Biffy Clyro 'Only Revolutions' || 02-09-09
if you are willing to go to the earlier Biffy stuff then something like Scary Mary off the debut album Blackened Sky or The Atrocity off the 3rd album Infinity Land. That's if you want to hear stuff similar to Many Of Horror (ie slower Biffy) if you want to go to more obscure areas then b-sides from BS like Breatheher or Hope For An Angel would be worth a listen. Of course there is Machines and Folding Stars (not better than MOH btw) from Puzzle Anybody who likes Puzzle and Only Revolutions would probably like Blackened Sky and Infinity Land as they are quite similar album-wise but Vertigo Of Bliss would probably make you wonder if it's the same band ;) a band who in my opinion have never made a "bad" song, albums or the b-sides

similar to what I said in a previous page I think, Only Revolutions is better than Puzzle which itself is a good album. OR seems to flow a bit better and have better songs for me though. However, if Blackened Sky hadn't been ignored by most of the media then it would have probably been similar to Puzzle/OR in sales because songs like 27, 57 and Justboy were ready-made singles. The only difference "artistic" movements for Biffy are Vertigo Of Bliss which for me still remains their best album but that album would have done absolutely nothing chart wise because it's very experimental and probably you'd have to like to the harder Biffy sound rather than what Puzzle/OR is now. Infinity Land was moving away from VOB but it's probably still more experimental than BS was probably better that Biffy were ignored for years by the media though as Blackened Sky being a hit might not have resulted in VOB seeing the light of day and that is the best stuff era wise that Biffy have done, the album and the b-sides B) That's not to say I don't still enjoy Puzzle and OR though because they are very good albums, just not as good as aforementioned ones. next single has to Bubbles to be honest, it would do a killing on radio and continue the album sales. Cloud Of Stink would get playlisted on Radio 1 but I doubt any of the network stations would care like they did with Many Of Horror

Deftones - Diamond Eyes | 03.05.10
sounds utterly awesome :yahoo: to be honest though, the last album wasn't that bad at all, it just wasn't like Around The Fur or White Pony which this album seems to be hinting at a return to B)

not surprising considering it's "TV influenced" is it? I wonder if anybody in this country actually discovers music now by going to gigs/listening to bands on Myspace or they just wait for it to come on the TV?

Bullet For My Valentine - Fever
"Begging For Mercy" taken from the album (strangely named) Fever is on the new Bullet website which is www.bulletformyvalentine.com free download as well album is due out April 26th and this song isn't bad, sounds a bit like the EP/Poision but still has the thrash elements of Scream, Aim, Fire B)

being a fan of the band for about 8 years, you'd expect this response: but MOH is not their best commercial single to date stuff like Justboy and 57 from the debut album would have been massive hits if the media didn't ignore the band in the beginning, although I'm not one of those fans who likes the earlier stuff and dislikes the later stuff. OR is probably one of the best albums of last year and is finally getting rewarded with the album sales that it deserves. Bubbles which I think is due out on April 26th will be a radio hit and will probably do quite well as it's a very catchy song B) plus it should result in the album flying back up the chart again

iTunes Chart: February 2010
Use Somebody was the "record of the year" at the Grammy Awards so that might be the cause possibly

The Dillinger Escape Plan - Option Paralysis | 23.03.10
really looking forward to this, Farewell Mona Lisa is such a good track. Hoping for something as good as Ire Works was, some tracks like Milk Lizard would be very nice also looking forward to The Bled's new album called Heat Fetish which is released in the same month, pretty much in the same sort of genre as DEP are, if a bit less similar

iTunes Chart: January 2010 (III)
I'm guessing MOH is at a higher position because the album is No2 on the ITunes album chart and people have to download MOH to get the album. Nice to see the album is continuously rising up the album charts though, getting the recognition it deserves as one of the best of last year ^_^
