  1. I'm guessing 5SOS are another boy band, haven't heard the song, all these boy bands coming out of the woodwork since 1d came along and none of them will survive more then a year or two
  2. amazon are 79p quite often, I can't see many people paying £1.29 for a track, especially when you can get an album for £7.99, could see the instant grab thing becoming more popular when it comes to songs which have come out before their albums. Dance tracks will suffer the most because of this imo
  3. Ed Sheeran is springing to mind even more, he's due a new album
  4. Rihanna is touring with Eminem this Summer, so that makes me think she'll have a new album out before then
  5. Although it wasn't on spotify, 21 was on the streaming service that I subscribe to - napster, from its release
  6. Also know it's probably someone who uses social media a lot, I think we can immediately count out Lana Del Rey, look at her twitter account, barley tweets. Adele also not a big tweeter https://twitter.com/LanaDelRey
  7. The more i think about it the more I don't think it's GaGa, I'm pretty sure she has spoken in the past about having her music available to everyone, I don't think she's anti streaming either
  8. Taylor's on now, plus that was a label decision. Rihanna more likely, or it could be AC/DC who are rumored to be doing a brand new album, a little different but you never know
  9. So going back to the original article it says this [The artist] feels there are compensation problems [on streaming platforms like Spotify]. So it's someone who maybe isn't that big on streaming
  10. Whoever it is will be alienating a lot of fans, because not everyone has itunes.
  11. If it is someone releasing only to itunes, it's youth orientated act imo, a lot of older music fans use amazon. So someone very much with a target audience, rather then someone like Adele or Emeli Sande who appealsto everyone, even Rihanna has quite a large audience, that makes me think Justin Bieber or maybe shock surprise- one direction
  12. Only on itunes, seeing as I don't have an itunes account i hope it's someone like Rihanna rather then say Lana
  13. Kylie and Christina Perri should chart high, very curious to how Pixie Lott and Lea Michele will do
  14. Good week for singles- Kylie, Christina Perri, Lea Michele and Pixie Lott, intrigued to see how the latter two do. March 17 still looking epic for albums, no pushbacks or anything it seems,
  15. I reckon if they count streaming, then the singers themselves could promote their music even more via social media, it's probably easier for them to persuade people to stream a song then buy one
  16. Does anyone know what rules the occ have in place for their current streaming chart
  17. One of the songs in the top 10 at the moment, the DJ Fresh song isn't available on spotify etc. So how wuold streaming sales being counted affect that's placing on the chart I wonder
  18. I hope you tube isn't counted, it makes matters much more complicated, then you could see songs in the charts not even available to buy
  19. Well the streaming chart does then seem to be similar to napsters own chart. Zedd's new song only 52 on streaming (although it will no doubt climb) while it's top 5 on downloads/physicals
  20. I am subscriber to napster and they do their own charts, their current top 5 is 5) Avicii- Hey Brother, 4) Jason DeRulo- Trumpets, 3)Pitbull-Timber, 2) Pharrell-Happy, 1) Clean Bandit- Rather Be From that I would say it takes new songer longer to climb their charts, for example can't see the Zedd single in their top 50. Wherever that applies to other streaming sites i don't know
  21. I'm sure they have rules in place for streaming charts, like if someone streams a song 100 times a day does that count as one sale etc. What this might affect are songs not available to stream, that would be mainly music on the ministry of sound label
  22. Wow really quiet week on the singles front
  23. Oh a new Eels album in April
  24. 17th March looks like a wicked week for albums
  25. Been a long time coming (so long that I believe Manic Kangaroo, may have removed it from the coming soon list) but George Michael's new album Symphonica finally has a release date http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a54...ca-release.html
