  1. would imagine (no pun intended) the Imagine Dragons songs are doing well because their album is No3, No5 and No17 on the ITunes chart?
  2. because it has a club/house sort of sound to it and that's what sells nowadays I'm surprised that "feat" isn't some urban rapper who sounds like they are retarded like most of the chart. Doesn't really go anywhere but it's not dreadful at least
  3. something like Laura Branigan - Self Control as it's one of my favourite 80s songs. Think it got to No5 in 1984 although it would have to appear on an advert that is shown a million times or it would have to be a song ruined by somebody on X-Factor, so maybe not :(
  4. wasn't Big Mountain - Baby I Love Your Way not No2 for a while as well? sure I remember Goodier on the chart show going "who is at No2....it's Big Mountain" quite a few times during that summer like as if it was a surprise to see Wet, Wet, Wet still top :D
  5. that 1994 chart is miles better than anything the current one spews up nowadays Regulate and Shine, two chart classics B-) bought the Let Loose single as well although I was only young
  6. seems to have become a campaign now with Twitter latching on to it and there is many media outlets running stories about the song being No1 in the ITunes chart. I think it might just stay there enough to win the battle found my 'Psyche' album a week ago in among some other CDs, can't believe that's almost 19 years old :D
  7. surprised nobody has done one for this considering the success of My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up) but here goes: http://mtvasia-com.mtvnimages.com/mtvasia-news/201303/fall-out-boy-reveal-striking-save-rock-and-roll-album-cover.jpg tracklisting: 01) The Phoenix 02) My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up) 03) Alone Together 04) Where Did the Party Go 05) Just One Yesterday (Feat. Foxes) 06) The Mighty Fall (Feat. Big Sean) 07) Miss Missing You 08) Death Valley 09) Young Volcanoes 10) Rat a Tat (Feat. Courtney Love) 11) Save Rock and Roll (Feat. Elton John) album out in the UK on April 15th, US on the 16th obviously everybody's heard the first song, but I'll still stick a link to it LkIWmsP3c_s My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up) yesterday however they released the first song from the album called The Phoenix on ITunes in the US (more likely a UK release coming) and it's quite a good starting point for the album in my opinion. Strange video though 5hDZbroaQDc The Phoenix quite looking forward to this album based on the first two songs, certainly feels like they are trying new things
  8. JrbMNBNMksk Biblical the next Biffy single from Opposites, apparently going to be out on Monday April 1st but that hasn't been confirmed yet video has an interesting concept and the song is one of my favourites from the album, has potential to be another chart hit for them

I don't think BFMV will be anywhere near Foals this week, Foals have the "album of the week" at Amazon which means their mp3 album is reduced which normally will ensure a band does quite well the Bullet album hasn't had the best reviews and personally I don't think it's that great either, certainly not good enough for me to buy a physical or mp3 copy of it. I guess they could sell using the fanbase but the idea of it not being part of the reduced offers in digital stores is going to hurt it, it's also not in the top 20 sellers of physical CDs at Amazon either whereas Foals is No2 Foals is No1 on ITunes as well, BFMV are 9

I can see Bullet For My Valentine as possibly a contender for the No1 album next week, not sure what their pre-order sales are on ITunes or anything but they are coming off two UK top 5 albums and the fanbase is definitely there could actually enter the US chart higher than the UK one like they've done for the two previous albums
  11. seems a strange analogy thinking that MCR have to be doing the same as FOB considering I'd say both bands are quite different and attract a different audience. I could use the buzzword "emo" but I would describe both as probably alternative rock rather than pop-punk which FOB were until Infinity On High and MCR have practically been most of their career rather than the "emo" tag which is lazy and reminds me of the "nu metal" tag that was used to group bands like Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit etc in the early 2000s
  12. Supremacy is one of the best songs they've done in years so that's hopefully why it's became a single the video as usual for Muse is dire though, should have had some sort of Bond-esque video considering the song could work as a theme for those movies

73% of last week's sales at this time (so Biffy were on 43k for Monday/Tuesday) is 11k or around that I think? Les Mis was on about 13k at this time last week so I would guess it's still around that, seems to be one of those that is steady but not selling on a massive scale and that would be The Courteeners at about 16k or about that. I'd say Jake Bugg is more likely to be No2 on Sunday probably due to his position in the ITunes/Amazon charts at least I think that's right for the percentage of the sales :D

if The Courteeners are leading the Les Miserables soundtrack by 2.5k and we are up to Tuesday where it was reported they had a 5k lead from Monday sales then I can see the soundtrack back at the top on Sunday be interesting to see if The Courteeners stays in the top 3 actually as it looks to be heavily frontloaded
  15. had a listen to this last week, the music is still decent but the lyrics are just so badly noticeable at times it almost sounds as if the band is bored with most of the songs on the album as well, nothing like the band who created the Hand Of Blood EP or The Poison. Will probably be their highest charting entry in the UK and US though, despite it probably being around the same sort of quality as Fever

would say Jake Bugg or Les Mis has a better chance, Biffy only leading the Amazon MP3 chart currently whereas Bugg leads the Amazon/ITunes sales chart. Wouldn't be surprised if he's No2 unless one of the others are getting good physical sales somewhere Les Mis album is going to be one that sticks around for ages more than likely
  17. FOB should be top ten by the end of the night, the song will be played on Radio 1 later as it's going to be Zane Lowe's "Hottest Record In The World"
  18. FOB song isn't a one off single, new album "Save Rock And Roll" is out May 7th (or 6th here) not sure what I think of it to be honest, it's catchy but I'm one of those older FOB fans who would have rather a return to their old stuff which probably wasn't going to happen
  19. Biffy topping the album chart by selling 71,584 copies according to a post on their forums from a 14th Floor representative this morning almost double the opening week of Puzzle which shows they are becoming a bigger band, would like it to stay around for a while though but I don't think it will
  20. would say it's above the level of the last two albums and it's verging at times on the 3 albums that were made before the major label involvement. Accident Without Emergency, Picture A Knife Fight, Trumpet and Tap, Magic Modern Formula, The Joke's On Us, A Girl And His Cat and Biblical are my favourites from it but I actually don't dislike any of the songs would say Pocket is probably the only one I'm a bit indifferent towards but that's not dislike or hate. As I said before though, Biblical has the potential to be a big single if they release it. Apparently the next single could be Victory Over The Sun

Biffy should get around 70k which is a big improvement on Puzzle's first week of 37,346 and Only Revolutions first week of 43,113 around 13k sold on Wednesday and Thursday, although I've seen differing figures for the album's sales to Tuesday night (Kerrang has them down as selling 33,018 copies) but I'd probably believe the OCC over that. 23k sold on Wednesday/Thursday would be impressive though. The main problem will be keeping that up during the next year or so though, would expect OR is close to double platinum status if it hasn't actually broken past it by now which would mean around 600k and Warner will probably expect more from Opposites considering Puzzle was only a platinum album then again the idea of a double album might mean they aren't as bothered, I know there is a single CD out there but you miss out on some really good Biffy songs if you buy that ;)

in the figures by the way, the OCC report is slightly wrong I think? Only Revolutions debuted at No7 in November 2009 because it was up against some big albums then (think that was the JLS/Robbie Williams battle for No1) it climbed to a peak of No3 in August 2010 when they were at Reading/Leeds

sounds a bit sad but I feel like the proud father watching his son achieve something :D been a Biffy fan for well over a decade, seen them tour plenty of toilet circuits in the UK and I've had plenty of people turn round to me when I mention Biffy as a favourite band and say "who". Obviously this has been coming for a few years but if you said to me in 2004 when I bought Infinity Land that the band would have a No1 album in just under a decade's time, I'd have turned round and laughed at you more likely

http://www.contactmusic.com/news/35th-anni...-top-10_3473912 mentions it there, from the OCC as well

the drummer from Funeral For A Friend saying on Twitter that Conduit is No12 in the midweeks so it will probably be lower when you get Monday + Tuesday sales included tomorrow decent start for them though :)
