While I agree in principle, that would be a very tricky thing to implement with compilation albums. Do they focus on the songs and cap those older than a certain period of time? They don't want a newly released hits collection to automatically be handicapped. Or do they put a date on when a greatest hits release gets relegated to ACR after being out for a period of time? What is to stop the label releasing a new hits collection every few years to get around this and still have a high 'selling' release in the charts. I hope they do implement something, but based on Martin's response, I don't see any change being made anytime soon. When the high turn over at the top peters out due to catalogue releases blocking #1s, then we might see some change. Will get worse before it gets better.

A decent climb for Eyes Closed. Much more respectable peak position. Guessing this might be RAYE’s last week as it looks set to leave the top 50 next week (unless I have misunderstood how the Hot 100 works).

Definitely feels like a man’s world this week. I went for Tom, Harry, BMTH and Ed. Suspect Victony will be a grower though.

To be fair, we made some terrible choices when we did have a show for that, so not sure I trust us there either. :lol: It just didn’t translate well live in comparison to the other big pop songs on stage. It wasn’t bad, but just being ok isn’t enough. Really hope this becomes a hit still as that would keep other acts engaged with doing the show for next year. Last thing we need is go to go back to scraping the barrel for songs/acts.

Really hoping we do see a change with getting some backing vocals to support the chorus. Everything else essential is there, but if the chorus falls flat on the night, then I can’t see this connecting with people as it should. On a positive note, I do like the staging and colours. Hoping for the best here.

That clip they showed did seem very weak. The energy just wasn’t there and the da dadadada dai bit didn’t feel elevated enough. Hopefully the full performance is better (will watch later), but that has lowered my expectations for how we will do.

People watching the Ed documentary on Disney plus. That and people noticing he has an album out as others have mentioned. Was hoping to see something for Rita after her semi-final performance.

I’m expecting around 85-90k. Considering 2/3 of the hits were reliant on those physicals to get to the top, I am not confident overall streaming numbers will be great. Expecting a slightly better response than Ed has got this week, but not much more. Expect physicals/downloads should at least get him over 60k alone, but we will see.

It will be on bbc one this year over prime time so will get more casual audiences watching who might not have even been aware of the semi finals before. Whether the audience who would be browsing what’s on that night and leave it on are the people that would stream after is another matter. Expect a decent boost on iTunes at least.

Real shame this has performed so badly. Such a surprise hit for me. Getting Snoop on Satellite was absolute genius.

Same here. Was tempted with Jack as well but don’t think I would realistically choose to listen to it again.

Probably being pessimistic but I went with 31k-45k. With only one single that has been moderately successful and less commercial release, I don’t know how much demand there is to pick this up on release. At least = came out after two big singles and a busy Q4 schedule (expect there to have been people picking this up with 30 or Voyage). There is also an element of Ed fatigue.

What a dull couple of weeks in the calendar. At least Eurovision this week coming will make up for the lack of big releases.

Week 16 - Post, Jorja, Taylor, Sigala & Jazzy got my vote. Week 17 - Weeknd, Tyler, Kim and Florence were my picks. Karma being the best of the whole lot. Jazzy was the best surprise.

You wouldn’t get the dance acts of the noughties/early teens doing these collabs with well known acts like you do now. This has made a big impact on dj charting careers. David Guetta for example has pretty much stayed relevant through features. LF System have not added all these known acts to follow up tracks and have tanked with every release since their massive number one. All here for Jazzy to keep climbing.

Crazy to think Flowers has almost outsold Anti-hero’s lifetime sales (and nor far behind Unholy for that matter).

Considering Kim hasn't had a solo hit before (bar their RUTH cover scraping top 100 due to Alexa), I would say this one is performing as good, if not better than expected. Spotify isn't great, but it has been very stable on Apple. Rita's performance so far is definitely disappointing but I wouldn't count it out, just yet. Still got some time before album release which is when I expect interest will peak.

I have seen so mane performance videos being shared, with the various show effects. I imagine that has helped give a more viral effect outside the tour area than normal. Otherwise, yeah, the hype for Taylor right now is mad.
