'Get Lucky' really is sheer brilliance. I'm still not bored of the song and I can't get enough of it. Was doing some "retail thearapy" earlier today and it was played in Phones4U. Naturally I stopped browsing at the phones on display and just listened to Daft Punk instead. :lol: 06 (--) Emellie De Forest - Only Teardrops (06) [1 wk] Nice winner, it certainly had a good atmosphere and performance but it's not as much a classic as Fairytale/Satellite/Euphoria I think your comment about the sales of 'Only Teardrops' compared of 'Euphoria' this time last year hit the nail on the head. This year there wasn't a single track that really stood out in a massive way like Loreen last year. That said, I actually regarded Denmark's entry as my overall fave so can't complain with this years Eurovision winner. 'Euphoria', 'Every Way That I Can' and 'Satellite' are still much betters winners imo. I'd say Emmelie de Forest is on par with 'Wild Dances'. I never got the deal with 'Fairytale' even though it was clearly very popular. 19 (--) Margaret Berger - I Feed You My Love (19) [1 wk] Margaret :wub: Thought this would be huge for you Eurovision got overshadowed by the continued rise of BJSC LIII gems that rocket up my chart this week. I really don't know if it's got anything to do with the fact I hosted, but I found so many great discoveries in last months contest compared to BJSC LIV this month. :( 23 (--) Zlata Ognevich - Gravity (23) [1 wk] This is such an interesting ballad, the structure is really unique, glad it came top three After hearing this for the first time, it stood out as a potential Eurovision hit in waiting. Deserved to come top 3 in the final, a great song. 25 (--) Naughty Boy feat. Sam Smith - La La La (25) [1 wk] I like but don't love this Same here. Seems strange that whilst Emeli Sandé was still flavour of the year, 'Wonder' could only make #10 officially yet I still think 'Wonder' is far more anthemic than 'La La La' will ever be. 38 (--) Anouk - Birds (38) [1 wk] Shame this is so low, it's gorgeous. Do you remember Anouk's 90s hits? Anouk was just unfortunate to be up against so many tracks that I'm liking more. It was my 6th favourite Eurovision finalist so was never going to be high up my chart anyways. Have to be honest, I'm not that familiar with many of Anouk's hits. I know she has scored many hits in The Netherlands over the years but I wouldn't know how any of them went.

Cheers Liam :D 16 I can't see how this cannot be the song of the summer, it has to be HUGE! Going to sound epic at parties or just lounging around in the sun. :wub: I really hope it is too. Been wanting to buy this on iTunes for months now. It's had a boost recently because I've heard it more via those adverts and it's also being used as a soundbite for Smash Hits TV. I just hope they don't leave it too long otherwise by the time it's released people might be bored of the song. 25 Love this, looks like it's going to have debut sales of 140k+, probably 150k+, which is so much more than I was expecting a week or two ago. I agree with SevenSeize that the quality of number ones this year have been generally of a high standard. 145k sold last week which is really impressive. I just don't regard it as a classic #1 hit in the making. Pretty sure it'll become one of those forgotton hits of the '10s in a year from now. Daft Punk selling a further 100k is a bigger highlight of the week imo. Now there's a modern day classic in the making. :D

Pharrell - Get Lucky (01-01-01-01-01) [5 wks] SNAP again, if only the track had 5 weeks in the official chart, 4 weeks is quite an achievement though It's a shame because looking at Kworb, Daft Punk combined are very close to Naughty Boy so wouldn't be at all surprised if 'Get Lucky' was to hold at #2 whilst 'Blurred Lines' smashes in at #1. Said all along that 'La La La' would drop down the charts quite quickly, and I still think that will happen. 16 (16) Icona Pop feat. Charli XCX - I Love It (01-01-02-02-03-05-06-08-14-12-17-21-21-26-28-32-21-16-16) [19 wks] This track is crying out to be #1 in the official chart, depends what other competition there is that week. That's record companies for you, they haven't a clue sometimes. Had they released this earlier in the year (when it was top 10 in Ireland for eg) 'I Love It' would probably be one of the top 10 biggest selling singles of the year right now even if it never actually got to #1 in the UK. It still seems that record companies consider a UK #1 selling 90k first week and tailing off fast is more important than a single peaking at #2 and becoming a million seller. Go figure!!! :lol: Eurovision all the way... why not :D Eurovision usually has a bigger impact on my chart but the recent BJSC LIII competition was packed with so many excellent tracks that they've all benefitted more this week with only Emmelie De Forest making any type of real impact. To think this time last year Loreen was on her to becoming my biggest hit of 2012. Think it's safe to say my #1 single of 2013 won't be from Eurovision. :P

'Elephant' and 'Let It Go' were both dreadful so it's no wonder Alexandra bombed. I agree with the comment about listening to Rebecca Ferguson's album and taking notes. As others have posted, with the right material Alexandra could easily have a big comeback. Same with Leona Lewis. They just need some really strong tracks to revive their careers.

'Blurred Lines', yes. I reckon that will be the next US no. 1 but can't see Daft Punk topping the US charts. Out of interest, how many of those transatlantic #1 hits were simultaneous?

Same here. Had 'Mainline' been a proper discovery in BJSC it'd be looking at 12 or 10 points easily. I did mark it down in the final (not so much in the semi but that was because I struggled to find 10 songs that I really liked) but that said, there were more than enough SF2 gems to knock it down anyways.

Getting closer to getting the wooden spoon award. Poor Alex Hepburn. :( Oh well, can't really complain after 2 months of doing well. Still hoping Skall delivers tomorrow. :D
