Barclays Premier League
I'd find it really darkly funny if Chelsea were able to enact revenge on them and deny them on the final day. Couldn't see Mourinho celebrating too much from home if it meant giving the title to Arsene Wenger though!

2016 US Election.
I would bite your hand off for a Cruz nomination. Tea Party politics is a known quantity so I can't see him shifting the debate to the right during the campaign in the same way that Trump could.

If I were Leicester I'd definitely want the league wrapped up before the final day. That game against Chelsea is looking rather ominous.

2016 US Election.
He'd be an awful lot better at it than an actual Corbyn-type figure would be (because let's face it, they're really not that alike), which is why I'd be vocally backing him if he was still in with a shout of winning the nomination.

2016 US Election.
Equally you could argue that Sanders is being propped up by young liberals who will vote Democrat no matter what, while Hillary is being supported by moderates who might think Trump could run the economy better. Neither is entirely accurate, but it illustrates why it's hard to say who would be a better bet.

Would Chelsea want Europa League football though? I think they'd rather make the semis of the CL than win the FA Cup.

2016 US Election.
Regarding the whole "he's winning the seats that the Democrats actually win" - so? The Democrat membership will be markedly different in terms of demographics and views to the electorate as a whole in virtually every state. The swing voters who could win Ohio for him against Clinton aren't the same ones who would have to vote for him to win Ohio against Trump or any other Republican.

Tomorrow will be a big test for Spurs, without meaning to blow our own trumpets. We play Arsenal and Leicester back-to-back next month as well, and I doubt either will be particularly looking forward to it.

Europa League 2015/16 Season
Well I'm delighted given that our FA Cup game against United will now be sandwiched by two games against Liverpool, with a Manchester derby the weekend after. Here's hoping for a replay.

2016 US Election.
That's worrying, but Clinton's dirty laundry has had a lot more airing than Trump's so far.

Sorry, would you be actually pleased by that?

EU Referendum Discussion
The demographic time-bomb that would result from us turning away migrants from other EU countries and them returning the favour doesn't bear thinking about. Easy decision for me. Less than amused that the vote will be while I'm at Glastonbury, but it gives us an excuse to buy an EU flag.

The FA Cup
Limiting ties to one replay makes sense - replays are part of the magic of the FA Cup but limiting it to one means that fixtures don't pile up but the smaller team will still always get a lucrative away tie. These proposals are dangerous and won't really help enhance the national team or how our teams do in Europe. The Premier League is too powerful and too competitive, reforming it somehow is the only way to achieve those objectives.

By-elections 2015 - 2020
I'll be going over to campaign with old friends in Hillsborough. Not overly familiar with the seat but I'll be surprised if UKIP do better than in Oldham West.

Adam Johnson SACKED by Sunderland
The club had to do it. It'd be interesting to know what the grooming charge consisted of - whether it was that he continued to text her for a while after they'd first met, for instance.

Irish General Election 2016
There's a joke in there somewhere.

The FA Cup
We had about six penalty takers on the pitch. Would have been spoilt for choice if we'd got that one in the second half. Even Owen said it should have been given!

The FA Cup
Comiserations to all the Liverpool fans. We wanted to do you on penalties.

2016 US Election.
Are we assuming that if the GOP moderates take it in turns to get a shock good result then it'll end up with none of them getting the nomination?
-
Barclays Premier League
Yeah, I don't get why people are so convinced that United have a better chance of winning the Europa League than finishing 4th. Obviously Liverpool do, but the EL is so competitive it's really not worth gambling that much on.

Barclays Premier League
Chelsea should have won it at the end. Hiddink's starting tactics were arguably too conservative.

2016 US Election.
I'm still thinking that Sanders will start chipping away at the leads Hillary has with the demographic groups which back her most strongly as the primaries continue and it becomes such a pronounced two-horse race. At this point, winning ten or so states and pushing her into asking Warren or another establishment lefty to be her running mate should be seen as achievable and highly commendable.
