Barclays Premier League
I thought they were waiting until they could no longer draw Bayern in the CL. Odd.

Barclays Premier League
If we're playing a proper two up front, our only option is a diamond. City just equalised. Great game so far, Payet is running the show.

2016 US Election.
I wonder whether as the campaign continues her lead with minorities might slip a little as Sanders continues to break out of his traditional base. She's still massive favourite in the national picture though, obviously.

And surrender the midfield? On a side note, do we have two defensive midfielders? If you're going for stoppers about the best combination I can think of is Dier and Milner which isn't exactly exciting.

If Kane plays, Rooney could play as a Number 10 against weaker sides or as part of a flexible front 3.

Barclays Premier League
Assuming that Rooney was inevitably going to start in the Euros regardless, his recent form has to be good news for England. Although it'd be a shame if he keeps Kane out of the starting XI.

Of course he's going to make that point, self-promotion is part of the game. Doesn't make you saying it any more correct.

The Official Labour Foot-Shooting Thread
It's pretty obvious that a lot of the original appointments were made up on the fly. Easy to argue that that was because Corbyn didn't expect to win, but he was the favourite from at least a month out.

"It was just a slogan" Can you even imagine the shit that would kick off if this was happening the other round? Get real. Besides, there's plenty of non-Corbynite MPs who would diversify the Shad Cab and wouldn't cause trouble. He's just not been very good at finding them.

The FA Cup
Must be worth putting a few quid on each of the mid-table teams at those odds. West Ham fizzled out last year after the amazing penalty win against Everton but no one will want us or Stoke in a one-off game.

Winter Transfer Thread 2016
January is invariably a let down. Every few years there's an exception to the rule which justifies the delirium (2011, obviously). If we can bag Lanzini on a permanent deal I don't think we'll need anything else. This summer is the big one.

Political predictions for 2016
In fairness, aside from 2011 and that bizarre attack ad in 2014 I think Labour's national campaign in the last parliament was pretty Tory-focused. It's sort of necessary as the main opposition party to attack the main government party if you want to be seen as an alternative. On a side note, attention could have been diverted to UKIP a little more.

Barclays Premier League
It shows the strength in depth of the league. Last season, losing six of our best attacking players at the same time would completely do us in. This time we've got the squad to be competitive in every game and now those players are coming back we've shown we can beat anyone.

Political predictions for 2016
I think it was more a prediction off the basis that Tim Farron's leadership so far has shown exactly those characteristics - even go so far as to say that the tax credits u-turn was a Lib Dem victory.

As much as I want him gone, I don't think I could bear the hysteria if he was deselected. It would be infinitely wise of the Labour First lot to completely disown him because he's had it coming.

Simon Danczuk thinks we should divert foreign aid money to flood relief. That's about the top three things wrong with British politics all in the same story.

"Cheeky" tackle from Vardy could have got him sent off. That would have been interesting, Mahrez can't usually do it all on his own.

Euro 2016 draw
France's group is hilariously easy, both sides of Ireland's ridiculously hard. Ours is somewhere in the middle, although we have far more quality than any of the other three teams in there. Keep Bale quiet and we'll top the group.

Arsenal hold the record, Villa are third behind Everton in that respect I believe.

Nandy v Lewis would be really quite something.

Barclays Premier League
The Christmas period is always crucial. We will be seriously stretched with the fixture congestion, but seemingly everyone is having an injury crisis right now so I wouldn't be surprised if we get more surprise results over the next month or so. The league looks to be between Arsenal and City though.

By-elections 2015 - 2020
It'll be interesting for UKIP in the sense that 2013 was their breakthrough year so this is the last year they could be expected to make decent gains without becoming any more popular nationally.
