Biggest Number Twos
Kid Rock - All Summer Long has spent the longest at #2 for me, ever. It was #2 for five weeks, four behind Dizzee Rascal and one behind The Ting Tings and was my ninth placed song of 2008. It had the following chart run: 16-6-3-2-2-2-2-2-4-9-16-24-31-39-49-63-75-88-98-> 19 Weeks However, the song that peaked at #2 and finished highest on my end of year chart is, inevitably, Chasing Cars, my longest charting track ever. It went like this: 4-2-4-6-3-2-4-5-10-9-10-11-16-23-25-26-27-31-33-39-39-43-41-41-47-51-52-58-57-62-70-72-68-66-75-79-83-88-92-96-100-94-99-> 43 Weeks

iTunes Chart: February 2011 (I)
I thought it would be YMAS highest charting song so far, but never thought of it as a top ten song. It is similar to Airplanes and Written In The Stars I guess, but the riff is much heavier. It seems guitar driven soaring choruses are in at the moment!

iTunes Chart: February 2011 (I)
Looking increasingly like it's going to be a first top ten single for both You Me At Six and Chiddy Bang!

iTunes Chart: February 2011 (I)
Thing is, The E.N.D. was only on about 300k by the time Meet Me Halfway was getting exposure, and was seen as a relative flop at the time. It was only due to the success of that single and due to it being the festive period that it made 1m at all. And that was six months after The E.N.D. was released.

Traktor to #7 Coming Home to #10 Britney appears to have gone again.

iTunes Chart: January 2011 (II)
That Manran song is an attempt to get a Gaelic song into the Top 40 for the first time on downloads. I've had a listen, it's actually quite good! It's up to #64 aswell and Britney's disappeared from my iTunes....

iTunes Chart: January 2011 (II)

Bloc Party.
BLOC PARTY: #15 The Pioneers #5 Two More Years #2 The Prayer #6 I Still Remember #8 Hunting For Witches #1 Flux #10 Mercury #22 Talons #2 One Month Off #27 Signs #5 One More Chance Looking back, Helicopter, Banquet and So Here We Are would all have been top ten hits too. Nothing really to change here, they all made around what they deserved. Would probably make Hunting For Witches and Two More Years bigger hits now though. Try as I might as just didn't like Talons as much as everyone else seemed to, a shame. Flux was my #5 of 2007.

Arctic Monkeys
ARCTIC MONKEYS: #1 I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor #1 When The Sun Goes Down #4 The View From The Afternoon #5 Leave Before The Lights Come On #1 Brianstorm #9 Fluorescent Adolescent #7 Teddy Picker #11 Crying Lightning #29 Cornerstone #14 My Propeller Oh dear, their third album was such a disappointment. I got into it eventually, but it's just not as good as the first two. Nothing to quibble about now looking back, though My Propeller probably should just have scraped top ten, considering how it grew. It's certainly on a par with Fluorescent Adolescent at least.

The Killers
THE KILLERS: #1 When You Were Young #2 Bones #3 Read My Mind #2 For Reasons Unknown #5 Tranquilize (feat. Lou Reed) #13 Don't Shoot Me Santa #1 Human #16 Joseph, Better You Than Me (feat. Elton John & Neil Tennant) #1 Spaceman #9 The World We Live In #3 A Dustland Fairytale #24 ¡Happy Birthday Guadalupe! #17 Boots I didn't chart their first Christmas song, but it's by far the best. If I did my chart during the Hot Fuss era, then Somebody Told Me would certainly have been #1 and probably Mr. Brightside aswell. All These Things That I've Done and Smile Like You Mean It would also certainly have been top ten hits. Looking back, the only one that sticks out there is Bones. That should have had a low top ten peak, but I was really obsessed with them in late 2006.

Mika
MIKA: #2 Grace Kelly #9 Love Today #8 Big Girl (You Are Beautiful) #15 Happy Ending #12 Relax, Take It Easy/Lollipop #18 We Are Golden #44 Blame It On The Girls #18 Rain #1 Kick Ass (with RedOne) Yeah it shocked me too. Three years after he was popular he scored a #1, surely his only one, in my chart. Happy Ending is probably my favourite now from his first album, so on reflection it undercharted, though late 2007 was a tough chart time. I definitely undercharted Relax... though, I charted it as a double-a side with Lollipop which is inferior. Maybe that dragged it down. Rain was the best song from his latest album.

Kelly Clarkson
KELLY CLARKSON: #3 Since U Been Gone #8 Behind These Hazel Eyes #1 Because of You #4 Walk Away #14 Breakaway #12 Never Again #33 Sober #1 My Life Would Suck Without You #31 I Do Not Hook Up #26 Already Gone I'm shocked how well she's done actually, though I was really into the Breakaway album. Looking back, Since U Been Gone I remember spending ages in my chart, and was my #14 of 2005. Because of You was my Christmas #1 in 2005, but hasn't aged as well as some of the others. Breakaway I undercharted I think, even back then I liked it more than a #14. Never Again would not be that high now, Mid #20's for that really. My Life Would Suck Without You got to #1 on a quiet week, a good track, but one I got over pretty fast. My lowest ranked #1 of 2009 in my end of year charts.
