play a CD these days 😆

Yeah I agree, he would get number 1 most weeks so it is a bit odd to move it. Maybe all the Harry Styles hype has worried him?! Or maybe it is just a case of let’s get the album out? It’s very good imo so I hope it does well

My physicals bundle is being shipped today- just had an email… so maybe he is doing both after all?

Out of interest, What is the value in releasing streaming separately to the physicals? Surely you do all at once for maximum impact?? Or have I missed something?

So it has just been announced that Robbie has decided to release the new album today (it was previously meant to be Feb, having previously been Oct last year!?!) Do we think he can claim his 16th UK No1 album and get that record he so wants? I massively hope so, the album is really good (but I’m biased as a massive Robbie fan). I hope he is on the promo trail- I know he’s done R2 but will need some TV etc too maybe?

New Bruno is excellent, very catchy, I feel it will gain in popularity over the next few weeks,… a future number 1?

Sorry for my ignorance but wondering why is Lush Life back in the charts? I assume it a TikTok or other viral thing but is there a particular reason for the resurgence? Thanks in advance

Really pleased about Robbie. Film is amazing and the soundtrack is also very good. Kind of a reimagining of his songs and he does sing on pretty much all of them, it’s very good. All for him getting another No1. If Bruno and Rose get No1 single as well that would be the icing on the cake!

Seems a misstep to not issue a vinyl? Record company seem to have got this wrong? And surely better to release all at once and while the film is being promoted etc. hopefully will chart well if it gets a push with the physicals and prizes and so on

Am I missing something re Robbie Williams Better Man album? Not in top 40, I was assuming would be another No1 for him? Is it not allowed as it’s a soundtrack? (Film is excellent btw imo)

I am really happy for Chase and Status and Stormzy. Such a great song, and was incredible seeing it live at the MK Bowl on Saturday. Really hope it clings on for number 1, much deserved I would say, and another UK hit to top the charts which is good to see 😀

I think there would be a huge appetite for an old school Xmas day TOTP… the reason rating went down (in my opinion) is because they kept moving it earlier and earlier in the schedule. If it was on later in the afternoon people would watch and enjoy it. There is so much great music and I am sure many artists would love the prime time exposure. I just think the BBC gets it wrong…. The review show last year was terrible, and very boring. And basically was obsessed with Glastonbury. I’m all here for a proper TOTP - sadly I doubt that will ever happen again

Radio 1 is extremely sexist and ageist. They seem to deem Elton John and other older men as ok to play, yet Kylie won’t get a look in despite it being a huge hit. as a public sector broadcaster this shouldn’t be tolerated. Women over 40 are not irrelevant!! I’m so pleased for both Kylie and madonna, proving radio 1 wrong!

Am I missing something… why is Jimin no where on streaming yet has the whole top 5 on iTunes? I assumed his fan base would be more of the streaming type??

Love my Life is a great tune and should have been a top 10- they changed streaming ratios not long after so it could have been a top 10 if that had come into play earlier… but still a great tune and it did feel like a massive hit to me. He was on TV a lot around then (NYE etc) which gave it exposure. Lovelight, Come undone, Feel, Rudebox, Tripping, No Regrets… I could go one- all such great tunes. What an artist I live in hope he can still get at least one more Top 40 at some stage!

I really hope Elton and Dua can get number 1 next week/ week after. Agree it’s only a hit due to Dua and ageism would have stopped Elton alone getting a huge hit in the current chart world, but I’m so glad it has happened! Proof that “heritage” acts can still shift singles. I would have loved Madonna/Dua Levitating to have been as big as this as it deserved to which is a shame 😟 but this is something at least!!!

That’s a shame Dont Shut Me Down not in top 20 now? Not an abba fan personally but it’s a good song- thought it might have some longevity?

Coldplay doing well (ish) on streaming so do we think it could make official top 10? Would be good to see them back in the charts. Better than a lot of their recent stuff...?

Head and heart British album- future nostalgia Yes they all have to have released an album in the calendar year Would be great if Kylie gets a nomination - maybe they’ll give her the legends award? I just heard on radio news 1 that TOTP won’t be on over Xmas ☹️ Apparently due to covid they couldn’t record it Maybe this is wrong? Hope so! They could show videos instead and do a review of the year ? (I’d love that personally!)
