I see Britney has said she loves the song in a supportive message for Justin on instagram. Hopefully that will calm things down a bit. Really hope Justin has some uk promo planned. Without it, I can’t see this or the album making much of a dent here. Playlisting on Spotify too, but appreciate that will be more of an uphill struggle for Justin to secure.

Great news about I Got You! Didn’t have to wait long after all. That’s 10 certified singles now. :cheer: Probably be a while before we see an 11th, though I hope we do get some surprise certifications as the year goes on.

If this is trying to compare ‘yes, and’s performance against J Christ, they are hardly comparable in terms of chart performance. Bit of a dull release week IMO. Will be interesting to see how Justin ends up doing.
  5. What a climb for Sophie Ellis-Bextor! :cheer:

Definitely sounds promising. Looking forward to the full studio version.

To be fair, the song is a bit crap (by Becky’s standards). :P On a more serious note, I have no doubt it will climb again in future as it gets added to more playlists so wouldn’t panic just yet.

Here I was thinking January would be a pretty sleepy month with low streams. Even Greedy doing 300k+ a day at this point is pretty impressive. Noah still climbing with Stick Season feels mad. Would be surprised if he doesn't get a BRIT Awards performance in like Olivia did after Drivers Licence blew up.

Thanks for this. Great to see RAYE’s album is finally certified! :cheer: Looks like the website has sorted the issue with recent certifications not pulling through when searching by song/artist name up to 5th Jan. Guessing it will be another month before 12th Jan and onwards will be visible searching that way. :nocheer:

Only half way through season 2 and feels just as good as season 1 so far. Great job on the soundtrack again. Hoping they release the soundtrack playlist soon, like they did season 1.

You aren’t alone on this, I still love the song for what it is. Last Dinner Party hopefully will climb over the week. Nothing Matters sounds huge to me if given the support to reach people.

Doesn’t mean it was the right thing for the song though. :P Even then, two months was excessive. Bleeding Love only had a month gap for comparison.
  13. The Last Dinner Party is the best of the mix by far. Also voted for Strangers, Ophelia, Head Down and Heather on the Hill.

I agree we can’t put it all on Simon/Nicola, although only those in her inner circle will know how much is Leona saying no or not pushing for those things. Only Syco act I can think of that toured outside the uk is one direction, so do feel the lack of touring is more of a management/label thing though, which had a knock on effect for festival organisers making offers. I also feel the Leona career errors started well before Happy. Happy’s release strategy was more the issue imo than the song choice for album lead. 2 months between being sent to radio and actual release meant many people either got bored of it by release or illegally downloaded it by then (or just waited the extra week for Echo). Think Leona would do well jumping on the rent a singer bandwagon that has worked wonders for Becky Hill and Ella Henderson - I just don’t feel Leona is that bothered at this point. Hopefully she proves me wrong this year.

So there is an issue with the site that has been going on for a little while, where recent certifications don’t show up when you search by the song/artist name. Bar December 1st, all the December certifications currently don’t show up when you search by name. The website was updating at least once a month to fix this, as October and November had the same issue, but December hasn’t been fixed yet.

Info has been scarce on Leona releases, though not too surprising given the lack of new music since 2015. Glassheart was on 89k as of December 2018 doing just over 2k a year, so expect this to definitely go gold this year. I don't have any sales estimates for Echo since December 2010 when it was on 658,800. Would be surprised if that was performing worse than Glassheart, so looking at 685k as a minimum (most likely over 700k). Really hope we get a new album this year and catalogue sales updates with it. The other albums (if anyone has more up to date, please share): Spirit - 3,170,000 as of September 2018 Christmas, With Love - 124,000 as of December 2018 I Am - 23,770 as of August 2018

Agreed on this. Definitely feels risky and I won’t rule out the song growing on me, but definitely not the instant pop bop I was hoping for. Expect Noah to stay ahead overall this week now. Ella/Rudimental ticks all the boxes screaming hit based on what did well last year. Expect that to do very well.
  18. Marina released a song each month in the lead up to Froot being released, although none of them charted so not a great success single wise. Recall it did benefit the album in USA as though where the album pre-orders meant each release shot up iTunes on release, leading to more pre-orders and a top 10 chart placement.

I have no doubt the first few days will be very decent numbers for Ariana. There will no doubt be a large number of curiosity streams due to name power and hype. Will all depend on the song quality, but would be surprised if the first week numbers are any less than Positions first week.
  20. Sophie smashing it :yahoo:

Whilst I appreciate the odd surprise resurgence like MOTD is getting, the amount of pre 2020 tracks is depressing to see. Need some new music ASAP.
  22. 100% expect Britney never to tour again or do the promo circuit, but find it hard to believe she would never put out new music. Hold Me Closer showed she is happy to get involved in a project that excites her and seemed very proud of that (unlike the limited comments she has made about Mind Your Business). Hopefully she will have the bug again in a few years to put something out, but at least she is enjoying songwriting currently. Maybe she’ll write something that she won’t want to give away.

Last sales figure I have is 165k from December 2018. Forgive Me was at 177k at the same point. I Got You has been a consistently better streamer than Forgive Me (even after combining single and album edits) so don’t expect it to be far behind Forgive Me and will eventually overtake.

Forgive Me certified Silver today. :cheer: Believe that Leona's 9th single to be certified. Expecting I Got You to be the 10th, hopefully by the end of this year.

Updated now and also included Ireland’s charts for a bit more European coverage. It definitely seems to be gaining a bit more attention as it gradually breaks into more territories. Hopefully we will see better playlist placement next year for OMS and Winter Wonderland, which seems to also be gaining traction.
