  1. How very random. :D Did you not read the tracklist before you made your way to the counter to pay for the cd?
  2. I'm sure others have sent .m4a files which are usually iTunes format. Don't know if that means they've bought the track on iTunes or uploaded the mp3 to iTunes, and it's been converted.
  3. Did you not buy the song on iTunes? That's not a good sign if you refuse to buy your own entry. :D
  4. Yep, got a message from SoundCloud saying the upload contains copyrighted material. :( Knew it'd happen, might try a private link on YouTube and hope for the best.
  5. Second attempt to uploading 'Sundream' to SoundCloud and I've lost count the number of times I've clicked "Save" and it's just not doing anything. :( I have a feeling it's been blocked which I suspected would be the case. I am literally cry (ok, not quite but still)
  6. Even more so if Lady GaGa still hasn't shown up this time tomorrow. I would've waited personally.
  7. Haven't done my full predictions yet but I'm sure that Klumzee, GD and *shock* Pavel will get through (I think 'Roo' will get the LOL votes)
  8. Here's the link to stream the song. http://www.hillydilly.com/2013/08/rufus-atlas/ I'll still upload it tho.
  9. Ohhh, Batidas getting some attention? *,* I'll upload my mp3 to SoundCloud and just hope it doesn't get blocked - that's mainly why I've not uploaded it to either SoundCloud or YouTube.
  10. Yes, it's available in the mp3 packs as Dandy found me a link where I could stream the entire song and ripped it HQ from there. Still amazed Thom did that for me without me even asking. Sadly I agree. I'm surprised it's top 10 on iTunes and I love dance music. It just sounds really empty. :(
  11. Cheers John :D Indeed, they were without doubt my personal fave two entries from BJSC by some distance. It was really difficult to separate them when it came down to voting in the final. I guess 'So High' had the slight advantage of being in my semi. When Ghosty kept my votes until last and I saw the scoreboard beforehand, I knew who had won and it did provide a big smile on my face. What surprised me the most is that Ghost Loft won BJSC by appealing massively to a small amount of voters. Then again, that's how I got my 2 BJSC wins. Neither Agnes Obel or Zara Larsson landslided to victory, and again only appealed massively to a smaller group of voters.
  12. Well if the release of 'Applause' can finally get 'Bad Romance' across the million sales mark that'd be grand. :D
  13. As soon as 'Applause' shows up, the subtitle will duly be updated to reflect this. :D
  14. Go on, admit it. You were lovin' it. :D
  15. ...apart from your other contender which I think would've done well had you gone with it.
  16. Or if Katy Perry's team decide to bring the release of 'ROAR' forward to this coming Sunday. Ellie Vs GaGa, followed by Katy Vs Sonnentanz, and even then Ellie and GaGa could hold up next week too. It could end up like last year when 'Skyfall', 'Diamonds' and 'Live While We're Young' all got released in the same week. "Aber was ist mit der Sonnetanzen?"
  17. Capital FM latched onto this real quick. I saw Capital TV's 7 @ 7pm programme, and they had Lady GaGa 'Applause' as their #1. The video they're showing is just all clips of her other videos in a montage but even so I didn't think I'd see it on Capital TV this quickly.
  18. I was hoping it might've been the return of the pastry forum. *.* This is good enough though D* :D
  19. Cheers JSG :D 14 (--) Bonnie McKee - American Girl (14) [1 wk] Great Little track. Sounds a wee bit like Teenage Dream though. It is quite bubble gum(ish) but it adds to the songs' charm for me. It does indeed sound like the type of song Katy Perry would release. 23 (10) Luciana - U B The Bass (20-11-10-23) [4 wks] :sub: I charted this a few weeks ago :) Brilliant track. I don't think anything she's done tops Yeah Yeah though. 'Yeah Yeah' is also Luciana's biggest hit in my chart too but I do like 'U B The Bass' although I've slightly gone off the song so it's decline in airplay is reflected in the steepish drop here. 35 (37) Zara Larsson - Uncover (02-01-01-02-02-04-07-07-11-11-14-17-19-26-27-30-29-37-35) [19 wks] Oh wow, another Zara lover. :D I'd love to see 'Uncover' get some type of push in the UK but it'll either never happen, or will get a UK release next Spring and it'll be a remixed version. :(
  20. Cheers Rich :D 01 (--) Ghost Loft - So High (01) [1 wk] I didn't 'get' this for some reason, even on repeated listens nothing grabs me! Aww, I just adore this song and it's kinda unexplainable. Maybe it just got me in the right mood for some pure reflective music. Proof though if ever needed that I don't always award my 12 points to dance/pop music. See your own entry 'Fireflies' from last year, it even made #1 in my chart and didn't even achieve thatb in your own chart. :D 09 (--) Disclosure - F For You (09) [1 wk] Love this, a perfect summer anthem and indeed Settle is one of my soundtracks of the summer, brilliant album It really is such a good track. The production on the track and that synth bass melody really makes the song and even though the lyrics are pretty much repeated throughout it helps emphasize more on the music itself. Needless to say I'm enjoying 'F For You' more than I did 'You And Me' (which is still a great track) but 'White Noise' is still their biggest hit for me. 10 (RE) Lana Del Rey - Summertime Sadness (01-02-02-04-08-12-16-28-30-(x38)-10) [10 wks] Forgot this had been a #1 for you, do you like the remix just as much? Yes, I really like the remix. I wasn't sure how to chart this purely because it had been #1 for me as the album version last year so I've decided to keep it the same but it's pretty much the dance remix coupled with the original version charting again. :D 15 (17) OneRepublic - Counting Stars (17-15) [2 wks] I assumed this would just be a hit everywhere BUT the UK, but almost top 40 here, could they return to relevance? They deserve to as Ryan Tedder is a great songwriter Who'd have thought, eh? I guess like Maroon 5 proved with 'Moves Like Jagger', if an act that's considered "irrelevant" return with a really popular hit it will do wonders for their careers. It'll be interesting to see how well this does in the UK but I think it's another great track from OneRepublic. I agree with everyone who has posted about 'Secrets', that really deserved to be a massive hit. 25 (23) Kings Of Leon - Supersoaker (16-23-25) [3 wks] Not keen on this at all but Wait For Me is brilliant  Yep!!! :D I'm pretty sure that the new Kings Of Leon and also Arctic Monkeys singles will peak higher than the songs already charting here. In fact, both acts may have two tracks in my top 40 next week. :o Haven't actually thought about my next chart but it's definitely looking likely to happen. 36 (--) Calvin Harris feat. Ayah Marar - Thinking About You (36) [1 wk] 37 (--) Rudimental feat. Foxes - Right Here (37) [1 wk] Low for these two dance hits, they're not exactly the best work by either artist though Whilst it's an incredible achievement for Calvin Harris to get 9 UK top 10 singles from one album, I wasn't overly fussed with 'Bounce' or 'Feel So Close' and this track is just about ok but nothing outstanding. Same with 'Right Here' even with the Foxes association, I can't force myself to like a song more if it's just not clicking with me.
  21. Hey Haus :D 01 | Lady Gaga - Aura/Burqa (Demo) [1] Wow, in at #1 with a bang just like Kath's chart. :o Must check this out and see what it's like. GaGa was such a pop dominance in 2009, the 'BTW' era really was dissapointing looking back. (xx) | 02 | Klangkarussell feat. Will Heard - Sonnentanz (Sun Don't Shine) [2] The original version got to a dizzying #36 for me a few months back. This new version may well see the track return to my chart and hit a new peak. (xx) | 03 | Le Youth - C O O L [3] All hail Jark who introduced us to this track in BJSC last year. Another track that could return to my chart and continue where it left off 9 months ago. (xx) | 07 | Katy Perry - Roar [7] Only seen the teasers on YouTube but this is clearly going to smash whenever it gets released. Supposedly it's now the 8th September which might be a good move in the end. (24) | 14 | Lana Del Rey - Summertime Sadness (Cedric Gervais Remix) [26-19-4-8-15-21-26-xx-39-33-27-24-14] bronze.jpg Makes its return to my chart this week. 'Summertime Sadness' is one of my absolute fave tracks from the album and this made #1 for me last year. Never would've expected the song to be top 5 in the UK 9 months later thanks to a remix. Get that smash Lana *.* (16) | 15 | P!nk - True Love (feat. Lily Allen) [20-18-16-15] I'm a bit over this now but there's no denying the singles choices this era have been perfect. (22) | 16 | Jaymes Young - Dark Star (Kiely Rich Remix) [Hitstastic Black Dwarf Radio Edit] [22-16] I've made it!!! *.* \o/ Seems weird to see my username as part of the song title. The Kiely Rich remix really does inject some life into the song. I listened to the original and it's so lackluster in comparison. Bre2Slay :D (30) | 40 | Ghost Loft - So High [34-30-30-40] My new #1 this week so it's clear to see just how much more I adore the song. Really glad that you enjoyed 'Walking On Air' from last month. Hoping people will make a genuine discovery in 'Sundream'. I listened to the preview on YouTube and thought it sounded so good from the little bit that was played. Tracked it down on SoundCloud and after hearing the 2 minute preview I knew then that this was the song I wanted to send to BJSC.
  22. I always give each song at least one listen through. It seems a bit pointless to just listen to 30, or even 90 seconds of a song just to see if it goes anywhere. Some songs tend to build progressively, especially if it's 5 minutes. How can you judge a dance track on the first 90 seconds if that's pretty much the beat gradually building up to an explosive "whoa" moment at 1:58 - you've stopped the song before it got going. Last contest I decided to play the semi final tracks on shuffle without paying too much attention to the song title or who sent the track. As I mentioned to Seize, on the first run through the semi final tracks I listened to three generic pop songs that weren't exactly exciting me. Then Ghost Loft came on and instantly I was thinking "now this is something quite spectacular". It's always interesting to see how each track can either divide or bring people together.

  25. Cheers Martin :D 01 (--) Ghost Loft - So High (01) [1 wk] 02 (--) Thomas Azier - Ghostcity (02) [1 wk] The two Ghost tracks top 2 :o got no chance of qualifying this time round I think, I sort of recycled one of my previous BJSC artist  I was literally stuck for options this month, hopefully I find something decent for next month, N&F was rejected in the end :snif: and I got bored with Fol Chen in the end, probably because I overplayed it -_- "note to self in future do not overplay BJSC entries, prior to competition" Indeed so, 'So High' and 'Ghostcity' were absolutely outstanding songs from the last BJSC. To both enter at #1 and #2 respectively shows just how much I adored both tracks whilst poor Avicii slips to #3 and I still really like 'Wake Me Up'. The whole Ghost thing was a pure co-incidence but the fact Ghosty was hosting made it all the more surreal that Ghost Loft won when nobody predicted it to happen. So glad Seize got his debut win with such a blissful song. Oh no at The Naked And Famous getting veto'd but even moreso OH NO at you not going with Fol Chen. :o I think you might've made a bit of an oops! there as I reckon it would've stood out a lot in this contest and possibly got you another hit in BJSC. :o I guess we'll never know now. :(
