  2. Agree, I think Stromae will do a lot better than bottom 7. Might even be a top 10 contender you never know. :D
  3. Wasn't 'I'll Be Missing You' a million seller back in 1997? :D To quote Wiley :kink:

Batidas have voted. My top 5 are so so good.
  5. John Newman is going to be massive over the coming weeks. Wouldn't be at all surprised if we have a 1.000 Vs (eg) 0.575 for whoever is #2 on iTunes come Sunday evening. It'll have big first week sales, whether it can break 200k though is left to be seen.

To be honest, I think The Apprentice showed what type of show it really was with the "do the French love their children" comment. The show has been tainted ever since, and I agree that when someone like Tom (2011 series) could be the winner after being hopeless for 10 weeks really proved how useless the entire show is. It's also reflected with the people where I work. Up until 2009 it was one of those must see TV shows, and everyone would be talking about it. Now, if you mention The Apprentice at work you can see the tumbleweed going past.
  7. One Direction to do a 'Walks Like Rihanna' thank you very much. :D Fenech-Soler would be the far superior alternative in this case. Or just 'Best Flop Ever'

Leaving Francesca in the what now? :D
  9. I wouldn't be surprised if that was to happen. There doesn't appear to be anything on the release schedule and screams "next UK #1 right here" after John Newman. Then again, we might have another OA/OS track emerging from nowhere in the next couple of weeks that completely shakes up the iTunes chart.
  10. I'll be really surprised if 'Wake Me Up' doesn't have its release date brought forward. When I saw it down as 19th August as its release date, I instantly thought "no way will it be kept back that long". Agree about the track getting released towards the end of July - four weeks off to build up its airplay. Would be even more fantastic if it went up again One Direction's egotistical song 'Best Song Ever' (HA!!! I'm sure it is :P ) and outsold them. Pretty sure 'Wake Me Up' is the best song ever in that chart battle...and I've not even heard the 1D track yet. :D On a separate note, Icona Pop still building up a fairly decent lead over Robin Thicke so hopefully it'll hang on until Sunday. Massive LOL @ 'Walks Like Rihanna' almost on the verge of being overtaken by 'La La La'. The Wanted might even be low top 10 by the end of the week. They are gonna plummet down the chart next week.

I've had to be really strict with my voting to help with ordering the tracks. I've ranked all 29 entries into order of preference (my top 5 are all mega ace, pretty sure on them :D ) and 6-10 are all brilliant. Sorry to the unlucky two that are currently 11th and 12th. Not gonna vote just yet though as I want to see if my order changes with a couple more listens. There's only a small selection of songs I'm not overly fond of which just makes voting all the more difficult. :(

Please don't post predictions because they're always better than the official tracklist. :D I do agree with GD though, surely CD 1 is going to open with 'Get Lucky', then 'Blurred Lines'. Probably 'La La La' would be third. The cover art instantly screams SUMMER and if they get the big hits on there, this might even become a massive selling Now album because there have been some great hits in the higher reaches of the chart recently. :D I will sigh if 'Only Teardrops' is tracklisted as I'm already over Eurovision. Also if PJ & Duncan make the tracklist, it'll be one of those awkward songs that get tagged on at the end of CD 1.

COMING SOON... Doctor Blind joins BJSC :w00t:
  14. Ohh, I've got a contender for this. Would allow me to enter a rapless version of said track as it's annoyingly catchy but also really pop for Batidas standards but yet I do like this song. Think it's better to enter it to BJFestivalen than BJSC. :D I still haven't even started looking for songs for the next contest. Pavel, if you want some editing doing let me know. :D Just promise you won't do a Tirren, take my hard work then get someone to provide the Discotits key change. :( (I nearly jumped out of my chair in utter shock when I heard that key change in the Same Difference track as I wasn't expecting it)
  15. Do people really think the new Chase & Status single is going to be a big hit? Maybe it's destined to be the next 'La La La' in that case. Ie; massive hit that I've struggled to grasp why it's so popular. I mean 'La La La' is more quirky and memorable if only for the odd "la la la la la la" with the funny pitching. 'Lost And Not Found' sounds so ordinary and almost bland in comparison. :(
  16. Cheers Rich :D 03 (--) Dizzee Rascal feat. Robbie Williams - Goin' Crazy (03) [1 wk] Hmm, I love both Dizzee and Robbie individually from time to time but this song is only 'quite good' for me There's just something about this track which has really appealed to me. Well, it's mainly the chorus that's the clear selling point. Even at work today, I found myself humming the tune whilst I was sat at my desk. I think it's incredibly infectious. 07 (--) Delta Goodrem - Heart Hypnotic (07) [1 wk] Brilliant to see this here, do you think if you get any free time you could somehow make a 'Hitstastic remix' that turns the weird ending into a middle eight before the synths come crashing back in for a proper euphoric ending? I adored this on my first listen and couldn't quite believe it was Delta Goodrem. The euphoric breakdowns sound quite Avicii-esque. The awkward ending does ruin the song slightly for me, but then I sort of like that section too. I'd just rather it was part of another song altogether. I might consider doing a remix of sorts although my version would probably keep the entire song uptempo, I'd have to have a play around. 12 (--) Taylor Swift feat. Ed Sheeran - Everything Has Changed (12) [1 wk] Listening to this now, it's grown on me so much since getting Taylor's album, I guess a combination of two artists who have individually had multiple #1's in my chart was always going to win me over eventually The power of the music video. I reckon had it just been shots of Taylor and Ed singing to each other I would've found it boring to watch. However, the idea of mini Taylor & Ed provides the "aww factor" that was last seen on BGT with Pre-Skool. 18 (21) Mariah Carey feat. Miguel - #Beautiful (31-31-21-18) [4 wks] Slowly but surely wins the race, I'm really impressed with this after her dreadful last era didn't have a single good single Indeed, and it's UK chart run has been even steadier. At the rate it's climbing, it might be #1 in time for Christmas. :D 36 (--) Jason Derulo - The Other Side (36) [1 wk] Better than his singles of 2011 but I don't exactly love it I will never understand the appeal of Jason Derulo. He's just become one of those male artists who seems to have taken the UK by storm, and I'm not why. None of his singles, imo, have been close to even great ('Ridin' Solo' is his best single for me, and that couldn't make my top 20). This is better than the dirge that was 'Don't Wanna Go Home'. That's probably as close to a compliment I can give this song. :D Out of your pre-release chart, I hope Zombies In Love smashes, brilliant entry! And my UP entry from Sheppard, which inexplicably seems to be taking off in Australia, fantastic :D Maybe it would have been better suited to BJSC with hindsight... 'Zombies In Love' is definitely going to smash. Have you bought the track on iTunes? I even added an iTunes link in the Batidas National Thread. I mean, I've really loved my recent entries which might explain the poor form I endured in 2012 - they were more risky and it showed in their short(ish) chart runs. I know 'Under' finished 24th in BJSC, but I really like the song so it's going to have a much better chart run than 'Walking With A Ghost' for e.g. which ranked 25th in comparison. I noticed Sheppard were climbing up in Australia's chart and I thought of you instantly. :D I know it's cheesy but it's a pleasant song to listen to.
  17. You're never too late to the 'Get Lucky' party. I've already got my :D ready for its millionth purchaser. I downloaded 'I Love It' yesterday.
  18. ...but I wasn't hosting BJSC when I entered Riverside. :o
  19. Jutty Ranx woz robbed.
  20. EXCELLENT Get Lucky I Love It* (pls grab that #1) BRILLIANT Thrift Shop I Could Be The One Need U (100%) Blurred Lines GREAT Impossible Mirrors Get Up (Rattle) Waiting All Night Let's Get Ready To Rhumble OK La La La What About Us? JUST...NO!!! Scream & Shout One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks)
  21. YES!!! :w00t: Was keeping a look at Kworb at lunch time and saw it at 99% of Robin Thicke and thought it was bound to overtake after a couple of hours. Excellent result, now for the song to develop a decent lead on iTunes. So happy that 'Walks Like Rihanna' has failed to deliver. :D Now hoping 'Bang Bang' overtakes, shame a radio edit isn't available to buy (or video edit at least)
  22. 'Black Video' I still listen to this every now and again. Love how Batidas is all in capitals in that list so that it stands out. Oh yes, N DNTN. Well, the two of us can stand out. :D
  23. Looking at the Kworb update, if The Wanted are already in light red maybe Icona Pop and Will.I.Am will both overtake them. I'd be more than happy to see 'Walks Like Rihanna' enter at #4 next Sunday.
