Longest amount of time spent on itunes number 1 position?
With Daft Punk still riding high at the number 1 position on UK Itunes after about 3 and a half weeks weeks, it got me wondering who holds the records for longest continuous reign at number 1 on itunes....any ideas?

Not sure if this is sarcasm or not but if not, its the official music video accounts for artists music videos, either through their own site or through Youtube. http://www.vevo.com/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vevo

Top UK artists Vevo views
The original thread was done in January 2012, before they had really released anything. And alot of the artist such as Alexandra Burke and Pixie Lott were a lot bigger then, its hard to believe now but before the flop of her 2nd era Alexandra Burke was pretty successful.

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 24th March 2013
I think the reason why its climbing so much since last night is partly due to repeats but i think a lot of it is viral, people are sharing the video on facebook and talking about it on forums like this. I got a text off my friend last night about it lol

US Billboard Top 200 Digital Songs - 03/23/2013 (with sales)
For the song that is currently number 1 to have sold over 4.5million already is pretty amazing.

Daily US Airplay Updates - AUG 2012 - JUN 2013
The whole radio play thing in the US seems so unfair...someone like Olly Murs has taken about 3 months to get to 40m and Demi Lovato can get there in a bout a week! It just seems unfair that people are obviously buying certain songs as they're doing well on itunes and yet the radio stations still decide not to play them and then they're obviously not hits. Oh well rant over.

Music Purchases This Week: Week Beginning 3rd March 2013
I finally got round to buying Delta Goodrem's Child of the Universe this. Gonna have my first listen to it today, fingers crossed it lives up to her previous albums.

Most surprising #1s?
I really think it was the quality of the song! I very rarely bought singles at that point but I bought it, infact if I remember correctly it was the first single (bar Kylie which I collect) I had bought in at least 6 months/a year, it was my 1st Atomic Kitten Single (well only actually) and I remember a few of my friends buying it. I remember being shocked when it hit number 1 but it just had a life of its own. Much like Believe by Cher actually, who thought at that time that she'd ever have another number 1? I remember hearing it for the first time on the National Lottery and saying there and then that I was gonna buy it. I couldn't get it anywhere though as it was sold out EVERYWHERE, thats when I knew it was gonna be really big.

Best selling albums and singles in 2012
Ooh 3 of the top 4 albums are British and 5 of the top 10, not bad at all, especially when you compare it to 10 years ago or so.

British acts in the US for 2013
Firstly I dont think you can call 1D a flash in the pan, they've had 2 top 10 hits and 2 top 40 hits as well as two 1.5 million sellings albums, yeah their success is not gonna last forever but they're a boyband, their success always fades eventually. The Wanted on the other hand have only really had 1 hit single and a very small selling album (less than 100k). And even mentioning Adele in the same breath as Olly Murs or The Wanted is ridiculous, no one has sold as many albums in the past 10 years, including any of the US megastars, Im not saying her next era is 100% guarenteed but she'd really have to release a load of drivvle for it not to sell after the biggest era of the past 10 years. I do agree a bit on the Olly Murs 'flash in the pan' thought, yes it looks like Troublemaker is gonna be a top 10 hit eventually in the US but what will he follow it up with? His next best single was 'Heart Skips a Beat' which has already been and gone in the US, I cant really see any of his other hits being big in the US. I have a feeling Little Mix will be quite big in the US, maybe not quite 1D big but have a few decent sized hits and a hit album at least.

Million sellers that you have contributed to
Im so shocked at this, I honestly thought I would have had about half of them but when I went through the list these are the only ones I actually bought the CD single or downloaded. 13 Aqua - Barbie Girl (1997) 1,790,000 16 Cher- Believe (1998) 1,740,000 43 Maroon 5 ft Christina Aguliera - Moves Like Jagger (2011) 1,375,000 [2] (05.01.13) 70 Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe (2012) 1,143,000* (14.01.13) 76 Kylie Minogue - Can't Get You Out Of My Head (2001) 1,150,000 89 Jessie J ft. B.o.B - Price Tag (2011) 1,110,000 91 Shayne Ward - That's My Goal (2005) 1,103,351* (14.01.13) 116 The Pogues & Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale Of New York (1987/2005) 1,012,662 [2] (05.01.13) 127 David Guetta feat. Sia - Titanium (2011/2012) 1,000,537^ (11.02.13) However there was at least 50 that I had on album, kinda shows that Ive always been more of an albums guy rather than a single guy. Oh and I also had quite a few that were illegally downloaded oops.

Spotify is now the No. 2 revenue source for the major labels
Can I ask a bit of advice? Whats the big difference between the £4.99 subscription and the £9.99 subscription? I thought it was being able to download but everything I've clicked on comes up with the message "we're currently not supporting new download purchases on Spotify"...
