  1. Adam Lambert's Trespassing should be in the Coming Soon list. It isn't complete and isn't being released on 20 March now. I think the single may be delayed to closer to the new album release date as well. Certainly it's been removed from radio's release schedule for the next four weeks.

I've heard Spark being played for quite a while now.

Not surprised to see Rihanna fall under the circumstances. Catwoman, I'm not going to quote your "thesis" :D but I have to agree. The industry gives out awards for best marketing campaign. If they gave out awards for worst, Adam's UK promo team would sweep the board this year.

    I wouldn't be shocked.

I'm sure you're one of a certain number. I have to agree with PSILU though, like PSILU, I'm not going to say there are no new fans, just not that many. Diana's vocal style is too love or hate for the material to make that much difference to enough people.

I'm not surprised at Diana's album replicating the pattern of the single. The reasons for their #1 status are the same. However, I didn't expect her to make anywhere near #1 on either the singles or albums charts so however she's achieved it and with whatever numbers, well done. I'm really pleased for Alexandra. I hope it reflects in album sales again. Keane irrelevant? Yeah, OK .......................... As for Adam, it's a shame the physical albums sales of Saturday haven't been replicated on Sunday or Monday but with so many physical sales these days coming from supermarkets, any albums not being stocked by them are at an instant disadvantage. .

American radio was never going to touch FYE. As soon as it received its first play on Ryan Seacrest's show there were many stations saying they wouldn't play it. Anyway, onto another artist ...............

I would hope it's more than his No Air but I just don't see it. FYE has done as well as any song can be expected to with a grand total of four plays from Radio 1 and considerably more but still insufficient support from commercial radio to get it into the top 50 airplay chart at any point. Though as far as play on commercial radio is concerned the low number of spins lays wholly at the door of their listening panels. FYE was also the single in the far East, not WWFM, where it is doing very well. I agree though that WWFM should have been his first single here.

Really pleased about Sophie and Alexandra. Bittersweet is Sophie's best since about Murder on the Dance Floor. I can't understand why ANL wasn't released before Broken Heels. I'll pass on commenting on Diana under the teaching that if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. I know WWFM has been successful everywhere else it's been released but I can't see how it's going to do here that FYE can't and without the active promotion it has had elsewhere because it'll be released in the middle of Adam's US tour.

    Calm down? I'm practically horizontal.

    Agreed.

Get a grip! Adam has already had a few big modelling offers thrown at him but though he has taken up the ones that won't interfere with his promotion timetable, he has a music career to concentrate on. Perhaps the Andrew Stone with a sense of humour bypass meets La Roux' less gifted brother that is Patrick Wolf may find himself having to make that decision one day. Who knows? I can't believe I'm even commenting on the comparison but thanks for the laugh. It's not that obvious. Both Alex and Adam's singles have suffered from lack of airplay and from both tracks having been available for download from the album (the import album in Adam's case) for several weeks now. Both have hovered outside the top 40 for weeks already prior to official release - in Alexandra's case due to early TV performances such as DOI and in Adam's case due to video play on music channels since late March, despite the relative lack of radio airplay for both. Radio1 has played Adam one time. I don't know if they have even played Alex. Commercial radio has been more supportive of both but to no considerable level. Adam is doing better on Play, HMV, Amazon, etc than on itunes for some reason. Strange as his video is back in the top 20 on itunes now. Don't get me started on the EP format. It's a different version of the album to the American import that has been available since November, with four extra tracks.
  13. The article on Adam Lambert in tomorrow’s Times gives the single release date as 19 April and the album release date as 26 April
  14. Last night, they were talking about up to 100 artists being involved in the recording of WATW. I don't know if that includes musicians as well as vocalists.
  15. All of the above as well as ‘Vienna’ by Ultravox (held off No1 by ‘Shaddapa Your Face’ by Joe Dolce in 1981) and ‘Question’ by the Moody Blues (held off No1 by ‘Back Home’ by the England World Cup Squad in 1970). Was that 'Lady Hear Me Tonight'? If so, I think that's much better than those two other songs.
