Has 'Summertime Sadness' been confirmed as the fourth single? I know it's doing well in countries like Germany and Austria but I don't know if 'Blue Jeans' was released there. I hope it is as it's still one of the big highlights from the album and watching the music video only helped boost my love for the song even more.

I was late to jump onto the iamamiwhoami bandwagon but 'goods' is a marvel of Swedish disco. I guess because they're not a group I've followed, I only picked up on this song after seeing it #1 in Dandy, Ghosty and Leww's chart so decided to have a listen and... *.*

It's done a similar thing for me although I did award the track points. It's ended up gaining my affections and has climbed higher than I had expected it too.

No, I've not checked out Marina's album. Is it any good? Which tracks are the highlights for you? There were just a small handful of new releases. I've already wrote up my new chart and there are loads of entries - BJSC & London Olympics have a massive impact on the new chart. :D

Wowzers!!! :o Wasn't expecting to see this crash bang at #1 as a re-entry. Have to admit it's grown so much on me and up to last week had progressed 40-32 in my chart.
2. [2] Wings - Little Mix (5 - 9 - 16 - 2 - 2) [5wks]
100% :wub: For me, 'Wings' is the best X Factor proper debut single since 'Bleeding Love'. I love that the girls have gone for an uptempo party pop stomper with this and I'll actually be a bit gutted for them if this doesn't make #1 when released.
4. [3] Good Time - Owl City/Carly Rae Jepsen (1 - 1 - 1 - 4 - 6 - 3 - 4) [7wks]
Well, here's another grower. I guess sometimes when I hear a song for the first time I'm probably not in the right frame of mind to like a song for what it is. This is just a really simple but catchy pop song, and it does exactly was it says on the tin.

:wub: Already been no. 1 in my chart for 3 weeks. Still can't get enough of Florence's spectrum. :D So glad this had the chance to become a glorified UK chart topper.
10. [RE] Explode - Cover Drive (47 - 72 - x - 10) [3wks]
Urgh, a song featuring Dappy should never be good. It still irks me that I liked 'No Regrets' however short lived it was, but if I like a song then kudos to the artist. Which brings me to 'Explode' and I notice you've not credited Dappy. Is there a Dappy-less version? I saw the video to this the other day and thought it was a decent track. The female singer doesn't half remind me of Rihanna when she sings certain phrases. I guess it's a Barbados thing.
14. [8] Runaways - The Killers (6 - 7 - 8 - 14) [4wks]
Like this a lot but even now, I know this won't be a #1 hit in my chart. Compared to 'Human' which I fell in love with pretty much from the first time I heard that track. Spent 6 weeks at no. 1 and became my #1 of 2008. :D As for 'Runaways', it's left to be seen how successful this will be in the long term.

Another upcoming high profile release I'm liking. Can't say for sure just yet if this is a hot contender for my #1 spot. At the moment, I'd say no but closer to when it does enter my chart my opinion may have changed.

I didn't even know 'Summer Paradise' even existed until today, not a mention of it anywhere! That's pretty unusual for me so I'm wondering how many people actually know about it and will buy it this week.
As for 'Bom Bom', I LOVE IT. :wub: Will certainly do as this year's 'WTF' anthem but unlike the other two, I can see it having the potential to tire on me pretty quickly. :(
It's doing well in a few other countries charts at the moment. After Sean Paul's rather surprising success with 'She Doesn't Mind' maybe the fact he's featured will help sell the single. I quite like it!!! :ph34r:

BTW your entry ''In My Mind'' has entered the Dutch top40 and is now at #37.I fully hope to see the track smash in The Netherlands. Hopefully it'll pick up momentum in other countries. It's almost Gotye-esque levels of taking off (only on a much smaller scale). First charted in Australia, now Dutch charts. It'll be a UK top 10 hit in 12 months time. :D

I THINK I have an idea on what you're gonna send but it's based on nothing actually except that it's a Dutch party hit at the moment and could do well in the competition.Batidas have confirmed. :D
Decided to enter the infamous "track 3" from last month and hope people do make a genuine discovery from the track (I know Ghosty will be horrified :D ). I adore the song and feel like Batidas are due to enter something that isn't around 128 bpm like we have been doing every month so far this year (bar Ida that is). :lol:
My entry couldn't be more further away from Eurodance if it tried. I thought a change was needed and, like Woodkid, this is another fine example of a song I adore that isn't a dance track. :D

It's such a brilliant track and I've grown to appreciate the album version much more thanks to Calvin Harris remix. I was delighted when this did make #1 over 'Payphone' and even moreso that it kept its #1 place for 3 weeks.

Exactly how it's been for me too. Bizarrely I thought 'Love Me' was far more instant and that entered my chart at #9 but I got bored of the song so quickly that I don't even think it managed 6 weeks in my top 40. 'Black Heart' has done the complete opposite - I sort of liked it at first and its continued growing ever since. I think my love for the song is at its peak now so it probably won't peak much higher for me.

I'm also really happy to see 'Some Nights' starting to increase in sales as it continues climbing up iTunes. If it's C-listed on Radio 1 then that bodes well, especially if it eventually makes the A-list. Also by being available to buy now, it means it'll be a big selling single as it'd have already sold a fair amount by the time the track does peak on iTunes.

'Concrete Angel' was unfortunate to be part of one this years strongest BJSC finals. It's done well but I think this is going to be its final week on the chart.

OA/OS is ideal as people can buy songs as soon as they're released. The songs might not make #1 but could easily sell more in the longtern than had the song been kept back for months.
Which brings me onto pent-up releases. I don't really see the harm in holding a song back for 1 or 2 weeks after radio and video airplay kick in, and in most cases that's all that is required to build up enough momentum for the song. Eg; I think this is why it worked so well for 'Call Me Maybe' - its release was brought forward iirc and it managed to enter at #1, then increase its sales for 3 weeks.
It's the held back for 3 months that takes the biscuit. The sales are bulked up into its first week (by which point some potential buyers are already bored of the song - fickle Britain!!! :D ) so its sales drop sharply in week 2 rather than maintain decent sales for a few weeks. It's like 'How We Do' which I thought was getting released next week, but it's not until the week after. The song started getting UK airplay in late May (when the video premiered) and two and a half months on, it's still not available to buy. Although it's clearly a good thing as it's allowed Florence & The Machine 'Spectrum' to get three weeks at #1 instead. :lol:

I've completely underestimated this "chart battle" as it looks like it's going to be close all week. We'll probably see both singles decreasing at the same rate towards the end of the week.

#135Getting a little radio play. Can't wait for it to explode!
I also would really like to see fun. get a second big hit in the UK. It's already doing really well in Australia and New Zealand (just like how 'We Are Young' started). Could well be a future top 10 hit in about a month's time once radio airplay kicks in, and the video gets more airplay.

I'm really digging that use of Tahoma, Hits! <3 But seriously, all artwork I think is welcomed - obviously Lew's work is stunning, but I think all artwork including yours is a very good aid.
Sorry to disappoint you but I used the bog standard Arial font when I designed that artwork. :P Perhaps next time I will be more adventurous and use Tahoma. :lol:

Better late than never. :P My next BJSC entry is completely different to Oceana so I suspect those who voted for this, probably won't vote for my new entry.
08 (10) StooShe - Black Heart (35-27-27-17-10-08) [6 wks] :wub: Can't believe how well this has done!
It has been the perfect second single for StooShe. I didn't expect them to be #3 last week but the Now 82 effect helped them out. It's one of those songs that appeals to a wide range audience so I think this may also be adding to its success.
18 (--) Marina & The Diamonds - Power And Control (18) [1 wk] Such a shame this flopped in the official chart, it was a poor single choice though. Got my vote in the poll though!
It's not that bad a track but I've not heard the album to know which are considered highlights.

The love continues and so it should. Loreen should stick around for a while yet although floating around this area of the chart now.
40 (31) Emeli Sandé - My Kind Of Love (30-24-24-16-22-31-40) [7 wks] Nice to see that this was a sizable hit for Emeli, the video really helped me fall in love with it.
It was a grower for me, I wasn't 100% sold on the song at first and when it did start to grow on me, it entered relatively low down but then it managed to make the top 20 eventually. :D
