Re; Cher Lloyd she won't flop because this is her debut into the world of music. Her first single will probably get the same treatment Diana Vickers 'Once' received last year.
However, once 'Swagger Jagger' has been and gone, where will Cher Lloyd go from there? Will she sustain a healthy career with a couple more chart toppers and big selling debut album? Or will she quickly fade back into obscurity when X Factor 2011 starts and everyone is transfixed with the "next big thing" and quickly forget the previous "next big thing"?

I assume you discovered this via my compilation used in CD Swap recently. So quickly it's stormed to #1 in your chart. :D

One of many great tracks that featured in BJSC XXXIV - still think the quality of XXXV isn't as strong but I guess XXXIV really set the standard. Maybe the dip in quality was inivitable.
(04) 05. Near To God - Pati Yang (10-04-05)
Such a shame to see this leaving the competition so early. It was easily one of my top 10 faves from our semi final and I think this would've been a great qualifier.
(06) 07. Black Video - SX (20-06-07)

(11) 10. Bright Lights, Bigger City - Cee Lo Green (24-13-11-10)
Easily Cee Lo's second best single after the mightly 'Forget You!' which I still think is excellent.
(10) 12. Good For Nothing - Hard-Fi (28-09-05-06-04-10-12)
Having heard this last week, I thought this was a pretty decent new single from Hard-Fi. So perhaps it's a real sign on the times when this fails to go top 40 in the UK. The album could go top 10 but I doubt the success (or lack?) of the new album will help the song.

Beyonce's got a decent lead over Jason Derulo. Remember, he only sold 76k last week and I'm sure his sales will decrease this week - by how much I'm not sure.
'Best Thing I Never Had' still has a chance of getting to no. 1 but would have to maintain its lead over Jason Derulo for the rest of the week.

As much as I usually don't like seeing loads of one week wonders, I'd actually prefer to see Beyonce's new single get to no. 1 this Sunday. 'Best Thing I Never Had' is so much better than 'Run The World (Girls)' so this new single really does deserve to do well. Plus, with '4' looking set to debut at no. 1 in the album chart on Sunday it'd be a rare occasion where an artist will have entered at no. 1 in both the sinfles and album charts in the same week. 'BTINH', even with just 1 week at #1, will definitely stick around for a few months. A video will help boost sales for the song and it also sounds like the type of song I can imagine wannabes singing on X Factor.

Sorry James :( I just really don't get Unnamed Love.
The first time I played 'Unnamed Love' all I could hear in my head was "la la la la la you make me feel good, la la la la la you make me feel good, etc...".
Well, 'Unnamed Love' and 'You Make Me Feel' from BJSC XXXIV are similar - practically identical even. :D

It really is a great track even if I don't have a clue what Eric is singing - it's such an uplifting slice of Scandipop. My top 4 again has been four of my biggest fave tracks recently but they will have to start making way for fresh songs eventually. Eric Amarillo was fortunate to make the top 5 - it nearly went to Ed Sheeran.

Following on from the above comment, I had wanted 'The A Team' to make my top 5 last week but taking everything into considering a climb to #6 was the best the track could get. Next weekend...we shall see.

It's definitely another of really odd chart runs. First charted off the back on Unknown Pleasures 5 where 'Pumped Up Kicks' was entered and quickly became one of my fave tracks. Then just when it looked like it was on its way out, it was announced as a future single appearing on the Radio 1 playlist. So that sort of persuaded me to keep the song in the chart albeit floating around the top 20 for several weeks. Now thanks to its official release week, it shoots up to a new peak of #14.

I don't remember much of Glamma Kid but purely because I choose not to. :P I think I understand the comparisons but I do like 'Don't Know Why'. You can blame BJSC XXXIV for this.

I only heard 'I Wanna Go' for the first time yesterday morning when I saw the video on one of the music channels. I was actually quite impressed - moreso than I was when I heard 'Till The World Ends' at first. So yes, Britney Spears could be enjoying her third top 10 hit in my chart in a couple of weeks time.

Well I already think 'Last Friday Night' is far superior to the dreadful 'E.T.' which I just didn't like at all - her vocals on the track are terriblr imo. Then there was 'Teenage Dream' which was a quite flat. So this is definitely a step in the right direction for me.

This is fairly decent and it's a shame they missed the top 40. Whether the album will do any good when released is left to be seen. It does seem like once again another British rock group have fallen by the wayside.

The two tracks you mention were ok. Well, 'Anti-D' just scraped into my top 40. I thought 'Tokyo (Vampires And Wolves)' was a great choice of single to introduce the album. 'Techno Fan' is ok - it has a great synth melody that lifts this above being another "generic landfill indie song".

Interestingly, if people did bump up songs in their votes due to an interesting video, then songs without a video would be at an instant disadvantage :o But then the majority of BJSC winners haven't had music videos at the time of their win.
Well Charice won the last contest and 'Louder' didn't have an official video - just one of those "made in minutes" jobs with the animated lyrics. :lol:

Britt Love will definitely get points from some of the 'indie bloc' I think, if only for the production! A lot of the decent indie-friendly stuff went crashing out in the semis which further proves my point that pure pop is set to be massively dominant this month. As it stands, Utopia and Eledan could well be raking in a lot of 12s and 10s.
Actually I'd agree with that list. Well, not sure if 'Alien Summer' would appeal to the most indie fan but who knows.

It's really difficult to know how the results are going to pan out. I will admit, when I listened to the song I didn't see that video - when I did, I didn't know what to make of it - it's bizarrely interesting. :lol: I think people may well for the video as opposed to the song. It doesn't strike me as "winner" hence my odds of 32/1
Same with Britt Love who probably will end up top 5 but I just bring myself to give that song anything more than 16/1 - if it wins with a massive percentage so be it, but I will be disappointed. :(
I've also edited my top 10 as I'd missed out Ashton when going through all the countries. :o

Well to be fair I have slashed the odds for 'Come With Me'. I thought 16/1 was being generous. :( I just can't get into the song at all but it does seem to be popular with a few posters. However, I'm also thinking of the indie voters and those who keep a low profile - will they be as willing to give "diluted Robyn" their points?

I'm thinking Britt Love is over hyped a little bit...I don't think it's going to win.
Me either. If it does, it will be a really poor winner imo. There are a handful of brilliant tracks in the final - Britt Love is nowhere near amongst them imo. It's her awkward vocals that really distract from the song. Now, had it been Robyn providing vocals it'd be a ** disco smilie ** moment of pop glory. Britt Love cheapens it somewhat. :(
