I have a feeling this might get more responses in the 'pop' forum but this is its rightful place...

You can give as many 10s and 0s as you want but only one 11 and no minus scores.

  2. oh diana will keep the number 1. I'm not worried at all. chipmunk will fall soon enough and glee will get up to about 3 and then fall again, a la 'don't stop believing'.

I reckon GYH will have a chart run more like the mashups, DSB had a video and all to help it stay up. "Vogue" could do something similar next week, that has a video doesn't it?

  3. 'Gives You Hell' was pretty weak as far as All-American Rejects singles go ('Move Along' so deserved to be huge :(), but Glee's version works tremendously.

I agree that it's certainly the most fitting for a Glee makeover... although I do think it was one of their best, only Dirty Little Secret ahead of it really.

  4. I heard that Party in the usa FLOPPED in the Uk and sold less than 150,000 surley this can't be true as the climb sold over 300,000 ?

Can i get sale figures of

    Party in the usa

    When I look at You

The Climb and Her Album Time of our lives.

WHEN I LOOK AT YOU LOOKS SET TO FLOP MAJOR IN THE CHARTS !!!!!!!!!!!!

The Climb can't have sold more than 300k since it only got to #11 and the biggest non-top 10 of last year (Jason Mraz) also got to #11 and stuck around for way longer, only selling 350k. That figure for PITUSA sounds fairly accurate though, and it's hardly flopping.

    2004 32,266,501 2009 152,749,077

    Albums

    YEAR TOTAL

    2000 134,695,507 2005 158,988,944

    2001 144,910,940 2006 154,099,265

    2002 149,178,638 2007 138,067,371

    2003 159,277,740 2008 133,643,773

    2004 163,405,658 2009 128,946,805

That's fantastic, I'm putting that in a graph and it's fascinating to see the trend. Do you have any figures for further back?

  6. Im suprised Hello, Goodbye hasnt taken off more tbh. The songs performed by the entire group at the end of the episode is usually the one most sucsessful.

Rachel's version of Gives You Hell is rather fabolous though. I loved original aswell - did that manage top 10?

How wonderful would it be if Gives You Hell somehow got to #1 instead of Vickers. Assuming Until You Were Gone fails which unfortunetly its looking likely too.

The original got to #18, deserved far better. This one at least is top 10-bound, also first time in a while Glee will get five new top 75 entries in one week!

  7. #1, but the release needs brought forward

Then "Airplanes" will get to #1 as well, and it will help Paramore have even more success (I know their album got #1, but I'd like some singles to do well too), and I'll be happy :w00t:

They seem to be one of those bands with a far greater fanbase than their sales suggest :o still, things can only get better, they're all still in their early 20s.

  8. Run was an incredible cover. It's my all time favourite song, and I'm very happy to see it at #3, though I wish it had been #1 ^_^ It definitely deserves it.

It sucked everything that was great about the original out and ended up with a song that didn't fit the singer, even though the lyrics and composition are lousy in comparison I'd far rather listen to "Bleeding Love" than that monstrosity.

  11. I'm sorry, what? #13, 14, 16, 17, 18, 19, 22 and 45 all miss out (Paramore not even qualifying for next year) behind a generic, mindless, plain DREADFUL karaoke cover? 2008 was a great year, but seeing "Run" a full ten places ahead of "Sex on Fire" is just baffling.
