  1. :D 'Summertime Sadness' is a sublime song imo, topped my chart last year whilst it was a hit in Europe. Would love to see this track become a genuine hit, and if it takes a remix to achieve that then yay! \o/ (I still much prefer the remix of 'Spectrum' to the original though) Speaking of remixes of 'Summertime Sadness' by Lana Del Rey step forward AEROCHE. :w00t: hZf_xexzN74 Maybe they could release 'Cold Nights' as a rival remix to Cedric Gervais' remix.
  2. Pretty sure he'll leave after he left the studio after Andrea won to post the word "Don't" on Twitter in reply to someone who had tweeted that they wanted to audition for The Voice just to meet Will.I.Am. At this rate there could be a whole new set of coaches for series 3, unless Sir Tom Jones decides to stick around.
  3. Cheers Rich :D 03 (06) Will.I.Am feat. Leah McFall - Bang Bang (11-06-03) [3 wks] This had a short shelf life for me due to the novelty factor, Scream & Shout is still my favourite single of this era I really struggled to get into 'Scream & Shout' so it stalled at #40 in my chart for two weeks before dropping out again. It's better than the godawful '#thatPOWER'. Justin Bieber is fast becoming the most obnoxious person in the entire world. Look what you've done Usher!!! Anyways, I've grown to like 'Bang Bang' (songs growing on me seems to be a regular occurrence in my chart  ) although it's purely the Leah McFall version from The Voice that I like. 04 (03) Postiljonen - Supreme (01-01-01-03-03-04) [6 wks] OT; I can finally download this next week when the song becomes available to download from their album. 05 (--) Stromae - Papaoutai (05) [1 wk] This and Formidable are pretty good but neither touch Alors On Danse for me I've not taken to 'Formidable' at all. Gave it a listen the other week but it isn't a patch on 'Papaoutai' which is far more up my street. I agree though that 'Alors On Danse' was an exceptional slice of Eurodance. 16 (21) Sheppard - Let Me Down Easy (29-21-16) [3 wks] :D I knew you would approve. To think, you even wasn't sure about entering this into UP yet it's actually done reasonably well in Australia's chart. 19 (--) Sebastian Ingrosso, Tommy Trash & John Martin - Reload (19) [1 wk] I really like this now, it's been growing on me a lot. That said it doesn't 'feel' like a top 3 hit at all, so I'm surprised it's done so well. None of Swedish House Mafia's singles apart from Don't You Worry Child did that well  I agree, still don't think it's top 3 material at all but the UK iTunes buying public clearly disagree. :D 'DYWC' is a proper dance anthem whilst 'Reload' is merely a decent track without any real killer hook.
  4. Cheers Dan :D Whilst I like the new singles from Katy B and Iggy Azalea, I do prefer 'Reload' personally. I guess the track growing on me more over time has helped in that case. :P Oh, I should check out your national thread more often. Didn't know you'd posted your potentials in there.
  5. This post suggests otherwise. (you do make me laugh Griff :D )
  6. Hitstastic posted a post in a topic in BuzzJack Song Contest
Promising opening odds for Batidas. I'll be giving these a listen tomorrow so will post my own odds tomorrow evening. :D
  7. Oh well, like Nelly Furtado once sang "all good things come to an end".
  8. Yes pls. :D I'd be amazed to see Avicii get a few weeks at #1 with 'Wake Me Up'. Even if it suffered a 50% decrease next week, it's still looking at at least 125k (thinking ahead here guys!!! ) which could still be enough to prevent 1D from getting to #1. I'd like to be surprised because ID followed by Tinie Tempah seemed likely to be the next two UK #1 hits, but 'Wake Me Up' holding off the competition would be as brilliant as when 'We Found Love' prevented all the boyband blah stuff from going to no. 1 in late 2011. :D
  9. +5 John Newman · 'Love Me Again' +4 Daft Punk ft. Pharrell Williams · 'Get Lucky' +3 Icona Pop ft. Charli XCX · 'I Love It' +2 Robin Thicke Ft. TI & Pharrell Williams · 'Blurred Lines' +1 Passenger · 'Let Her Go' -1 Will.I.Am · 'Bang Bang' -2 Sebastian Ingrosso, Tommy Trash & John Martin · 'Reload' -3 Naughty Boy ft. Sam Smith · 'La La La' -4 Jason DeRulo · 'The Other Side' -5 Lawson ft. B.O.B · 'Brokenhearted
  10. You could be right though. :o Kworb update at the moment: 1. Avicii - Wake Me Up 1.0000 2. Robin Thicke - Blurred Lines (feat. T.I. & Pharrell) 0.2312 (with other versions probably bumping this figure to something like 0.2412) 'Blurred Lines' sold around 82k last week so say Robin Thicke is looking set to sell 70k this week, Avicii is selling x4 what Robin is. 70k x 4 = 280k, but unless Avicii manages to maintain a massive lead all week 'Wake Me Up' might be looking at a potential 250k first week sale. :o Edit; what ___∆___ posted above. :D
  11. Ohh, was expecting you to choose Young Galaxy but I agree that Stromae/Young Galaxy/Chordashian are all glorious in their own way. All 3 tracks are likely to climb next week. :D
  12. I will never understand those UK chart rules from 2006 with songs exiting the chart completely two weeks after the CD single was deleted. How can anyone justify Gnarls Barkley 'Crazy' having a UK chart run of 01-01-01-01-01-01-01-01-01-02-05-OUT. :manson: It really was the most bizzare chart rule to ever exist. At least 'Crazy' didn't actually lose its sales in those 30 or so weeks when it clearly would've still been in the UK top 40 under the 2007 chart rules. Just a shame they didn't implement the 2007 chart rules earlier in 2006.
  13. Aquafina are paying Batidas a rather nice amount of money to have the privilege of getting Zara Larsson to represent them. Now, that's what you call politics. :D
  14. Congrats Issac. :D Your entry and Joseph's made up my top 2 so a great result from this heat imo. :w00t:
  15. 'Purple Pills' by D-12 had sales from one of its CD singles disqualified because it came with a free sticker. It meant Robbie Williams spent a fortnight at #1 with 'Eternity'.
  16. Séyetana to go through pls thnx. :D
  17. Well done Bellamia. I was rather impressed with your entry. Send more stuff like this to BJSC and Batimia may become a thing for the future. :D
  18. I was going to enter an edited version of 'Walking On Air' into BJFestivalen but decided to enter the song into BJSC instead. 'Fantastic Shine' just happened to fit the 3 minute rule.
  19. Well all the songs I voted for made the top 5 so a good result all round. Poor BRAVE Love Of Lesbian though. They never stood a chance really, did they? :D
  20. Despite there being 2 French entries here, one far surpassed the other imo so if one of them gets through I'm hoping it's the track I preferred of the two. Edit; :D
  21. Quite sure this is where I exit so I'm just going to root for my 12 pointer. :D

  23. Cheers Harve :D I'm delighted to see your approval of my newbies this week. If you had to pick one favourite, which song would you choose?
  24. Cheers Martin :D Phew!!! No OneD yet :teresa: I've yet to hear 'Best Song Ever' but if I like it enough, it will make an appearance here. Avicii aiming for that #1 next week :D Is my chart that predictable? :P
  25. Cheers Dan :D 01 (01) Manufactured Superstars - Zombies In Love (01-01) [2 wks] Great #1 here, it's one the best songs I've discovered in BJSC! I adore this song, everything about the track appeals to me and ticks all the boxes. Melodic dance with Lego video. What more could you want? 03 (06) Will.I.Am feat. Leah McFall - Bang Bang (11-06-03) [3 wks] I'm not a big fan, it's the weakest of his #willpower singles :( This really has become a surprise hit with me. When I first saw the video, after about 30 seconds I'd decided I'd had enough and changed the channel. Then when I discovered Will & Leah were going to perform 'Bang Bang' my reaction was one of :manson: . So I watched the performance and soon realising where the song was going I sort of smiled at the shot of Leah shuffling along on stage whilst singing "bang...bang" and for some bizzare reason I found myself liking the song a lot more than I'd imagined. So yes, it's become one of those TV performances that keeps drawing me back (a bit like when Alexandra Burke & Beyonce performed 'Listen' on The X Factor). Very few of these TV performances end up having such an impact on me, but this version of 'Bang Bang' does. 05 (--) Stromae - Papaoutai (05) [1 wk] I thought I would be a fan of this seeing as he made Alors on Danse which I loved. Unfortunately Papaoutai doesn't do it for me Aww, I think 'Papaoutai' is a brilliant track and deserved my 12 points. I had no idea that Juran Juran was going to enter the song to BJSC, especially after I PM'd Bre the song as a potential "foreign language hit". I also really like the quirkiness of the video too. 19 (--) Sebastian Ingrosso, Tommy Trash & John Martin - Reload (19) [1 wk] I voted for this, top tune from a former SHM member I haven't really taken to this at all. I remember when people started predicting 'Reload' to be a massive top 3 hit a couple of months back so decided to have a listen. It didn't grab my attention on first listen so didn't understand what was so special but needless to say it's grown on me since. It was never going to be a top 10 hit in my chart though. 'Don't You Worry Child' is in a different league. 36 (30) Icona Pop feat. Charli XCX - I Love It (01-01-02-02-03-05-06-08-14-12-17-21-21-26-28-32-21-16-16-13-19-23-28-20-30-36) [26 wks] Now that's what I call a long chart run! 23 weeks longer than it's current UK chart run  The sad thing is that had 'I Love It' been released a few months ago, it might've had a much healthier chart run. Granted it may have peaked at #2 or #3 because of it, but it would've been a bigger selling single than it's now set to be which is unfortunate, but that's record companies for you. :( Still isn't close to the record longest run in my top 40 which goes to Gotye feat. Kimbra with a record breaking 35 weeks in my top 40. :o
