Having been a silent reader of Buzzjack since it opened and Cool Clarity before it I have FINALLY decided to start posting and do so with Kylie.
I really got into Kylie with Spinning Around and Light Years. I'm 18 now so it was my first real chance and I can remember watching her peforming on TOTP at my grandparents and then buying the album when it came out. I also loved Fever but even though I bought BL and X they never excited me much. Favourite Kylie singles would have to be On A Night Like This, Love At First Sight, I Believe In You and In Your Eyes. Even more of a Dannii fan but I'll leave it there for now.
Having loved ATL since first hearing it I've been excited for this album a lot like most people here and personally it hasn't disappointed. Here's what I think of the album anyway with iTunes ratings;
05 - All The Lovers (should have been #1)
05 - Get Outta My Way (most people don't seem pleased with this but i think it's a strong second single for the end of Summer)
04 - Put Your Hands Up
03 - Closer (have a feeling this will grow on me but after 3 listens i'm still not sure)
04 - Everything Is Beautiful (nice song but I found myself wanting to skip halfway through, better on second listen)
04 - Aphrodite (wasn't sure at first but it stands out against most of the album, the backing sounds really familiar though?)
03 - Illusion (least favourite on the album, not horrible but the only track I might consider a filler)
04 - Better Than Today
05 - Too Much (knew this would be one of my favourites as a CH fan and you can clearly tell he's produced, should be 3rd single in January)
05 - Cupid Boy (knew I'd like this too as a Sebastian Ingrosso fan, I'd love to see more house sounding Kylie in the future)
04 - Looking For An Angel (not too much going on but it's a really nice way to start rounding off the album)
05 - Can't Beat The Feeling (ended the album really strong, love the sound and would love to see a video)
Favourites in order are - AllTheLovers, TooMuch, GetOuttaMyWay, Can'tBeatTheFeeling, CupidBoy
Overall I think every song has a really different sound (never heard so much a variety on a Kylie album) but it all flows well together. I think this could end up being one of my albums of 2010 because nobody is making music that sounds anything like this right now.
