  1. Safe as houses. Both were excellent last night. Arsenal have a 40% chance of meeting in Real or Barcelona in the last 16 though.
  2. I can't see both Chelsea and Arsenal failing tonight. The former have (largely) been able to grind out results in the CL so far and Arsenal always seem to turn up on nights like this.
  3. City do a City and go through top despite being behind to Monchengladbach with 15 minutes to go. Sevilla get prepped for a third Europa League title on the trot by beating Juve. What a night.

I think he'll win the primary but not the general.

Jesus, Trump even makes Boris look good.
  6. The Independent and the Guardian need to stop getting so excited at every potential "crisis" story. Hopefully the novelty will wear off soon because this government needs better scrutiny and the BBC aren't able to do it while the spectre of being butchered hangs over them.
  7. If Leicester win their next four games I will eat all of my shoes. Newcastle nullified Liverpool well today. Sissoko and Wijnaldum are so inconsistent but there's a lot of potential there when everyone's on form. Shame the defence is usually such garbage.
  8. I dread to think what we'd have been like in previous years with four or our five best attacking players out, but we've got depth now. Antonio was lively when he came on and he and Zarate offered some support to Carroll at last. Alex Song is a class act.
  9. West Ham could have easily won today. No strategy from United at all, they'll be the worst title winners in a while if they somehow finish top.
  10. Always I'm all for getting behind him, I'd just rather people who disagreed with him on things weren't violently threatened with deselection.
  11. Well consider me surprised. Fantastic result, turnout was unexpectedly solid as well.
  12. But you were literally equating abolishing Clause IV with abandoning the idea that Labour should try and win elections.
  13. At which point even I would think about leaving.
  14. There are major questions to be asked about how the party maintains a balance between leader, PLP and membership and they become more major the longer Corbyn stays. The more extreme parts of his support base will never accept responsibility if it continues to go tits up.
  15. Jamie Redknapp apparently.
  16. I knew I should have put a bet on him becoming the next England coach. If Valencia make the top four I can see him taking over from Hodgson next summer. Strange to think that earlier in the week there were rumours about him joining a team in the Championship, it's quite a step up! If he can earn the respect of the players and the fans early I'd imagine he'll do well. Clearly very tactically astute defensively and knows what defenders don't like facing going forward as well.
  17. I'm missing the comfort blanket provided by Ed's "we're not going to win but we're united and ticking along well enough that we just might" state of purgatory. Even though it was sort of a waste of five years.
  18. Carroll shouldn't be starting. Bring him on for the last half an hour, but he upsets the entire team's rhythm.
  19. Oh and may the gods of hellfire rain down on anyone who tries to deselect Stella Creasy.
  20. It surely would have been more difficult to make hay out of the tax credits u-turn when his own stance was so confused.
  21. That's nice. I wonder where the other hundred thousand are.
  22. It would be nice if some more of Momentum's members put their money where their mouth was and started knocking on doors rather than hiding on Twitter.
  23. I'm really looking forward to the "Blairite" candidate being blamed for only delivering a 1,500 majority.
  24. Before seeing any of West Ham today I assumed we were back to the Allardyce days of settling for a draw in a game we should be winning. Turns out we looked pretty good - Sakho works miles better than Carroll up front and will be missed next week against United. Hopefully Bilic will start Zarate up top.
