Chromatica • chart updates
OH. MY. GOD. :o What the hell happened to UK album sales haha! I think she'll do 40k-45k here in the UK. Bit more than Joanne/ASIB but not quite as high as ARTPOP's debut numbers.

'Chromatica' singles
Rain On Me is going to slay for a little while but I think, the next singles (in this order) should be: 3. Free Woman (it's not as brash as SL/ROM, but still demonstrates beautiful vocals and some of the album's best lyrics. It's simple yet ethereal and encapsulates exactly what Chromatica is about. Reminds me of Whitney Houston, I think she'd be foolish not to release this, especially given its one of the best performing non-singles on Spotify.) 4. Sour Candy (It's clear there's hype there so why not milk it for all it's worth? Fans want a video of the 5 together and I think letting it simmer before releasing it as a single with a video would help continue hype. I don't know how it would chart, but it's seemed to surprise a lot of us. 2020 Q4 ideally.) 5. 911 (The Clear fan-favourite deserves a shot as a single. I don't exactly expect this to smash the charts, especially given the context of the song and the self-loathing lyrics but fans/the GP seem to all agree it's on of the album's highlights.) 6. Sine From Above (A beautiful song. I think they'd be ridiculous not to release this as a single further down the line, giving the album campaign a final lease of life. It works more as a post-album single as it's perhaps the closest thing to a ballad the album has ironically. Plus the UK loves Elton so I'm sure it would chart well here.) 7. Babylon (Finish on a high. I think Babylon would be a great single and think it would be a fond farewell to an astonishing era. Will it chart well? No, it'd be the 7th single off an album, not even Taylor Swift can pull off that. But I do think a long-ass video like the old days, would be nostalgic and celebratory.) Apparently she wants the era to be long, so why not have multiple post-album singles? I don't think any track is going to smash on a global level quite like ROM, so why not go all out? We haven't had a BIG era singles-wise since 2011. We deserve it and she waits years before dropping albums, so I'd like the duration of waiting to feel less strict and long. I want to bask in this for so long, plus the visuals (so far) have been on point!

Harry Styles - Watermelon Sugar
StupidLove posted a post in a topic in Harry Styles and One Direction's Harry Styles and One DirectionI hope it manages to reach top 15 this week, even 16 if just to re-peak

ROUND 1: Ariana UK Top 10 singles survivor
Wow, wayyy more top 10's than I realised.

Rain On Me • chart updates
Has it increased on Today's Top Hits (or whatever it's called). I know it was 19 yesterday and kept gradually increasing? If it reaches top 5-10, we could have another week at no.1, is it out of the question for a second week this week?

Nicola Formichetti hints at more visuals
We deserved it after having a lack of singles/videos from ARTPOP, Joanne and A Star Is Born!

Rated R Survivor 2020. Round 1.
Stupid In Love is the main dud. I never knew Photographs was so disliked, I thought it was a fan-favourite

Chromatica • chart updates
Looks like Alice may beat Stupid Love out of the 3 tracks allowed to chart in the UK. A shame, because it would've been SL's 14th week and could've crept into the top 50.

Correct winner and Miss Congeniality.

Lady Gaga - Sour Candy (with Blackpink) ● Promo single
Imagine! I think it'll be top 20 but top 10 would be a real treat :yahoo:

Lady Gaga - Chromatica ● 6th album
She clearly planned a big era so why not live up to it? Given a lot has been delayed and cancelled, once she's allowed to do physical promotion and performances, she's going to come with such a fire. 2 videos have apparently been shot and 1 is ready (apparently Free Woman). We waited four years for a solo album from Gaga, why not let it live for as long as possible? She wanted 7/8 singles with BTW and was cut short at 5. It's not like it's out of her realm and with her shooting a film later the year/next year, releasing a few videos and promo here and there won't hurt. I can see Free Woman, Sour Candy, 911, Babylon and Sine From Above all being singles and executed quite well if she and Bobby wanted to. No.1 hits like ROM? No. But they'd prolong the era, keep the album afloat and be enjoyable for fans who haven't had a long era in nearly a decade.

Lady Gaga - Chromatica ● 6th album
Joanne and Born This Way remain my faves but this has some career highlights: 911, Rain On Me, Babylon, Alice. 911, Free Woman and Sine From Above all have to become singles at some point! Although take the messy dubstep outro out of SFA's final 30 seconds for the radio edit

Chromatica • rankings
On first listen: 01. Rain On Me ft. Ariana Grande 02. 911 03. Replay 04. Stupid Love 05. Babylon 06. Alice 07. Sine From Above ft. Elton John 08. Fun Tonight 09. Free Woman 10. Sour Candy ft. BLACKPINK 11. Plastic Doll 12. 1000 Doves 13. Enigma After getting used to the album: 01. 911 02. Replay 03. Alice 04. Rain On Me ft. Ariana Grande 05. Free Woman 06. Sine From Above ft. Elton John 07. Babylon 08. Stupid Love 09. Enigma 10. Fun Tonight 11. Sour Candy ft. BLACKPINK 12. Plastic Doll 13. 1000 Doves My faves have to be 911, Replay, Alice, Rain On Me & Free Woman. Enigma, Fun Tonight and Babylon have really grown on me! I think she could've left Plastic Doll and 1000 Doves out. Plastic Doll is far too cluttered and 1000 Doves is such an anti-climatic ugly sister, next to SFA. It serves no purpose. Other than that, I see value in every other track (including Stupid Love). Love this!

Break My Heart • Third Single
I think she should wait until Break My Heart (and low-key Don't Start Now) has died down a little more before bouncing into another single. The beginning of July may be a good time to introduce the next single.

Lady Gaga - Chromatica ● 6th album
I'm waiting till midnight. From everyone's reactions, online and on social media, the favourites seem to be Alice, Sine From Above, Replay, Babylon & Rain On Me.
-
Lady Gaga - Sour Candy (with Blackpink) ● Promo single
Not a huge fan of this surprisingly, I normal eat up everything she releases but this is such a miss for me. 1. Rain On Me 2. Stupid Love 3. Sour Candy
-
Which songs from Chromatica do you think..
I'm not listening till midnight here, so nerve-wracking and still exciting.
-
Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande - Rain On Me ● 2nd single
Hopefully with a chart placing it moves even higher, can't imagine her team wouldn't push it top ten of the playlist for release week.
-
BEYONCÉ ● rank the singles
01. Drunk in Love 02. Partition 03. Pretty Hurts 04. XO The way a video-album plays you into thinking there's more singles than there really was.

Harry Styles - Adore You
StupidLove posted a post in a topic in Harry Styles and One Direction's Harry Styles and One DirectionHe's really improved. Given his debut, there was a bunch of songs they could've helped prolong the era but it seemed so short. I'm glad to see post-album singles continue in 2020!

I Am... Sasha Fierce SURVIVOR [Round 10]

Rank Marina's albums
01. 09/10 FROOT - Often overlooked, its simplicity is its strong point. Her most cohesive and collected work, a true re-peak. 02. 09/10 Family Jewels - Incredible debut, I never thought she could top this. She was amazing straight out the bat. 03. 07/10 Electra Heart - perhaps her album that's aged the worst with time for me. Still there is a good 8 track EP here. Lies, Teen Idle and Primadonna are the holy trinity. 04. 06/10 Love + Fear - it would rank higher than EH if it wasn't for the over-excessive fillers which make no sense to the album's arc. Even then, the highlight tracks don't quite surpass anything on her first three albums.
