  1. 5 Lamest Attempts To Follow-Up 'Seinfeld'

    February 11, 2022

When Seinfeld started airing, there was nothing like it on TV -- no other sitcom had dared to talk about the real issues, like penile shrinkage, "no fap" contests, or the fact that Chinese restaurants sure seem to take their sweet time finding you a table sometimes. Of course, once this wildly original show became a hit, several other TV producers said, "Hey, let's be wildly original too by doing the same thing as those guys." Or they tried to, anyway. Hence sad and forgotten Seinfeld-lite shows like...

    5. The Michael Richards Show (2000-2000) -- The Self-Hating "Kramer Spin-Off"

    4. Cursed a.k.a. The Weber Show (2000-2001) -- A Show About A Magic Cursed Nothing

    3. It's Like, You Know... (1999-2000) - Seinfeld In Another Coast, Basically

    2. The Single Guy (1995-1997) - The Middle Point Between Seinfeld And Friends, Literally

    1. SPECIAL MENTION: Dharma & Greg (1997-2002) -- The "Why Aren't You Watching Seinfeld?" Episode

  2. It’s ridiculous the tories are doing this the bbc still produces the best shows imo and I pay for Sky who buy in the best HBO dramas which are yes when you find a great one like Succession is class but it’s few and far between and the Sky Originals are awful in the most part. And that’s 40 quid a month!

Sky Documentaries has some good original stuff to be fair. Do you pay for all the Sky channels?

  3. how do you add the spoiler tags?

    [*spoiler][/spoiler*]

    Remove the asterix.

You can also just go to Insert Special Item, Insert: SPOILER and then type or copy and paste whatever you want hidden.

    Seinfeld

is the greatest sitcom of all time!

    Friends

isn’t the greatest sitcom of all time!

  4. That brilliant first ball of the series though!

Not sure I’d describe a half volley on leg stump a brilliant ball, terrible batting more like.

I wouldn't trust Burns to open a supermarket let alone opening the batting for England.

I know this isn’t related to UK ratings in 2021, but I was looking at US ratings the week Seinfeld aired its last episode. Great to see an almost exact figure for Seinfeld, usually it’s stated at 76.3 million but obviously it’s rounded up to the nearest 100k. 76.260 million is still great of course.

ER pulling in almost 48 million is incredible too! :o

  6. I’ll probably get shot down for this but Friends isn’t THAT funny. It’s obviously better than your average sitcom and has a great cast of course, but the way it’s lauded as the greatest/funniest sitcom of all time is just crazy to me. Seinfeld and Frasier are far superior.
  7. Remove the laugh track and imagine it in reql life. Not funny at all.

Context is everything. You can’t exactly base your opinion on a 9 second video without seeing the whole scene/episode in full.

I need to go back to Seinfeld at some point - I watched the first few episodes and didn’t find it that funny

Series 1 is pretty poor tbh. Series 2 is an improvement, and S3-S8 is comedy gold at its absolute finest!

  8. AJ was well beaten. Thought Usyk boxed really well - AJ looks like he's lost loads of power since he first came on the scene. He's over coached now, not sure he is that good technically. He's better when he just uses raw power. Hearn must be rubbing his hands with the rematch!

Joshua was too negative, he needed the KO. He was never going to outbox a great technical boxer like Usyk. Joshua seems more cautious now since he got hurt against Ruiz in New York.
